Chapter 691 Is Edgar the Dumbest Person in the Cunningham family?

Edgar's face was grim, and he remained silent for a long time. "Fine, I'll go see him."

Deborah smiled. "I've seen your independent brand. You're a very capable person, never worse than Nolan. You shouldn't hand everything over to him. You deserve to control the Cunningham Group."

Edgar looked at Deborah. "You better guarantee that once I get control of the Cunningham Group, your father will marry Avery to me. If you back out, you know the consequences."

Deborah assured him, "Don't worry about that. Avery is driven by profit. If you have status, she will naturally marry you."

Moreover, if Edgar became the president of the Cunningham Group, his status would certainly be different from now.

Edgar clasped his hands and said no more.

"My dad has been busy these days. Once he handles these trivial matters, he will meet you personally. Looking forward to your good news." Deborah stood up with a smile and waved at Edgar.

In her heart, she cursed Edgar for being stupid.

Sure enough, Sophia was right. Edgar was the dumbest and easiest to deceive.

To take down the Cunningham family, it was necessary to break the relationship between the three of them.

Sophia had someone named Lily who had already seduced Edward of the Cunningham family. Once Edward also got involved in the fight for control of the Cunningham Group, they would turn against each other completely.

By then, the Cunningham family would be in turmoil, both internally and externally, and would no longer be a threat.

As for Jasmine, without Ethan and the Cunningham Group, she wouldn't be able to do much.

As for Betty, Sophia had already had Aleah lure Richard away. Now, Richard only had eyes for Aleah, which meant the Sanders Group was essentially in Sophia's hands.

Deborah had united all the forces she could, sowing discord in all the relationships around Jasmine that could be used.

She was just waiting to deliver a heavy blow to the Douglas Group.

Without Ethan, Jasmine was not a threat in Deborah's eyes.

She just needed to wait for Edgar's good news.

Leaning back in his chair, Edgar watched Deborah leave and eagerly picked up his phone. "Avery, I did everything you said. Can I come back to sleep tonight? I miss you."

"Did she believe you?" Avery asked indifferently.

"Of course, I disguised myself well!" Edgar was quite proud.

"If I really let you compete with Nolan for control of the Cunningham Group, would you do it?" Avery asked.

Edgar laughed. "These people don't know how much Nolan wants Edward and me to join the company and help him. If he could avoid being president, he would have run away long ago! No need to compete; Nolan would give it to me and throw a big party at home saying I've grown up."

Avery was helpless. The Cunningham family was indeed different from their Hawthorne family.

Clearing her throat, Avery smiled and said, "Do you know why Deborah believes you?"

"Because I disguised myself well." Edgar was still proud.

"Wrong. Because she thinks you're the dumbest among your brothers." Avery raised an eyebrow and hung up the phone.

Edgar looked at his phone with resentment.

He thought, 'Me, dumb? Nonsense. Among the four Cunningham siblings, besides Jasmine and Edward, I am the smartest. The dumbest is clearly Nolan.'

Edgar didn't agree with this at all.

He should at least be second to last.

"So, can I come back to sleep tonight?" Edgar quickly called Avery again.

At Nolan's place, Amelia had nearly wrapped up her shopping spree. She bought a house, furnished it, and invested in gold and appreciating assets, just waiting for Nolan to kick her out.

He hadn't been home for a long time, always claiming to work late, probably planning to get rid of her.

As long as Nolan stayed away, Amelia was in a great mood, shopping, doing face masks, watching movies, browsing short videos, liking Nathaniel's posts, becoming his fan, managing his three fan groups, and using Nolan's money to give out gifts in the groups.

Under Nolan's schemes, Nathaniel was busy with work every day. In the little time he had, he would video call Amelia to make her happy.

Amelia had been very fulfilled recently.

Just as Amelia was applying a face mask and video chatting with Nathaniel, Nolan unexpectedly came back!

Amelia quickly ended the video call and reluctantly looked at Nolan. "Why are you back?"

Nolan frowned. He had been working overtime for days and was about to go crazy.

He looked at Amelia with resentment and said in a deep voice, "This is my home."

Amelia expressionlessly said, "Oh. Then go to sleep."

After saying that, Amelia, still wearing her face mask, walked to her room and closed the door, leaving it very quiet.

Nolan stood there, raising his hand to rub his temples.

He thought that as soon as he walked in, Amelia would rush over to hug him, cling to him, and ask if he was tired, hungry, or thirsty.

He remembered when Amelia thought he was a male model and said she would support him financially. She almost always wanted to be with him as soon as he got home.

At that time, he just thought young girls were hard to please, too clingy, and annoying.

But now, when he wanted Amelia to cling to him, she avoided him.

Suddenly, the quietness made Nolan feel a bit uncomfortable.

He thought Amelia would happily cook for him and relieve his overtime fatigue. But unexpectedly, it was even colder than when he was alone.

Returning to his room, he took a shower and lay on the bed, exhausted.

Suddenly, his hand touched something furry and soft; then, feeling a wet bed sheet, Nolan sat up abruptly, lifted the quilt, and saw a small cat already under his covers.

"Amelia!" Nolan shouted angrily.

He had a cleanliness obsession and particularly hated furry things.

Allowing Amelia to keep the cat at home was already respected her a lot, but she let the cat on his bed!

Amelia was about to continue her video call with Nathaniel when she heard Nolan's angry shout.

"What's the shouting for?" Amelia said softly, reluctantly opening the door. "What?"

Nolan, with a grim face, grabbed Amelia and pulled her into his room, throwing her onto the bed.

Amelia was about to say something when she saw the pitiful, furry little cat.

"Why are you on his bed?" Amelia, feeling guilty, nervously picked up the kitten. "It's still small."

Nolan felt very angry. "Get out!"

Amelia, holding the kitten, jumped off the bed and ran to the living room.

After playing with the kitten for a while, she put it in its cage and tiptoed back to her room, only to see Nolan, wrapped in a towel after taking another shower, standing at her door.

"You..."

Before Amelia could finish her sentence, Nolan pulled her over, pressed her against the wall, and kissed her.

He was retaliating against her.

"What are you doing!" Amelia didn't want him to touch her.

She used to like clinging to him.

Nolan felt inexplicably irritated.

"I paid, so what do you think I'm doing?" Nolan picked her up and pressed her onto the bed. "Don't make me angry; you know the consequences."
