Chapter 772 There is a Traitor Around Steven and Richard
Lisa was a bit worried, nervously looking at Sita. "Can you go out?"
Sita shook her head. "They don't completely trust me, but I have some connections with the people who deliver fruits and vegetables. I'll find a way to send the message. Remember, no matter what happens, don't show it."
It seemed like Sita had foreseen her own possible death.
Lisa nodded nervously.
Now, it was up to Sita to find a way to send the message.
Then Sita left, and Lisa sat nervously on the bed, looking around.
This place was too backward, surrounded by wilderness, with no way to escape.
Taking a deep breath, Lisa lay on the bed, still scared.
Because of the tension and fear, she quickly fell asleep.
She had a nightmare, dreaming that a snake crawled onto her, bit her neck, and then countless venomous snakes wrapped around her.
Waking up from the nightmare, Lisa looked around in fear. It was already dark, and she didn't know if Sita had succeeded.
She hoped Sita had succeeded.
Berlin Heights.
Steven brought Richard and Asha into the safe Berlin Heights, sitting on the couch. "Dev just called, saying Raj wants to talk to us again tomorrow. Who dares to go with me?"
Asha looked around but didn't dare to speak.
Richard stepped forward. "I will."
Steven gritted his teeth. "Think it through. If the talks break down again tomorrow, they might kill us."
"My duty is to protect you for three months." Richard said seriously, then remembered something and corrected himself. "No, it's two months and twenty-seven days."
Those three days were won in a bet, he wouldn't care about Steven for even one more day.
Steven was very frustrated. How did Betty manage to like this stubborn fool?
"Alright, go to sleep." Steven didn't say much and told Richard to get lost.
Richard turned and followed a local woman to a room.
Asha also left, leaving only Steven and Marley. "Marley, Raj suddenly said he wants to negotiate again. What do you think he means by that?" Steven asked.
Marley was stunned for a moment, then quickly replied. "Maybe he's scared and knows what choice to make. After all, you are the head of the Hughes family, and Kavi never manages to make the grade."
"Do you think we should go?" Steven looked at him.
Marley nodded. "You're just one step away. Once the Hughes family fully transitions, you can rest easy."
Steven took a deep breath, feeling his eyelids twitching badly.
He didn't know if he should go tomorrow.
"You're tired today too, get some rest." Marley told Steven to go to sleep.
Steven nodded.
As soon as Steven left, a person carrying a basket of vegetables walked in, looked around, and said, "The melons you wanted, it must sweet!"
Marley squinted his eyes. "We didn't order any melons."
The person nervously took out a melon and threw it to Marley.
Marley glanced at it and saw something stuffed inside.
He took it out and saw it was a message from someone on Raj's side: [Don't come to Greendale tomorrow, it's dangerous.]
Marley looked around, took a deep breath, and crumpled the note in his hand. "Who sent you?"
The person didn't speak and tried to leave.
Marley glanced at Asha, signaling him to take action.
Asha came out of the shadows, covered the person's mouth, and dragged him away.
Steven came out of the room and asked, "What's going on?"
Marley, tense all over, looked back at Steven. "Nothing, Asha saw a cat."
Steven suspiciously looked at the corner but said nothing and went back to his room.
Greendale.
Lisa was breathing heavily, wiping the sweat from her forehead, her whole body soaked.
She needed a shower.
"What kind of place is this, not even an air conditioner?" Lisa cursed deliberately, walked out of the room, and shouted, "Sita!"
No one responded.
Suddenly, a figure flashed by, scaring Lisa almost to scream.
It was Dev.
"Why are you calling Sita?" Dev asked warily.
Lisa looked at Dev in fear. "Why are you standing outside my door?"
Dev sneered.
"There is no air conditioning, I'm soaked, I need a shower!" Lisa said angrily.
Dev suddenly thought of something and smirked. "Let's go, I'll take you to see Sita."
Lisa followed Dev, warily looking around.
As they passed a room, they heard a man's screams, then there was no more movement.
It was the person who went to deliver the message.
There were traitors around Steven, Marley and Asha were both traitors.
And the melon seller and Sita were all dragged out.
"Sita, I trusted you so much." It was Raj's voice.
Then came the screams.
Lisa trembled all over, too scared to go in.
But Dev deliberately pushed Lisa inside.
In the room, Sita was covered in blood, hanging from a beam.
Lisa couldn't take it, there were also mutilated male corpses on the ground.
"Who asked you to deliver the message?" Raj asked in a deep voice.
Sita cried and shook her head, never speaking.
No matter how Raj beat her, Sita didn't say a word.
"Such a waste to just kill her." Dev said with a smile. "Give her a shot, let the guys have their fun until she's dead."
Lisa trembled all over, looking at Raj, wanting to save Sita.
But Sita glanced at her, her eyes warning her not to expose herself.
Here, it's hell. Once she was exposed, better off dead.
"Kill me." Sita's voice was hoarse.
Raj and Dev left, and Sita begged Lisa to kill her quickly.
Lisa trembled all over.
Kill her? What kind of madness was this?
Lisa couldn't do it.
She cried and shook her head. "How can I save you?"
Sita frowned and shook her head, seeming to say, "Don't speak. They wouldn't go far."
Sure enough, someone came in soon, holding a syringe.
Lisa knew immediately what it was.
"What are you doing? This is illegal!" Lisa was still naive, trying to protect Sita.
Dev came in, grabbed Lisa's hair, and dragged her out. "You want to take her place?"
Lisa cried and screamed like crazy. "Don't touch her!"
Mark heard the commotion and came out, frowning and questioning. "Dev, what are you doing now?"
Dev laughed recklessly. "I Just brought your daughter to see the sights."
Mark glanced at the situation in the room, then at the men walking in one by one, his face changed, and he punched Dev in the eye. "You're looking for death!"
Mark hit hard, and Dev's eye swelled shut.
If Raj hadn't stopped him, he might have really crippled Dev.
"Dad, save that girl, please." Lisa fell to the ground, her legs weak, begging Mark to help.
Mark frowned at Lisa. "Don't sympathize with anyone here."
To Raj and Dev, these people weren't human, they were livestock, to be slaughtered at will.
"No." Hearing the screams from the room, Lisa covered her head and cried desperately.
What kind of place was this?
It was too terrifying.
