Chapter 621 Nolan Insists on Aborting the Child

Amelia woke up in Nolan's bed, her heart racing as she glanced around nervously.

Nolan was leaning against the door frame, his eyes cold. "What are you scared of? You’re the one who crawled into my bed."

Amelia looked down, regretting ever getting mixed up with Nolan.

People were right; older guys were tricky and not to be trusted.

"Get up to have breakfast. We’re going to the hospital after," Nolan said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Amelia clenched her fists. "Nolan, think about it. This is your child."

Nolan's frown deepened, his anger rising. "Amelia, do you ever tell the truth?"

Amelia angrily got out of bed, shoved Nolan aside, and walked a few steps before turning back. "You promised me that if I got rid of this baby, you’d leave Nathaniel alone."

Nolan's anger flared. "You’re really willing to do anything for him!"

Amelia stayed silent.

"If Nathaniel lied to you, you’d still help him?" Nolan asked, furious.

She replied, "Yes, even if he lied, I’d still help him."

Nathaniel had taken her in when she was homeless and saved her life. And Nolan? He kept pushing her into the abyss.

"You're hopeless," Nolan yelled at her.

She wouldn’t realize her mistake until it was too late.

As Nolan stormed off to the kitchen, Amelia quietly made her way to the door and started running.

But when she reached the yard, she stopped in despair. With Nolan’s power, he could easily ruin Nathaniel’s career.

What should she do?

"Trying to run?" Nolan stood at the door, watching her.

Amelia turned back, her eyes red with tears. "I hate you."

Nolan’s heart inexplicably trembled, but he just said, "Eat."

Amelia didn’t move. "No, let’s just go to the hospital."

She had given in. This child wasn’t meant to be with her.

She didn’t want any more ties to Nolan. "Nolan, I’ll get rid of this baby. But you have to promise that after this, we’re done. We’ll be strangers, no more entanglements."

Nolan frowned, thinking she was playing games again.

With a hint of anger, Nolan snorted. "Fine."

Jasmine was on a business trip to Boston with Samuel, keeping her safe for now.

Howard’s appointment was in the evening, and Ethan was already making preparations.

This time, he had to make sure Howard got caught.

"Mr. Douglas, this is risky. Thanks for helping us catch Howard," the police said, already in plain clothes pretending to be company staff, as they followed Ethan.

The police suspected there was an insider in the Douglas Group helping Howard. If Ethan tipped off the police and Howard found out, it would be even harder to catch him.

Ethan said, "We have to catch Howard this time."

"Don’t worry, we’ll keep you safe. But," the police looked concerned, "there aren’t any good hiding spots on the beach. The snipers will have to be at the lighthouse, which is a bit far. You’ll need to be careful."

Ethan nodded, feeling a bit more at ease with the police around. Who knew what Howard might pull?

His phone buzzed—it was Lisa.

"Ethan, where are you? Do you know where Dad is?" Lisa's voice was frantic.

"I'm at the office. What's going on?" Ethan's face darkened, sensing trouble.

"Our driver said Dad intercepted the car and took Casey away!" Lisa explained, panic in her voice.

Ethan shot up from his chair. "How could you let this happen?"

But blame was pointless. Ethan hadn't expected Howard to go after Casey when he couldn't get to Justin and Joe.

That was his own grandson.

"I don't know," Lisa sobbed. "Ethan, what do we do? What does Dad want? Why did he take Casey?"

Ethan rubbed his temples. "He's using Casey as leverage."

Leverage to get to him.

Howard knew that taking Casey was just as effective as taking Justin or Joe; Ethan wouldn't stand by and do nothing.

"Ethan," Lisa cried, her fear palpable.

"I'll have Raymond pick you up. Stop crying. All you can do now is hope he has some humanity left. Tonight, I'll make sure Casey comes home safely." Ethan was getting irritated by Lisa's tears.

"Ethan, please take Casey back safely," Lisa begged, her voice trembling.

"I promise," Ethan said, rare words of comfort.

On the other end, Lisa went quiet, stunned, but moments later, she cried even harder.

Ethan rubbed his temples and hung up.

Then he said, "That lunatic Howard, not even sparing his own grandson."

Brandon frowned. "He's using the kid to get to you. Ethan, tonight might be more complicated than we thought. You shouldn't go. I'll wear your clothes and go instead."

Ethan shook his head. "Too risky."

If Howard found out it wasn't him, things could get deadly fast. Not only would Brandon be in danger, but Casey might also be lost.

"Ethan!" Brandon stood up, angry. "If something happens to you, what about Jasmine?"

At least Brandon had no attachments.

Ethan insisted, "This is my family matter; let me handle it."

Ethan couldn't risk Brandon's life.

"If something happens to me, tell Jasmine I went abroad for a while. Keep it a secret as long as you can. If I make it, pretend nothing happened." Ethan looked at him. "Brandon, you and Raymond are the people I trust the most, my brothers, my comrades. If I'm not around, protect my wife and kids."

"Don't say that," Brandon muttered, looking away.

"Jared Butler and the others are here," Liam said softly from outside the door, sensing something was off but not daring to ask.

"Brandon, you're my witness." Ethan looked at Jared. "According to my handwritten will, after my death, all my assets, shares, funds, and trusts will go to my wife, Jasmine, whether she remarries or not."

Ethan couldn't finish the last part. "No restrictions."

All he could leave Jasmine was his wealth.

But what he hoped for most was to stay alive and be with her.

But Howard, that lunatic, had even calculated his own grandson. The chances of coming back tonight were slim.

"She's the heiress of the Cunningham family. Does she need your money?" Brandon clenched his fists and stormed out.
