Chapter 273 Will Wilson forgive Ethan?
Capital Hospital.
Wilson walked numbly behind Nolan, heading towards the ward.
Her mind was blank along the way.
She didn't know what she was thinking.
Was Ethan the person from that night six years ago?
Henry must be lying.
If it was Ethan, why did he keep it a secret from her?
Would he feel happy seeing her acting like a fool in front of him?
Ethan isn't that kind of person.
Wilson tightly clenched her hands. Henry is lying, for sure.
"Wilson." Richard waited outside the ward, feeling a bit worried.
"Brother. What did the doctor say?" Wilson nervously ran over.
"He said we need to come up with a treatment plan as soon as possible, to ensure we don't miss the optimal window." Richard looked at Wilson. "What did Henry say?"
"He said... he's not the father of the child." Wilson's voice trembled.
Richard's expression changed. "Didn't they have a paternity test? Could it be fake?"
Wilson's eyes turned red, she wasn't sure.
If Henry really isn't Justin's father, where can she find Justin's biological father now?
"He lied to me." Wilson choked up.
"This bastard, he's going to delay the child's treatment." Richard's emotions became somewhat agitated.
Nolan stood aside, furrowing his brows. He was clearly worried, but the words that came out had a different meaning. "Not even knowing who his son's biological father is, how chaotic is your personal life."
Wilson lowered her head with teary eyes, tightly gripping her hands.
"Mr. Li, thank you for bringing my sister here, but you don't understand her situation, so please refrain from making unkind judgments." Richard felt sorry for Wilson.
Nolan snorted and turned to the doctor's office. On his way there, he had already contacted the experts and attending physicians on this side.
Wilson sat weakly on the bench, trembling all over.
Holding the phone in his hand, Wilson remained silent for a long time before finally deciding to ask Ethan.
"Honey, I'm on my way to pick you up." As soon as the call connected, Ethan affectionately spoke.
Upon hearing his voice, Wilson couldn't control the tears that welled up in her eyes. She couldn't believe that all of this was not real.
She couldn't believe that Ethan had been deceiving her all along.
"Ethan, Justin is sick in the hospital." Wilson's voice was hoarse as she constantly choked.
On the other end of the phone, the sound of Ethan slamming on the brakes could be heard.
Wilson felt worried and held onto the phone anxiously. "Take it easy."
"Don't panic, I'll be there right away." Despite being frantic himself, Ethan tried to reassure Wilson.
Unable to control herself, Wilson covered her face and burst into tears.
What should she do?
If what Henry said was true, what should she do?
It has been six years.
She had never been able to truly let go.
‘Ring-ring.’ Wilson's phone rang.
It was an unknown call.
Wilson snapped back to reality, wiped her tears, and answered the call.
"Miss Wilson, I am Assistant Ben, Mr. Jiang's assistant." The caller was Ben.
Wilson was taken aback for a moment and spoke softly. "Henry said he's not Justin's father, is that true?"
On the other end of the phone, Ben remained silent for a moment. "I'm sorry, Miss Wilson. I've been keeping it from you. That paternity test was forged by Mr. Jiang. I'm sorry."
"Why would you do such a thing?" Wilson choked up, her breathing becoming difficult.
"I'm sorry." Ben's voice also carried a sense of guilt. "Please don't let it interfere with the child's treatment. I'm sorry."
"You're all so heartless." Wilson hung up the phone and hugged herself as she broke down in tears.
Why did Henry treat her like this?
Hadn't she suffered enough over the years? Why did he have to come and deceive her?
SHC Group.
With the call ended by Wilson, Ben lowered his head in guilt and remained silent for a long time.
"What did she say?" Henry, sitting in the back seat on the speeding highway, nervously asked.
"Miss Wilson said we're all too heartless." Ben's guilt reached its peak, and his voice became a bit hoarse.
Henry didn't say anything.
The atmosphere in the car was heavy and tense.
"I've already told Wilson that Ethan is the biological father of the child," Henry spoke in a deep voice.
"Mr. Jiang, Mr. Ethan has always been afraid that Wilson would find out the truth ever since six years ago. Even if you tell Wilson, what if Mr. Ethan doesn't cooperate? What about the child?" Ben expressed his concerns.
"Then let's take a gamble." Henry frowned, clenching his hands.
He indeed had a gambling mentality.
If Ethan worried that Wilson would discover the truth and chose to continue deceiving and hiding it, the child's condition and treatment time would be delayed, and Wilson would never forgive Ethan.
"Mr. Jiang, love is not a game," Ben said meaningfully, no longer speaking.
"Life itself is a game, whether it's love, kinship, or friendship." In Henry's values and upbringing, interpersonal relationships were always a game.
It was like that in the business world, as well as in reality.
Ben sighed and didn't say anything.
He had followed Henry for many years and understood Henry too well. Henry wasn't inherently bad; it was just that everyone's upbringing and values were different, leading to different choices.
Capital Hospital.
Ethan ran up to Wilson, panting heavily, and tugged on his tie as he squatted down. "Wilson, how is Justin doing?"
Wilson looked up at Ethan, his eyes showing some complexity.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here." Ethan raised his hand, wanting to comfortingly wipe away Wilson's tears.
But Wilson instinctively dodged, avoiding him in fear.
Ethan's hand froze for a moment, and his breathing gradually slowed down.
"The doctor said that Justin's biological father needs to cooperate with the examination to develop the best treatment plan." Wilson looked at Ethan, his voice trembling.
She didn't want to believe that Ethan was the same person from six years ago.
But if he really was, why did he lie? Why did he hide it?
Now that Justin is critically ill and in need of his father's cooperation, will he reveal the truth?
"Wilson, how much longer until Henry arrives?" Richard came out of the doctor's office and asked anxiously.
"No need to wait for Henry," Ethan held Wilson's fingers and stared at her intensely. "Wilson, wait for me to explain. Okay? Henry is not Justin's father, I am."
Ethan, unexpectedly, admitted it.
Tears finally couldn't be held back, and Wilson couldn't control her emotions as she cried.
Ethan's eyes were also slightly red, and he reached out to hug Wilson but she avoided him.
His heart ached intensely, and he spoke softly, "I'll go cooperate with the doctor for the examination first, and explain it to you when I come out. Okay, Wilson? Give me a chance to explain."
Wilson looked at Ethan with a complicated gaze, and the avoidance in her eyes scared Ethan.
He got up and went to the doctor's office, doing his best to cooperate with the examination.
Nolan walked out of the doctor's office and looked at Wilson, who was sitting curled up at the end of the corridor, in silence for a long time.
"Ethan, what do you mean?" Richard was taken aback, looking at Ethan who was about to cooperate with the doctor's examination.
"I'm sorry. I've been hiding it from you all. I am Justin's father, and I was the one who hurt Wilson six years ago." Ethan's voice was hoarse as he lowered his head guiltily.
Richard clenched his fists and grabbed Ethan's collar. "Ethan, are you toying with us?"
