Chapter 79 How Terrifying was Ethan on Earth

Early the next morning.
Jasmine had just woken up when she heard a big commotion outside.
Several people were talking.
"We are from Presidio Knolls School, and this is our academic director, Mr. Richard. We are here to check on the student. We heard that our student has been sick and hasn't been coming to school."
"Yes, yes, Mr. Douglas. personally called us."
"Mr. Avery, we come with only the best intentions and will take good care of Justin."
"Justin is a genius. He ranked first in both the general tests and entrance exams. It would be a shame to send such a talented child elsewhere."
Jasmine propped herself up on her elbows and listened in discreetly.
Ethan must have called the school. How else could the head of a prestigious school come personally to invite Justin back?
"Principal Brown is unwell and has been reassigned."
"Yes, Principal Brown's situation is unclear; she has been transferred to another campus. She made a terrible mistake."
Jasmine leaned against the wall, her eyes downcast.
It was Ethan. He must have known that Zelda sent the video to all the parents at the school. It wasn't a coincidence. This Principal Brown must have played a significant role.
"We will resume classes today. I will take Justin to school later."
Jasmine stepped outside and spoke softly.
The school officials instantly breathed a sigh of relief and warmly welcomed her. "Miss Wilson, right? Mr. Douglas specifically instructed us to correct Principal Brown’s wrong. Rest assured; we will take good care of young Justin."
Jasmine was caught off guard by their enthusiasm and instinctively took a step back. "Alright..."
"Justin is really smart and adorable. We love such little geniuses."
Jasmine looked at the overly enthusiastic school official and felt a sense of irony.
Just one phone call from Ethan had completely changed their attitudes.
Emily was right; people always needed some power in their hands.
"Jasmine... we owe Ethan; I'm afraid..." Richard felt anxious. She feared that Jasmine wouldn't be able to handle this arrangement in the future.
Jasmine shook her head. "I understand now; I have nothing to fear."
To protect Justin, she must learn to change.
...
"Mom, don't worry about me. I will listen to the teacher and wait for you to come pick me up." Justin soothed Jasmine in his cheerful voice as he walked into the kindergarten.
Jasmine nodded as a warmth spread across her heart. "Mommy will come to pick you up later."
"Oh, isn't this Jasmine?"
Just as Justin ran into the kindergarten, a woman in high heels made a sarcastic remark. "I heard that the Brown family is looking for you. You have the courage to stroll around Silverlight City so openly and even dare to come to drop off your child."
Jasmine lowered her hat brim, feeling uneasy and wanting to run.
The woman reached out to stop Jasmine. "Jasmine, don’t you think you’ve gone too far? By sending Zelda to the police station, you have offended the Brown family."
Jasmine took a deep breath. This woman was one of Zelda's associates.
She heard that she had married early, to a wealthy man who was over a decade older than her and was living a lavish lifestyle away from the family.
She was now a full-time housewife; her only duty was taking care of the children at home.
"It's none of your business." Jasmine spoke in a low voice, wanting to walk away immediately.
"It really is her!"
Several sports cars stopped at the kindergarten entrance.
Clearly, the woman had sent a message to their small group after spotting Jasmine.
Jasmine took a sharp breath. She felt scared and wanted to call Ethan.
She didn't know who she could contact now.
"Jasmine, you're quite something, running off to Boston and daring to come back to Silverlight City! The Brown family and the Wilson family have basically issued a manhunt for you," a trust fund boy joked while leaning against the car door and lighting a cigarette. "Did you tell Tom yet? Tell him to hurry up and come save his little angel."
Jasmine kept her head down; she just wanted to leave.
Many other people from several sports cars all got out, blocking Jasmine next to a trash can. "Thinking of running, huh?"
A woman with pink hair grabbed Jasmine's collar, raising her hand to pat Jasmine's face. "How did you end up like this? You look so poor and pitiful."
"Who are you to talk?" Jasmine raised her tear-filled eyes and looked at the woman. "Your dad owes billions, and your mom is fooling around with other men. Why do you think you’re special?"
The woman with pink hair was shocked. Was Jasmine actually confronting her?
"Huh?" The woman laughed and looked at the others. "I didn't mishear, did I?"
Jasmine glanced at the others. "You’re all dressed up so nicely. You seem to be well-off and all come from affluent families, but in reality, you all reek of failure. You people... idle and aimless, with no family background. What are you even?"
These people were like parasites. They were incomparable to Henry and Ethan.
"At this age, all you do is drive sports cars recklessly, drink excessively, party, and bully me... you're all so united in bullying me..." Jasmine choked up as her whole body trembled uncontrollably.
She had been holding back for far too long.
She wanted to vent. She knew the consequences, but she didn't want to endure it anymore.
She wouldn't endure it anymore!
"I know why you're so eager to bully me, to trample me underfoot and make yourselves feel superior. People like you are failures. Your elders criticize you all the time, so you come out to seek attention. You’re looking for something to prove your lives aren’t worthless!"
Jasmine struggled to breathe as tears streamed uncontrollably from her eyes.
She slowly backed away, watching everyone warily.
Even if she got beaten, she wasn't afraid anymore.
She would wield the weapon of the law to protect herself.
"Impressive, is this still the Jasmine I know? Haha..."
"You're speaking today? If you didn't, we'd think you were mute. Hahaha."
Clearly provoked, the rich kids advanced towards her step by step.
"Unbelievable, you went to Boston and suddenly got tough." The woman with pink hair tried to hit Jasmine. "Do you have someone protecting you now?"
Terrified, Jasmine stepped back, but bumped into someone's strong chest.
Instinctively holding her head, Jasmine began breathing even more heavily.
The group of trust fund babies in front of her changed their expressions, and their eyes filled with fear as they retreated.
Realizing this, Jasmine finally looked up at the person behind her.
He was really tall, bumping into him felt like hitting a wall.
It inexplicably gave her a sense of security.
Ethan.
How did he end up here?
"Mr... Mr. Douglas? What are you doing here? What a coincidence."
"Haha, Ethan..." Several girls in the group tried to get on his good side, each one tensed up when they saw him.
Everyone knew that Ethan was not someone to mess with. Provoking him meant serious trouble.
"Has Justin gone to school?" Ethan ignored the pests and lowered his head to look at Jasmine.
With red-rimmed eyes, Jasmine nodded, feeling inexplicably wronged. "Yes..."
"Have you had breakfast?" Ethan reached out to touch the bandage on Jasmine's neck. "Still hurting?"
Jasmine lowered her head, as if she wanted to sink into the ground, and shook her head forcefully.
She wasn't afraid of pain.
"Let's go; let's have breakfast first." Ethan took Jasmine's hand, leading her away.
Just by holding her hand and saying a few words to Jasmine, the trust fund babies were instantly intimidated.
The group of trust fund babies looked as if they had seen something terrifying, and their faces turned incredibly pale.
Was that Ethan?
Was he holding Jasmine’s hand!?
