Chapter 737 Daniel Decides to Leave
Lily's plan to burn Xavier to death was indeed very likely to be defined as manslaughter.

"Destroying the Douglas family, at least, is something they've almost achieved," Raymond laughed. "Mark must be furious by now."

Mark sat in the position that once belonged to Howard, his face dark. "Bradley ruined the company?"
Daniel placed the documents on the table. "They started their actions long ago. Otherwise, how could they have handed over the shares so easily?"
"And Ethan, he started selling his Douglas Group shares two months ago. At that time, you said he was crazy and wanted to cash out. You bought a large amount of his Douglas Group shares, and now all that money has belonged to Ethan," Daniel snorted.

Mark gritted his teeth. "It seems Bradley and Ethan are in cahoots."
"Not necessarily," Daniel shook his head. "Ethan wouldn't harm the Douglas Group. It's his mother's and grandfather's legacy."
Mark frowned. "So, you're saying I'm still inferior to Ethan?"
Daniel didn't want to discourage Mark.
Mark gritted his teeth. "The Douglas Group is now very fragile, almost ready to collapse. With the funds and connections we have, we can barely hold on. But if Ethan and Bradley decide to go all out against us, we might not be able to withstand it."
Daniel sighed. "I admit it now. I'm just not as smart as Ethan."
Mark didn't react at first, but when he did, he was furious. "You have no ambition!"
Daniel looked at Mark. "Give it up. You've schemed for so many years to get the Douglas Group, and now you want to continue? If you let go now, you won't end up with nothing."
Mark snorted. "I want to show him that the position Howard once held now belongs to me!"
Daniel sighed. "I don't want any of the Douglas Group shares. I'm leaving."
Daniel didn't want to work with Mark anymore.
"I admit I'm not as good as Ethan. I want to go abroad for further studies. If I have the chance in the future, I'll start my own business. Whatever position I get, I'll accept it," Daniel said, standing up to leave.
"Daniel! You're my son. Everything I've done is for you. Are you really going to let Ethan surpass you?" Mark's anger was intense.
Daniel seemed tired, lacking his previous fighting spirit. "Say what you want. My mom has said these things countless times. I have no feelings to them now."
In the past, whenever Claire and Howard said he was inferior to Ethan, Daniel would go crazy, trying to prove and show himself.
Even if it meant taking the wrong path.
