Chapter 431 Cordelia Announces Important Matters at the Meeting
At the Cunningham Group.
Jasmine arrived at the company, holding her newly issued papers, and entered it into the company system.
"Yasmine Cunningham." Jasmine smiled as she held the papers.
"A new name signifies a new beginning. The old Jasmine is dead. The one who has returned is Yasmine Cunningham." Behind her, Emily smiled and hugged Jasmine from behind. "Good morning, Miss Cunningham, I'm here to start my job."
Emily had left the luxury goods counter, even though she had worked her way up to store manager. She still decided to come and help Jasmine.
Jasmine knew that although Emily didn't have a high level of education, she was exceptionally capable. With proper training, she would definitely become the best talent in the project department.
Nolan wholeheartedly agreed with Jasmine's idea.
Ever since he found out that Jasmine was his biological sister, Nolan had been very kind to her. He even spoke softly to Jasmine, afraid that a louder voice might scare her.
"Emily, you should report to the HR department. Go straight ahead and turn right. Take care." Jasmine smiled as she pushed Emily. What did she send her last night?
"And Emily, I beg you, stop sending me those instructional videos. They're not for me, they're for Ethan." Jasmine's face turned red as she spoke.
Emily laughed slyly. "Did you try it? Are you pregnant?"
"We're not having kids." Jasmine quickly waved her hand. "Ethan is about to have surgery."
Emily burst out laughing. "He really loves you."
Jasmine's face turned even redder.
After a while, Jasmine spoke seriously. "Emily, you will also meet the man who loves you the most. No matter how dark the road ahead is, don't give up. He might be waiting for you not far away. Don't make him wait too long. Keep moving forward."
Emily stood there, smiling bitterly.
She would never have her Mr Right.
She had a miscarriage, lost her uterus, and would never have children. No man would like a woman like her.
Moreover, she had some bad experiences in the past. "Forget it. A woman like me shouldn't hurt others."
Even if she did meet someone, she wouldn't fall for him.
She couldn't fall for him.
Because she didn't deserve it.
Emily added, "Besides, I've seen through men. I don't need love. I want a career. Even though I won't meet a man who loves me, meeting you is my greatest fortune. With my conditions, without you, I wouldn't have had the chance to join the Cunningham Group."
Emily was already very satisfied and grateful.
Now, she just wanted to work hard, make money, and live a wonderful life.
"Okay, I believe in you." Jasmine nodded.
The two then parted ways. Emily headed towards the HR department, her back firm, as if she had opened the door to a new world.
She was ready to take on the world and she wasn't alone.
She had Jasmine and Lily. They encouraged each other and walked together.
Love wouldn't be the entirety of one's life.
There were many meaningful things to do.
Jasmine said something very true: If you show your true self, your charisma will naturally attract others.
Wherever you show yourself, sunlight and attention will come from all directions.
So, keep going.
Whether in darkness or adversity, as long as you persist, you will eventually encounter a turning point.
This was the survival rule of the world. The wheel of fate kept turning.
Unfortunate people often encountered more unfortunate events, which meant that the gears of fate had reached the most difficult peak.
Once you get past it, you will surely see the dawn. We must believe.
Jasmine also turned around, holding her new identity, and entered the CEO's private elevator.
She was no longer the fake daughter she used to be.
Her name was Yasmine Cunningham.
She was Cordelia's daughter, the sister of Nolan, Edward, Edgar, and Richard.
She was Ethan's lover.
She was the mother of Justin Brown and Joe Douglas.
Most importantly, she was herself.
Taking a deep breath, as the elevator doors opened, Jasmine felt like she was seeing a new world.
The road ahead was still unknown, but she was no longer confused or afraid.
She had friends, family, and a lover.
Everything was so beautiful.
As long as she didn't fall ill again, she would always bask in the light.
"Jasmine." Outside the door was Edgar, waiting for her.
Edgar had come to terms with everything over the past few days. He smiled warmly at Jasmine and scratched his head. "Do you have time later? I'd like to treat you to a meal."
Jasmine smiled and nodded. "Sure, I want to eat barbecue."
She remembered how she used to long to go to that barbecue restaurant loved by college students, but Evan thought it was unsanitary and found various reasons to forbid her from going, taking her to high-end restaurants instead.
Back then, Jasmine always felt that Evan loved her too much. Even though they were just siblings, Evan's love sometimes felt suffocating.
He was too doting, too concerned about her.
So much so that when she fell into the abyss and saw that it was Evan who pushed her, she felt utterly powerless and gave up resisting.
He was the brother she once trusted and loved the most.
Indeed, the ones who hurt her the most were always the ones she cared about the most.
Edgar was taken aback and whispered, "Don't let Nolan know about this. He says that barbecue is unhealthy. If he finds out, we'll be in trouble."
Jasmine quickly lowered her voice and looked around cautiously. "I know, my brother."
Edgar froze in place, feeling as if something had struck his heart. He excitedly pinched his own face. It hurt, it wasn't a dream.
Jasmine called him brother, she called him brother.
Edgar's eyes reddened with excitement.
This was his baby sister, the family's treasure.
She called him brother, and he felt like he could agree to anything she asked.
Jasmine smiled as she pushed open the door to the conference room, but her smile quickly froze.
The atmosphere was too strange.
The conference room was eerily quiet. Not only were the senior executives of the Cunningham Group present, but also the board members from Coutry M were attending via video conference.
Cordelia sat in the chairman's seat of the Cunningham Group, exuding a powerful aura.
In stark contrast to her aura, Sophia looked like a mistress, as if it was written all over her face.
Jasmine glanced at Sophia, then at Willian, and frowned. "Why did you bring her to the company?"
She was worried Cordelia would be upset.
Cordelia smiled at Jasmine, reached out to hold Jasmine's hand, and let her sit beside herself. "Jasmine, I asked her to come."
Sophia's face turned pale, she had a bad feeling.
She didn't know why Cordelia had suddenly called them all together.
Nolan and Edward also came in, and they sat beside Jasmine.
This was even stranger.
Jasmine took a deep breath.
Why did it feel like the calm before the storm?
"Since everyone is here, I have a few important announcements to make regarding the future development of the Cunningham Group." Cordelia cleared her throat and stood up to speak.
Cordelia's presence was very imposing.
