Chapter 392 Nolan Began to Compensate Jasmine

In the smoking area, Nolan's hand holding the cigarette stiffened.
Nolan was silent for a long time before hanging up.
Although he had investigated what Jasmine had gone through, the investigation was just a statement at that time.
No one could put themselves in her shoes to understand Jasmine's feelings back then.
Nolan took a deep drag on his cigarette and crushed the butt in his hand.
Feeling suffocated, he tugged at his tie before punching the wall, his trembling fingers now bleeding, with blood dripping from his fingertips. He hated himself, hated that he knew too late, that he didn't protect her instead hurt her.
The words he had said in the past had now become knives stabbing into himself.
Nolan's residence.
Amelia was running around the room barefoot.
Although the apartment wasn't big, it was very expensive in the center of Silverlight City. For a male escort to live in such a nice place, the monthly rent must be high.
So she had to give him a lot of money.
Running into the bathroom, Amelia looked at Nolan's toiletries. All custom-made.
This male escort made so much money!
Amelia then ran to Nolan's master bedroom and looked at his bedding.
All luxury brands! She couldn't afford such expensive bedding.
She laughed angrily, crossed her arms, and sat on the sofa.
A set of bedding cost tens of thousands of dollars, and the mattress cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Offering a hundred thousand dollars to keep him for three months seemed too little.
The door opened, and Nolan walked in, looking a bit disheveled.
Amelia stood up nervously and glanced at Nolan.
His tie was loose, his buttons were undone, his hand was injured, and his eyes were red.
"You! What's wrong with you?" Amelia rushed over, speaking nervously, "Did you get into trouble? Did those jerks at the bar bully you? Tell me, and I'll go beat them up!"
Amelia was very angry, rolling up her sleeves and ready to charge out.
Nolan was stunned for a moment before he realized he had brought someone home.
"No, I hurt myself. Go to sleep and leave tomorrow," Nolan said in a deep voice,
"I..." Amelia struggled with her thoughts for a long time, calculating her current allowance and the value of her bags and jewelry. She figured she could scrape together about three million dollars. "I'll give you three million dollars. Can you stay with me for three months?"
Nolan's steps toward the bathroom halted, and he turned to look at Amelia. This fool had somehow managed to grow up safely.
Amelia was a bit nervous, worried that Nolan would think it was too little. "This is all my savings. Just consider it helping me out."
Nolan walked over to the sofa and sat down. "The first aid kit is over there. Do you know how to treat wounds?"
Amelia made an OK gesture, ran over to get the first aid kit, and came back to treat his wounds. "Do you have a rival?"
Nolan didn't say anything.
"My name is Amelia. What's your name?" Amelia chattered on.
"Nolan," Nolan said casually, looking down to see his hand wrapped in gauze with a bow tied to it.
Nolan felt a headache coming on. "You don't seem to know how to bandage wounds."
"Don't get it wet," Amelia told Nolan seriously, warning him not to touch water.
Nolan smiled and leaned back on the sofa. "Do you have a brother?"
Amelia sat next to Nolan, swinging her feet. "I don't have a brother, but my stepmother gave me a younger brother."
Amelia had run away from home because she overheard a conversation between her stepmother and brother that day.
Her stepmother said that everything in the Carter family should belong to her brother and that Amelia was just an extra.
She got so angry that she argued with her stepmother. During the argument, her stepmother insulted her late mother, so Amelia slapped her.
Her stepmother then went to her father and badmouthed her. Amelia, being hot-tempered, refused to explain or marry that scumbag Adam, so she ran away.
Now, she had nowhere to go, feeling particularly miserable.
"So if you had a brother who made mistakes and said a lot of hurtful things, how could he make it up to you for you to forgive him?" Nolan asked softly,
Amelia thought for a moment. "A real brother? Blood-related? From the same mother?"
Nolan found Amelia's thought process a bit odd. "Yes."
"There's nothing you can do. No matter how many mistakes he makes, you can't sever the blood relationship," Amelia said softly,
Just like her father, no matter how disappointed or desperate she felt, he was still her father, and they were blood-related. That couldn't be severed.
Reaching the point of severing the father-daughter relationship seemed unlikely.
"Since you can't sever the relationship, you might as well ask your brother for more compensation." Amelia thought. "If it were me, I'd want a house, a car, purses, jewelry—everything a girl likes. If he buys me those, I'll forgive him."
Nolan sat up straight, looking at Amelia. "That simple?"
"It's not simple. The people these days are very stingy."
Amelia laughed.
Nolan had already started calculating. It seemed that just giving Jasmine a villa was too little.
He needed to get her a car, jewelry, luxury items, purses, and clothes.
Jasmine should have everything others had, too.
All the things she had missed out on over the years had to be made up for!
Ethan's Place.
Jasmine was sitting in the bathtub when she sneezed.
"Are you catching a cold?" Ethan walked in, wrapped a towel around Jasmine, lifted her out, and held her tightly in his arms.
"At today's party, Zelda hit Annabelle." Jasmine was quite excited, just wanting to see them argue.

"Look at the news." Ethan handed the phone to Jasmine.

Jasmine leaned on Ethan's shoulder, looking at the latest news.

This was explosive!

Zelda hit Annabelle on the spot, and Annabelle bribed the people at the testing agency to forge a paternity test!

"This way, Annabelle pretending to be the heiress of the Cunningham family becomes real." Jasmine leaned on Ethan's shoulder. "Howard and Claire thought they married a treasure for their son; how stupid."

"Coincidentally, Howard suddenly reached out, saying tomorrow is his birthday, and asked me to come home," Ethan smirked. "I want to go back and watch the show."

Jasmine whispered, "Does he know my identity?"

That Jasmine was the real heiress of the Cunningham family.

"Cordelia's idea is to keep it from outsiders, for now, to protect you. Howard probably doesn't know; asking me to come back is likely pretending to forgive me." Ethan speculated. Howard must have realized Daniel's limited capabilities by now.

The Douglas Group was under heavy pressure and definitely needed someone capable of managing it.

Ethan surmised Howard might attempt reconciliation, but it was past due. He didn't require the Douglas Group to uphold his status.
