Chapter 480 Jasmine Got Samuel Involved

Samuel grinned like he'd never seen a woman as confident and calm as Jasmine.

She knew her idea was a long shot but still believed Samuel would help her take over that struggling company.

Samuel was intrigued.

"Why do you think I'd agree?" Samuel asked, sitting across from her.

Jasmine looked him in the eye. "If you didn't, you wouldn't be here."

She glanced at the documents in his hand. "Plus, you've already checked out the company, so you must have an opinion."

Samuel raised an eyebrow. Jasmine was good at reading people.

"The Douglas Group and the Silverlight City business circle are crushing LY. How long can you hold out? Even if I join, what's the chance of success?" Samuel asked seriously.

He wanted to see how Jasmine viewed LY's situation.

The small company Ethan was trying to save was in deep trouble.

A tiny company going up against a giant like the Douglas Group was like an egg hitting a rock.

"LY can last three months, especially with Ethan. But if Deborah helps, it could last six months," Jasmine said, acknowledging Deborah's skills.

With Deborah and Ethan together, their chances improved.

If LY could hold out for six months, the Douglas Group would start feeling the strain.

Using company resources for personal vendettas, especially family feuds, would upset the board and management.

Jasmine planned to strike the Douglas Group from within, causing chaos and giving LY a fighting chance.

She wouldn't let Ethan lose because he once promised he wouldn't let her lose.

"Six months? Do you know how long a century-old company like the Douglas Group can last?" Samuel tested her.

"But if you join, with your family's influence and our teamwork, we can not only hold out but also strike back," Jasmine said confidently.

"Even a rabbit can bite," she added. "The Douglas Group isn't just Daniel or Howard's company; there are hundreds of managers. Where there are people, there are conflicts. If their interests are hurt, they'll fight among themselves."

A giant could fall because of a small crack.

Samuel's eyes lit up. Jasmine's boldness was impressive. She wasn't just aiming to compete with the Douglas Group; she wanted to bring it down.

"That's the Douglas Group you're talking about. Aren't you a bit too confident?" Samuel thought she was gutsy.

It was hard to believe, but somehow, Samuel found Jasmine's words convincing.

"The Douglas Group with Ethan is formidable. Without him, it's nothing," Jasmine said quietly, finally showing a confidence that had been hidden.

It wasn't arrogance; it was pure confidence.

She wasn't afraid of dealing with Howard and Daniel; she just needed time.

Samuel looked at her deeply and then smiled. "Alright, show me what you can do."

"Are you joining?" Jasmine's eyes lit up with joy.

Samuel rolled his eyes, realizing he might have overthought things earlier. She seemed less calculating now.

Or maybe she was just really good at hiding it.

"My family wants me to join Raymond or some other big company after graduation, but that's boring. I don't want to just add bricks to someone else's skyscraper. My skills would be wasted." Samuel stretched lazily.

He didn't want to live under his family's shadow or accept his fate passively.

To showcase his abilities, he needed a real challenge.

Starting his own business seemed too easy and uninteresting.

Teaming up with Jasmine offered a tougher challenge, perfect for showing what he could do.

"But I have a condition," Samuel said with a half-smile.

"Go ahead." Jasmine nodded.

"I'll invest in LY and join you, but I'm not here for venture capital. I want to start a business with you," Samuel said, wanting a significant share.

"I hold 65% of the shares. LY isn't a big company and doesn't have many original shareholders. I can give you 30%," Jasmine offered, as Ethan had said she could manage her shares freely.

"The remaining 35% are with someone named Richard. Who is he to you?" Samuel asked.

"My brother," Jasmine replied honestly.

Samuel rubbed his temples. "No wonder you're so generous, giving me 30%."

Jasmine smiled. "You're not that kind of person."

Samuel wasn't the type to use underhanded means once the company succeeded.

"Alright, take me to the company tomorrow," Samuel said, looking away, his ears slightly red. This woman knew how to use her charm.

Jasmine was a woman with skills.

At Capital Hospital, Evan's leg was saved, but the delayed treatment worsened the injury. Even after surgery and recovery, he might have lasting effects.

In the corridor, Evelina sat on a bench, her voice low. "I don't understand how Karen, as Evan's biological mother, could do this to her son."

She let out a sarcastic laugh, finding it all absurd.

Some mothers treat their sons like demons, while others pray for a child but can't have one.

This world has never been fair.

Women like Karen don't deserve children.

But Evelina had to have her uterus removed due to an accident.

"Madam, sir, the paternity test results are out," the assistant said, running over with the results for Evan and Alex.

Evelina had insisted on the test.

She didn't trust Karen.

She also wanted to know if Evan was really Alex's son.

If he was, there would always be an unremovable barrier between her and Alex.
