Chapter 416 Then Watched Them Argue
"She's so aggressive, and she's a fraud who stole someone else's identity. Her character must be terrible. Marrying her shows you haven't made any progress over the years," Jasmine sighed, taking a step back.
Annabelle was infuriated by Jasmine's demeanor. She knew Jasmine was mimicking her past behavior. The more Jasmine acted this way, the angrier Annabelle became.
Annabelle said, "Jasmine, don't be so arrogant. Just because you're the heiress of the Cunningham family doesn't change your filthy nature! Don't forget, a few years ago, you were the one being trampled on, forced into a corner, and begging for mercy!"
Jasmine looked at Annabelle, watching her go mad and hysterical.
Perpetrators, bystanders, and spectators always enjoyed repeatedly hurting the victim's wounds. They always look down on the victim with a sense of superiority, as if revealing someone else's scars was a badge of honor.
Jasmine's face turned pale; those memories could always be easily stirred up by them.
Her fingers trembled slightly. Jasmine wanted to fight back. She thought of countless replies and countless scenarios of rushing up to hit the other person, but her body remained rooted to the spot.
Just when Jasmine felt helpless, Ethan stood behind her. He held Jasmine in his arms, frowning at Annabelle. "If you go out without a mask now, people might throw trash at you."
Annabelle's face turned pale, and she clenched her fists.
"You really are shameless, and it shows perfectly on you." Ethan held Jasmine's hand and led her away.
"Jasmine, you're already with Ethan, but you're still in contact with Daniel. You're shameless, too. We're the same kind of people," Annabelle said angrily.
Ethan turned back, his cold eyes fixed on Annabelle. She was asking for trouble.
"Shut up!" Before Ethan could speak, Daniel, suppressing his anger, told Annabelle to shut up.
Annabelle sneered. "You're afraid you can't win Jasmine's heart back. She already slept with Ethan! The man she slept with in the hotel six years ago and had a child with is Ethan! She betrayed you long ago."
"Shut up!" Daniel, clearly unable to accept this fact, raised his hand and slapped Annabelle.
Annabelle covered her face, glaring at Daniel with hatred.
This wasn't the first time Daniel had hit her. "Daniel! You have no right to hit me. You're not a good person either! Your mom was a mistress, and you're an illegitimate child. Everything you have now should belong to Ethan!" Annabelle was completely enraged.
Over there, Claire was very upset and rushed over to push Annabelle away. Annabelle lost her balance, fell to the ground, and hit her head against the wall, feeling dizzy.
"Bitch, you have no right to speak. Shut up!" Claire screamed hysterically, not caring that they were in a hospital, acting very rudely.
Jasmine and Ethan stood at the elevator door, watching them argue.
It felt quite novel.
"Coward," Ethan said as they entered the elevator, holding Jasmine tightly, not wanting to let go for a moment.
"I'm not." Jasmine sniffled. "You saw them fighting."
Jasmine was unconvinced, thinking she had just used a little trick to make them argue.
"Yes," Ethan chuckled. "Next time, you can hit them directly."
"I can't," Jasmine said guiltily. "I can't beat her."
"Looks like you can't just learn ballet from your teacher; you need to take some Taekwondo classes, too," Ethan said, holding Jasmine even tighter.
Jasmine pushed Ethan away slightly. "You're practically glued to me."
"Are you annoyed with me?" Ethan asked, sounding a bit hurt.
Jasmine smiled. "No."
Ethan straightened up and led Jasmine out of the elevator. "Jasmine, if one day I'm not by your side, can you live on your own?"
Jasmine looked at Ethan warily and asked nervously, "What do you mean?"
"Don't be scared, I'm just hypothetically speaking," Ethan said, masking his true feelings with a smile.
He had discussed some matters regarding his mother's death with Howard in the hospital room.
Clearly, both he and Howard had thoughts of killing each other. He wanted to kill Howard, and when Howard realized this, he obviously wanted to kill Ethan too.
Now, it had reached a point of no return. His mother's death couldn't have been orchestrated by Claire alone. Howard was the mastermind.
Ethan took a deep breath and tightened his grip on Jasmine's hand.
At that moment, he suddenly felt he couldn't give Jasmine the future she wanted.
Maybe Connor was right. He had been too arrogant. The dangers around him were far greater than those around Jasmine.
At the amusement park, Evelina was taking the three kids through the VIP line, but they still had to wait for a while.
Casey's stomach hurt. "Justin, I need to go to the bathroom."
Justin held Casey's hand. "Come on, I'll take you."
Justin took Casey to a nearby restroom. Cordelia and Evelina waited outside since the two little ones were going to the men's restroom.
Outside the restroom, a few people glanced around suspiciously and sneaked in.
Casey was standing to the side, peeing, when someone came in and tried to grab Justin.
"Who are you?" Justin frowned, looking at the two men warily.
One of them stood guard at the door while the other pulled out a towel to cover Justin's mouth and nose.
Casey turned around mid-pee and sprayed the man.
"You little brat!" the man exclaimed, frowning.
In a moment of distraction, Justin had already pushed the man away. "Grandma! Grandma!"
People outside rushed in, grabbed Justin and Casey, and covered their mouths. "Don't shout, take them away!"
At the door, a bodyguard in a black suit took off his sunglasses and spoke in a deep voice, "What are you doing?"
The two men were stunned; the bodyguard was incredibly strong. Nervously, they let go of Justin and Casey, awkwardly smiling. "Sorry, your kid. He peed on me."
"He's a bad guy!" Justin interrupted, pulling Casey behind him protectively. "That towel definitely has something on it. They were going to knock us out and take us away!"
The bodyguard squinted, veins bulging on his forehead, clearly angry. "I'll handle this."
The two men swallowed nervously. "No, it's a misunderstanding. This towel is just for wiping."
The man smiled and wiped himself with the towel.
"Then cover your own mouth and nose with it, quickly, or I'll call the police," the bodyguard said, stepping inside.
The two men nervously backed into a corner, unable to retreat any further. They exchanged glances and decided to fight him, thinking there was only one of him. But as they were about to escape, they saw three more bodyguards in black suits standing outside the restroom.
Evelina sneered. "We have four bodyguards following us. You guys are really bold."
