Chapter 831 Jasmine and Daniel Have Been Kidnapped
"I won't lie to you again," Nolan whispered, tentatively raising his hand to wrap around Amelia from behind.
Amelia, groggy, did not push Nolan's hand away.
Nolan carefully lowered his arm, then slowly and gently pulled her into his embrace, holding her tightly.
He had never imagined that one day he would give his heart completely to her, feeling content with just a simple hug.
Since leaving Silverlight City, Nolan felt like he was dreaming.
In the past, he never thought he would give up his job for Amelia.
"Nolan, you jerk," Amelia mumbled in her sleep, cursing him. In both reality and dreams, he was not a good person.
Nolan smiled and tightened his hold on Amelia.
This was fine too. Even if she never forgave him, he would atone for his sins for the rest of his life.
Boston.
"I've already stationed people at all the exits of Boston. It's very difficult for anyone to leave the city," Henry said, frowning at Ethan. "Is this what you meant by protecting her?"
"Jasmine should have contacted you as soon as she arrived in your territory, right?" Ethan asked in a deep voice.
Henry snorted. Nothing could be hidden from Ethan. "Jasmine will be fine. My people are keeping an eye on her."
"If I hadn't had Raymond trick you into coming here, were you planning to keep this from me forever?" Ethan grabbed Henry by the collar.
"I have no right to inform you. This is a secret between Jasmine and me," Henry sneered, pushing Ethan's hand away. "I never said I would give up on Jasmine. Why would I tell you about such a good opportunity?"
Ethan suppressed his anger, recognizing that it was not the time to argue with Henry."Where is Jasmine?"
"Jasmine is smart. She knows Kavi's people will eliminate all threats, so she deliberately spread the rumor that Daniel found a USB drive, prompting Kavi's people to act," Henry said, pushing Ethan away to keep his distance.
"Kavi is naturally suspicious. Without confirming whether the USB drive contains his incriminating evidence, he won't easily kill Daniel. He will have someone take Daniel away and force him to reveal the USB drive's whereabouts." Henry continued.
Jasmine's plan was to meet Kavi with Daniel.
Steven and Richard's kidnapping didn't lure Kavi out because Kavi knew Steven too well and didn't trust him, so he didn't dare to show up.
But Jasmine and Daniel might be able to trick Kavi into appearing.
As long as Kavi was temporarily present at the kidnapping scene, this served as evidence of his involvement in the kidnapping, and he could be detained for the time being.
"Kavi is so cautious that he definitely wouldn't still be in the country," Raymond frowned.
Kavi was likely in Moscow. Steven and Richard couldn't lure him out, and this was Boston.
"Mark's hometown is Boston, and I heard Kavi's ancestors' home is also in Boston. Jasmine suspects Kavi never returned to Moscow but stayed in Boston," Henry said, looking at Ethan. "The evidence is too important to him. It likely contains incriminating evidence against many people. If he doesn't destroy it, he wouldn't dare return to Moscow."
Staying in the country was exactly what Jasmine wanted.
They could find a reason to have the police control him, making it easier to gather evidence without being too passive.
"Jasmine truly lives up to being Ethan's wife, she's ruthless enough.," Raymond muttered, looking at the car being pulled up from under the overpass.
Ethan's face was grim and very displeased.
Clearly, Jasmine had kept all this from him.
Because Jasmine knew Ethan was too worried about her. If he knew her plan, he would never agree to it.
Sure enough, Ethan was already very angry.
He just wanted to take her home to punish her.
He had only been away for a few days, and she was already causing trouble.
"They're in an abandoned guesthouse in the southern mountains," Henry's assistant ran over, saying Jasmine and Daniel were in the southern mountains.
Ethan's face darkened, and he turned to get in the car.
"Ethan, wait for Jasmine's signal. Don't ruin the plan now," Henry shouted, worried Ethan would mess up Jasmine's plan.
Ethan didn't care about any plan. He only knew he couldn't let Jasmine get hurt.
Abandoned Guesthouse.
The scenery in the southern part of Boston was very beautiful, with birds singing, fragrant flowers, and vast forests. The high oxygen levels made it a perfect place for retirement.
Daniel was thrown to the ground and kicked a few times, spitting out some water from his stomach as he slowly woke up.
Jasmine wasn't as disheveled as Daniel. She was a good swimmer and wasn't affected underwater. She pretended to be unconscious to see if Kavi was in Boston.
"Awake?" The leader grabbed Daniel's hair and pulled him up.
Daniel frowned, taking a while to react, nervously looking at Jasmine. "Jasmine."
Jasmine slowly opened her eyes, pretending to be panicked. "Where is this place?"
"I heard Mark left you a USB drive? Let's not waste time. Tell me where it is, and you won't suffer," the man said, patting Daniel's face. "If you don't cooperate, I'll cut off her fingers in front of you."
With that, the man moved towards Jasmine with a knife.
"Don't touch her!" Daniel lost control, his eyes red as he shouted.
Jasmine thought the man was crazy. "If you're going to interrogate, just do it. Why cut my fingers?"
The leader grabbed Jasmine's hand, looking at Daniel. "You have ten seconds to think."
"I don't know. I really don't know," Daniel panicked, shaking his head.
He really didn't know about any USB drive.
"I'll tell you," Jasmine said as the knife was about to fall. "He gave me the USB drive. It's with me. I opened it, but it's encrypted. My friend is still deciphering the password."
The man looked at Jasmine warily. "Tell me where the USB drive is."
"If I tell you, will Daniel and I have any chance of survival? I've already made ten copies. If anything happens to us, the decrypted contents will be made public." Jasmine lowered her voice.
The man was furious, tightening his grip on Jasmine's neck.
"Enough," Kavi said, coming out of the room.
Clearly, hearing about the USB drive made him anxious. He needed to get the USB drive quickly.
Jasmine looked at Kavi, sneering. He was indeed in Boston.
Now, he couldn't escape.
"Young lady, tell me where the USB drive is, and I'll let you go," Kavi said kindly, trying to deceive Jasmine.
Jasmine smiled. "Kavi, this is kidnapping. You're breaking the law."
Kavi squinted. "The Cunningham family's member is indeed calm in the face of danger, but it's a pity."
He didn't dare harm Jasmine for now but was desperate to get the USB drive.
"I heard you have two sons and recently had a daughter. If something happens to you, the Cunningham family will be in chaos. I had someone inform your mother. Now, Cordelia is on her way to Boston. The Cunningham family is isolated and helpless. My people should have already taken your two sons and Betty and Steven's daughter." Kavi smiled.
He deliberately had someone inform Cordelia, intending to completely throw the Cunningham family into chaos, leaving them too preoccupied to care for the children, giving him an opportunity to take advantage.
Jasmine was stunned, struggling in panic. At this moment, she could only pray that Cordelia could handle everything.
