Chapter 401 Would Arnold Become Ethan's Rival

"Is this your daughter?" Arnold asked.

Cordelia acted like she didn't hear him and hurriedly got Jasmine into the car. "That's none of your business."

Arnold just smiled meaningfully and said nothing.

"Jasmine, you go back to the Cunningham family with Cordelia first. I have some things to handle here at the Douglas family," Ethan told Jasmine to leave first,

Claire was right; he wanted to destroy Howard, not the Douglas family.

His grandfather and mother left him the Douglas Group. Even though it was worthless, he still wanted to take it back.

Since Arnold was here, he couldn't leave just yet.

Jasmine knew what Ethan wanted to do, so she nodded. "I'll be waiting for you at home."

Ethan felt warm inside and smiled.

Having a smart, sensible, obedient, and well-behaved wife made him want to brag about it on Facebook.

"Do you need help?" Edward asked,

"No, I can handle it. See you at home," Ethan said, patting Edward on the shoulder.

Edward took the lead and kicked Edgar, who was standing nearby. "Let's go."

Edgar was still drawing on the Douglas family gate with a brick.

Ethan looked helplessly at the dirty, messy door. "Edgar, this house is mine."

The house was indeed his.

He had to get it back.

"When you get it back, I'll replace the door for you," Edgar said generously.

"Alright..." Ethan signaled Edward to pull Edgar away quickly.

The Cunningham family members were all very smart, but Edgar was a bit foolish.

"Mr. Sanders, I'm sorry. My dad suddenly fell ill and was just sent to the hospital." Lisa hurried over to greet Arnold.

The Douglas family knew Arnold's capabilities and clearly saw him as someone who could save the day.

When Annabelle saw Arnold arrive, she quickly tidied up her appearance and walked over with a smile.

Even without the Everhart or Cunningham families, as long as they could secure Arnold, the Douglas family could still stand firm in Silverlight City.

Arnold was a typical businessman, and both Annabelle and Howard were confident they could reach a deal with him.

"It seems I came at a bad time," Arnold nodded and checked the time. "Since your dad went to the hospital, I'll head back for now and let him rest."

"Mr. Sanders, since you're here, why not stay for dinner?" Annabelle approached with a smile, a mix of innocence and seduction.

Betty leaned against the side, rolling her eyes with a cold sneer. "Others attract men, you're seducing them."

Annabelle's face turned sour, and she glared at Betty.

"Mr. Sanders, my dad heard you were coming and wanted to have dinner with you. Please accept the invitation," Betty stood up straight, clearly competing with the Douglas family.

Annabelle was so angry she clenched her fists. Betty was too much!

Arnold glanced at Annabelle, then at Betty. "Mrs. Hughes."

Betty was Steven Hughes' wife and his heir, so it was appropriate for Arnold to call her Mrs. Hughes.

But Betty was now married to Richard, and Arnold's address would obviously upset Richard.

Richard frowned, showing great hostility towards Arnold.

He reached out and held Betty's hand, saying nothing but clearly asserting his position.

Arnold noticed the young man's displeasure and smiled lightly. "I'm in a bit of a rush today; I'll visit the Willer family next time."

"Mr. Sanders, you must be tired from your flight. Please, come this way and rest a bit," Annabelle said with a smile, clearly enjoying the situation.

Betty leaned on Richard's shoulder, watching Annabelle's fawning behavior.

Arnold nodded and entered the Douglas family home.

His attitude was clear; Arnold was now more inclined to cooperate with the Douglas family.

After all, the Douglas Group was still the leading enterprise in Silverlight City.

"Howard is impressive to have Arnold value him so much." Betty glanced at Ethan.

"I'll handle things here, you all head back first," Ethan reassured Betty.

"Ethan, once Arnold and the Douglas Group collaborate, it will be very difficult to take down Howard in a short time," Betty reminded Ethan.

Ethan, of course, knew this and frowned without saying a word.

Arnold had disrupted all their plans.

Ethan hadn't expected Howard to be so formidable, able to invite Arnold.

"Ethan..." Annabelle walked a few steps with Arnold, smiling as she called Ethan's name as if trying to make a friendly gesture. "Ethan, Daniel went to the hospital. The Douglas family still needs you to hold it together. Mr. Sanders is here. Let's go together."

Lisa glared at him from the side and whispered, "He makes people uncomfortable."

Ethan walked over with a cold expression. "Mr. Sanders, this way, please."

Arnold inexplicably glanced back at Richard beside Betty.

Shaking his head, he went inside.

At the door, Richard held Betty's wrist vigilantly, only pulling her into his arms when no one was around. "Let's go home."

Betty knew that Richard was very sensitive about others calling her Mrs. Hughes.

"Richard." Betty also knew that Richard was just an ordinary person, and being with her must put a lot of psychological pressure on him.

She could ignore what others said behind their backs, but Richard would care.

She wanted Richard to be happy with her, but ever since they got together, Richard seemed to be on edge every day, always trying to prove himself.

He was really tired.

"What's wrong?" Richard asked as he led Betty to the car,

"Do you regret marrying me?" Betty asked softly, "Are you tired?"

Richard was taken aback for a moment, realizing that Betty had noticed his emotions.

He tightened his grip on Betty's fingers and shook his head. "I don't regret it. Those negative things are nothing compared to you."

He could work hard to become stronger and would strive to be worthy of Betty.

No matter what others said, he could ignore it.

Because none of it compared to Betty.

Betty leaned on Richard's shoulder. "I don't want you to be too tired. I wish I could cover your ears and shield your eyes..."

So Richard wouldn't hear those bad words.

"Recently, there have been too many people saying bad things. We haven't even announced our marriage so that these words couldn't have spread. It must be Braden." Richard wasn't stupid; it affected his mood, but he knew someone was doing it on purpose.

Trying to provoke his fragile self-esteem to make him leave Betty.

He wasn't that foolish.

"Is Richard this smart now?" Betty's mood improved instantly. Ignoring the fact that the driver was in the car, she boldly straddled Richard's lap.

The driver didn't dare to look back, coughed, and silently raised the partition.

Richard's ears turned red from Betty's bold move, but he couldn't do anything about it.

Betty was too charming, always able to make him lose control.

"Stop it..." Richard's voice was low and hoarse as he held Betty's restless hands. "We're in the car; wait until we get home..."

"Richard, you look a lot like Arnold."

Betty also noticed that Richard would definitely be as handsome as Arnold when he reached middle age.
