Chapter 375 Benjamin Had an Illegitimate Child
The Wilson family.
Tomorrow was Serena's funeral, but Benjamin still refused to come back.
"Benjamin still isn't coming back?" Karen, dressed in black, asked indifferently,
"He won't answer my calls." Evan's voice was hoarse, looking unusually tired. "The company is also in trouble; Benjamin has embezzled a large sum of money. Although I've patched the hole, it's still not enough. The Crestwood Development Group is constantly pressuring us, and our group won't hold on for much longer."
"So useless," Karen clenched her fists.
" "The Crestwood Development Group aims to buy out our group. I think it's the best move for our staff and members, and the best possible outcome."
He had to take responsibility for the people at the Wilson Group.
"The Crestwood Development group? Why them? The Wilson family has the most basic dignity. Even if it's destroyed, we can't let other groups benefit! If we can't have it, then let it be destroyed!" Karen was losing it.
Karen was too concerned about saving face.
Evan sighed. "As you wish. After the funeral, I will resign as the president of the Wilson group. Everything will be up to you and Benjamin to decide. I will leave."
Evan didn't want to stay here any longer.
"Evan! What do you mean?" Karen was starting to panic.
Her daughter was gone, and now Evan wanted to leave, too. Was Evan out of his mind?
"Just what you think." Evan felt suffocated.
Evan wanted a change of environment, to spend the rest of his days
even if it meant living with guilt.
"You're crazy; I think you're crazy! Do you want to leave? Do you want to abandon me? Evan! I've been so good to you all these years; I risked my life to give birth to you; I gave you life, raised you, gave you everything you wanted; you can't treat me like this," Karen shouted uncontrollably,
Evan sighed and got up to leave.
It was the same old story, the same threats from Karen. She would always ask these: Had I not been good to you? Didn't I deserve to be your mother? I raised you; I risked my life, my status, everything for you."
Karen had sacrificed so much that she could keep using this to threaten Evan over and over again.
"Evan, if you dare to leave like this, just try it!" Karen was panicking, seeing determination in Evan's eyes.
"Evan!"
Evan left, ignoring Karen.
Karen covered her face in distress, crying uncontrollably.
It was all because of Jasmine, who had ruined the Wilson family. If it weren't for Jasmine, she and her son wouldn't be in this situation today, and the Wilson Group wouldn't be in this state.
It was all because of that troublemaker, Jasmine!
"Karen, my condolences." Annabelle walked in, wearing high heels in all black.
"Tomorrow is Serena's funeral. Don't you want Serena to see, to see the person she hated the most, the woman who stole twenty-one years of her life, fall from grace?" Annabelle spoke lightly,
Karen clenched her fists, looking up at Annabelle. "I've already had Alex call Jasmine. For Ethan's company's cooperation, Jasmine will definitely come to tomorrow's funeral."
Annabelle helped Karen up with a fake look of sadness. "Karen, seeing you like this breaks my heart. Serena was really lucky to have a mother like you."
Karen wiped her tears, saying nothing.
"I've arranged for the reporters. Everything is waiting for tomorrow's funeral. You need to show a bit more sadness. Let's make the news from six years ago a hit again." Annabelle sneered.
It took Annabelle a lot of effort to get those words out of Connor.
To replay the tragedy from six years ago, to make Jasmine live in the terror of public opinion again.
To make Jasmine hide away, like she did six years ago, never to come out again.
Serena's funeral was at Woodland Cemetery.
Not many people came, but Karen didn't notify many.
But there were quite a few reporters nearby.
"Are you really going?" Ethan asked repeatedly in the car, holding Jasmine's hand.
Jasmine nodded. "Avoiding it won't solve anything."
"I've made arrangements, don't worry." Ethan kissed Jasmine's forehead, encouraging her to be bold.
Jasmine knew that Karen would definitely pull some tricks today, just like she did six years ago.
Today, Jasmine wore a pure white dress, standing out among the sea of black.
Ethan got out of the car and followed behind Jasmine, who was holding an umbrella for her.
Jasmine held a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and walked into the hall under everyone's gaze.
Today, Benjamin was also there.
Karen, Evan, Benjamin, all three of them were present.
Jasmine walked to the front of the hall with the flowers, feeling like she was in a different world.
It was as if she had gone back six years.
Back then, Karen was her mother, Benjamin was her father, and Evan was her brother.
The past used to make her sad, grieving her loss of them, but not anymore.
It wasn't Jasmine who lost them; it was these people who lost Jasmine.
"Jasmine, how dare you show up? You're the one who killed Serena!" Karen began to cry uncontrollably.
Jasmine looked indifferently at Karen. Wasn't it Karen who had gone to great lengths to get her here?
"How dare you show your face to Serena? You stole twenty-one years of Serena's life, you harmed her, you took everything from her, and now you have the nerve to be here!"
"Jasmine, don't think you can be arrogant just because you've attached yourself to Ethan. We didn't invite you; get out!" Karen's family also shouted at Jasmine.
"Serena's funeral, you don't deserve to attend."
"I invited her!" This time, Evan stood up, shouting at those people, "I invited her. Serena did so many things to hurt Jasmine; shouldn't there be consequences?"
Karen looked shocked at Evan, not expecting the trouble to come from her own son.
"You're out of your mind!" Karen pointed at her son and shouted, then turned to the reporters outside. "It's Jasmine, pretending to be my daughter, stealing twenty-one years of Serena's life, causing Serena's depression and eventual demise! She even seduced my son Evan at home, made Evan fall in love with her, using this disgusting incest to disgust me!"
Evan looked shocked at Karen, feeling like Karen had truly gone mad to a frightening extent.
The reporters outside were all shocked, taking pictures and videos as if they had stumbled upon a huge secret.
"Therefore, Jasmine not only impersonated a rich girl, taking over someone else's life but also seduced her own brother."
Ethan looked at the reporters with cold eyes. "Do you think I'm a dead man?"
The reporters hesitated, nervously looking at Ethan.
However, Ethan's current situation doesn't have much intimidation power.
"Jasmine, in the twenty-one years at the Wilson family..." Evan clenched his fists, trembling all over. "She has never done anything to harm the Wilson family. Jasmine doesn't know anything. Why you won't let Jasmine go, why won't you let me go?"
Evan shouted at Karen, his eyes red, as if he was on the verge of a breakdown.
Benjamin furrowed his brows, looking at the reporters. "Alright, get Jasmine out of here. We didn't invite her to the funeral."
Jasmine had already pinched her palm until it bled, enduring the numbness in her body, and threw the white chrysanthemums she held to the ground in front of Karen. "Who said I came to attend the funeral?"
Jasmine turned back, her eyes red, looking at the reporters. "You wanted explosive material, right? I'll give it to you."
Jasmine took out her phone and played a video showing Benjamin with his mistress and their child. "The Wilson family's head, Benjamin, has a mistress outside and an illegitimate child."
Everyone, including Karen, was shocked.
Ethan stood behind Jasmine, looking at the Wilson family's security guards with cold eyes.
"Benjamin..." Just as Karen was about to accuse Jasmine of nonsense, a young woman carrying a child rushed in, looking scared. "Benjamin, Sebastian has a fever. I heard that you were in trouble."
All the reporters' cameras focused on this woman and the child in her arms.
