Chapter 682 Vincent is a Madman

"The Hamilton family adopted you back then to help Ethan. It's your duty." Jasmine frowned, unsure of what Vincent was planning.

Vincent laughed. "This world is insane. Duty? The Hamilton family adopted me to die in Ethan's place, so I'm supposed to be grateful? I've been Ethan's stand-in for so long, taking all the crap meant for him. Isn't it my turn to have everything he has?"

"Celeste was kind to you." Jasmine clenched her fingers.

"Celeste? She just hoped I could be her son's last card." Vincent leaned against the wall disdainfully, his long fingers playing with a pencil on the ground. "Even Ethan doesn't dare ask for my help, but you have the guts."

"You voluntarily stayed in the mental hospital, right? What are you avoiding?" Jasmine looked at Vincent and spoke again. "Why did you kill Maurice? What did he do to you? What's the use of getting everything from the Hamilton family? You're just a coward."

Vincent's eyes grew colder, staring intently at Jasmine.

"I heard Maurice was a pervert who liked to torture and abuse children. He sent you back to the orphanage when you were a teenager because you grew too fast, right?"

Jasmine was provoking Vincent.

Maurice only liked to abuse young children. Vincent, in his teenage years, was already nearly 5'7" tall, clearly growing too fast to keep Maurice's interest.

Jasmine knew that Vincent's early life was filled with darkness, fear, and hell.

Celeste and Juniper both felt guilty towards Vincent, so they preferred to bury this last card in Celeste's urn, deep underground, rather than use Vincent again.

Ethan also knew about Vincent's existence and knew that Vincent had once been kidnapped and tortured by kidnappers in his place.

"What did he do to you?" Jasmine was pushing Vincent step by step.

Vincent's eyes, full of gloom, grew fiercer, murderous intent rising. "Do you want to die?"

"What did those kidnappers do to you?" Jasmine ignored Vincent's anger and continued to provoke him.

Suddenly, Vincent grabbed Jasmine by the neck and pinned her against the wall.

Jasmine frowned in pain, looking at Vincent.

She had no choice. Even if everyone else was unwilling to use Vincent again, she had to try for Ethan's sake.

She needed someone reckless to help her deal with Owen—a stronger demon to face a demon. She wanted those who hurt her and Ethan to live in fear.

"It's not just you who has been through hell. And it's not just you who comes from the abyss," Jasmine said with difficulty, her face turning red.

Vincent suddenly let go of Jasmine's neck, breathing heavily as he knelt on the ground.

Perhaps the memories of the past had stung him.

"Who gave you the confidence to come to me?" Vincent pressed Jasmine's shoulder, trapping her wrists.

"You enjoy the thrill of the hunt, don't you?" Jasmine was gambling, betting that a madman like Vincent enjoyed the feeling of winning. "The Hawthorne family was behind Ethan's kidnapping. They should pay for your pain."

"Using me as a pawn?" Vincent laughed.

His gaze fell on the hideous scars on Jasmine's wrist from her suicide attempts, and he spoke again, "Jasmine, we are from the same world."

"Have you ever risked your life for someone?" Jasmine asked Vincent.

Vincent laughed. "I've only ever risked my life for myself."

No one was worth his life.

"Then risk it one more time for yourself," Jasmine shook off Vincent's hand. "If I can find you, Howard's people can find you. Even though Howard is dead, that guy named Mark who was with him is Owen's man. They'll probably find you soon."

Before Howard died, he had already dug up Celeste's grave.

Howard and Owen, along with those behind them, still feared the Hamilton family and Vincent as well.

"Visiting hours are over, and there's another guest waiting to see him," a nurse said, knocking on the door from outside.

Jasmine looked at Vincent. "See, they've come for you too."

Owen was not one to leave loose ends. If he really found Vincent, he wouldn't let him live.

"I like you a lot. Congratulations, you've convinced me." Vincent laughed with a hint of deeper meaning in his smile. "Tomorrow afternoon at three, meet me at the airport."

Jasmine raised an eyebrow. "Can you escape?"

"This mental hospital is mine now," Vincent said lazily.

Jasmine took a deep breath, carefully wiping the sweat from her palms.

Madman.

They were not from the same world.

She wasn't a madman.

However, she couldn't let her guard down. Vincent, this madman, was a double-edged sword. Used well, he could kill the enemy; used poorly, he could harm herself.

Such a madman didn't play by the rules. Owen would be afraid, and so was Jasmine.

But for now, there was no other way.

In the Hawthorne family, Owen grimly slapped Deborah. "Did you frame Christopher? Do you think this will get you into the Hawthorne family and inherit the business?"

Deborah's eyes reddened as she covered her mouth. "Dad."

"Don't call me Dad," Owen said angrily. "You're really something."

"Dad, even if it was me, did Avery have no part in it? How am I any less capable than Christopher? I've been helping you all these years," Deborah said unwillingly.

Owen snorted coldly. "What use is a woman?"

Deborah bit her lip in frustration.

Why? Christopher was clearly just an idiot.

"Sir!" Marcus rushed in from outside. "Something's happened."

"What's got you so flustered?" Owen said angrily.

"Jasmine dug up Celeste's grave," Marcus said, panic evident on his face.

Deborah looked at Marcus in shock. "What did you say?"

Was Jasmine crazy?

Owen's expression changed, and he looked at Deborah, speaking in a low voice, "Everyone, get out!"

Deborah, confused and wanting to ask something, was scared by Owen's anger.

"Why is Dad so scared about Jasmine digging up a grave?" Deborah was puzzled.

Marcus shook his head. "We don't know either. We just know that after Jasmine dug up the grave, she flew to Muskow."

Deborah frowned. Dug up the grave and then went to Muskow?

In the study, Owen hurriedly picked up his phone and dialed a number.

"Jasmine knows about the Hamilton family. If she gets hold of the Hamilton family's card, we will lose our advantage!"

Owen was worried. One Ethan was gone, and now another Hamilton family member had appeared.

"I had people watching the Douglas family for years and never found the Hamilton family's card, but Jasmine found it so quickly." The man's voice on the other end of the line was cold. "I always knew Celeste and Wesley left a card for Ethan. Celeste never revealed it until her death, waiting for this final step."

"If that person comes back to help the Douglas family and Jasmine, do we still have a chance?" Owen was panicking.

"Why panic? My people are already following Jasmine. Once we find him, he won't make it back to San Fransisco alive."

Owen clenched his fists. "You better make sure he doesn't come back alive. We've been planning this for years. We finally got rid of Howard and Ethan. We can't let it be ruined by Jasmine."

The man's voice on the other end was low. "Jasmine is a variable."
