Chapter 247 Is Richard May's Son?

"After Wilson was kicked out by the Wilson Family, she discovered she was pregnant shortly after. Initially, she wanted to have an abortion, but she was weak, and a miscarriage could have led to severe bleeding, with her uterus being difficult to preserve. But even if she decided to keep the child, her life would still be at risk."

Richard lowered his head, feeling guilty, and tightly clasped his hands. "Wilson hesitated for a long time before deciding to keep the child. At that time, our family was poor, and I had just retired due to an injury, so we didn't have much money. I gave May all my savings, hoping that she could take care of Wilson, but..."

Richard sighed; Wilson had indeed suffered too much.

"Wilson was mature. She endured her suffering all by herself and never told me. After she became pregnant, she hardly went to the hospital for regular check-ups. When it was almost time for her to give birth, my mother took her to a clinic in town run by my aunt."

Richard felt immensely guilty toward Wilson.

"Were you there at that time?" Ethan asked sorrowfully.

Just the thought of how much suffering Wilson had endured after going to the Wilson Family made Ethan feel suffocated.

"When Wilson gave birth, she almost died." Richard was on the verge of tears. "After she delivered Justin, the doctor said the child survived, but there was another one behind, and because the amniotic fluid had been ruptured for too long, it might not survive."

"Later, the doctor also delivered that child. The child was completely purple and didn't make any sound or movement. The doctor said it was a stillborn, so my mother took care of it."

Richard glanced at Ethan. "I have never told Wilson about this; I was afraid it would make her sad. Mr. Ethan Douglas, how did you find out about this?"

Ethan took a deep breath and leaned against the car. He felt a bit unsteady on his feet.

"Have you ever thought that the child might not be dead?"

Richard was shocked. "Impossible! I held that child. The body was stiff and turning purple. I didn't hear any crying."

Ethan looked at Richard and felt he wasn't lying.

He suspected that May had deceived them.

"That child didn't die." Ethan didn't hide it from Richard either. "I suspect your mother might have sold that child."

Richard was stunned for a long time. He opened his mouth and then closed it.
After a while, he said, "Sold the child?"

"You should go to Mitchell tomorrow and do a paternity test. Wilson is not May's daughter, nor your sister. I now suspect that you are not May's son either," Ethan's voice was low.

Richard stood frozen in place, finding it hard to accept this revelation. "What did you say? Wilson is not my sister? What do you mean?"

"You two have no blood relation, and Wilson is not related to May either," Ethan explained again.

Richard started breathing heavily.

"No. This can't be true!" May had already admitted that she had switched Wilson and Serena's identities.

"My mother indeed got pregnant and gave birth to a daughter, I know this," Richard remembered this because May was pregnant and gave birth to a daughter. "At that time, she was at a hospital in our hometown, Westing Town. Although I was young, I remember it."

Ethan frowned. "A hospital in Westing Town?"

Richard nodded.

"It seems that things are more complicated than I thought," Ethan said, squinting his eyes.

"It's getting late, I'm afraid Wilson will wake up and get scared if she finds me not at home. Don't tell anyone about this, there must be a bigger conspiracy behind this. Remember, go to this place, find Mitchell early tomorrow, and don't tell anyone." Ethan handed Richard Mitchell's business card.

After a moment of silence, Ethan said again, "Richard, although I don't fully trust you, Wilson believes in you. Don't betray her trust."

Richard took the business card and nodded. "Mr. Ethan Douglas, I understand what you mean."

He knew he couldn't reveal this to anyone.

He wondered, 'Wilson isn't even my sister?

'Then who is my real sister?'

Serena is indeed the daughter of the Wilson family, there is no doubt about it. The Wilson family had conducted a paternity test back then.

Richard stood there in shock, trying to recall the scene from that time.

Years ago, when Wilson was born, he was still very young, but he did have some vague memories.

He had a slight impression of the hospital and the ward.

Wilson slept well at Ethan's place. She woke up in the middle of the night and found Ethan was not home.

She panicked and looked around, searching for Ethan's presence.

Ethan was not home.

"Ethan!

"Ethan?"

Wilson felt scared.

She was afraid to be alone at night.

"Ethan, where are you?" Wilson's eyes turned red, and she fearfully dialed Ethan's phone.

"Wilson, look out the window."

Wilson's breath instantly calmed. She wiped away the tears from her eyes.

She ran to the side of the bed and looked outside through the phone.

Ethan was standing in the yard, waving at Wilson. He held two glow sticks in his hand. "Can't sleep? Come down and set off fireworks."

Wilson laughed, hung up the phone, and ran outside.

She thought to herself, 'So he's here. He hasn't disappeared.'

In the yard, Ethan opened his arms, holding the glowing glow sticks.

Wilson was deeply moved and wanted to hug him.

She ran toward him and jumped into Ethan's arms.

Listening to his heartbeat, her mood calmed down.

"Did you have insomnia?" Wilson asked softly.

"I suddenly wanted to surprise you," Ethan said softly, leaning down to kiss Wilson's hair.

"Should we wake the kids up?" Looking at the glow sticks, Wilson thought, 'These are toys that kids like, right?'

"No, don't wake them up. We rarely have alone time." Ethan looked at Wilson happily, holding her tightly. "Wilson."

"What's wrong?"

"Do you love me?" Ethan suddenly understood that he was also afraid of losing Wilson and felt inferior because of loving her.

He thought he would never have this feeling in his life.

Wilson hugged Ethan nervously.

She thought to herself, 'Do I love him? I'm scared.'

"It's okay. It doesn't matter if you don't love me." Ethan's voice sounded hoarse. "I will love you."

"Okay." Wilson's voice also sounded hoarse.

"Don't leave me, don't fall in love with someone else, don't have any contact with Daniel again," Ethan grumbled.

Betty's words were so cruel. Ethan obviously took her words to heart tonight.

He didn't care if Daniel would break the engagement with the Wilson family, but he was sure Daniel would come to pester Wilson.

"No, I won't leave you unless you don't love me," Wilson replied softly.

"I won't fall in love with anyone else." Wilson thought that there was no one better than Ethan.

"I won't have any emotional connection with Daniel either," Wilson could only assure herself with a sense of anxiousness because she still wanted to help Ethan deal with Claire.

Ethan smiled. "Why are you so obedient?"

"I will be obedient." Wilson lowered her head and leaned into Ethan's embrace, chokingly saying, "So Ethan, don't abandon me."
