Chapter 796 Amelia and Nathaniel Show Their Affection
The next morning.
Elaine wore a pink dress that accentuated her figure well.
She wasn't the kind of stunning beauty that took one's breath away, but her upbringing in a life of luxury and good education gave her an excellent demeanor.
She knew how to dress to highlight her strengths and how to make men interested in her.
But unfortunately, Nolan looked very unwell, clearly having had a sleepless night.
He was in no mood to appreciate her.
"Didn't you sleep well last night?" Elaine pretended not to know about what happened between him and Amelia in the room last night and asked softly.
"Yeah." Nolan rubbed his temples. "Maybe I'm not used to the bed."
She smiled and went downstairs with Nolan. "The B&B has prepared breakfast, let's go try it."
Nolan glanced at the time, wanting to refuse. "The company still..."
"I heard the owner personally cooked. That delicate girl, I wonder if her cooking is any good. I'm quite looking forward to it." Elaine interrupted Nolan's words calmly, wanting to see if he would change his mind because of this.
She was also testing Amelia's position in Nolan's heart.
Nolan was stunned for a moment.
Did Amelia make breakfast?
He recalled the time he lived with Amelia, from her being a spoiled young lady to eventually becoming a good cook.
Initially, Amelia learned to cook to please Nolan.
But no matter how much effort she put in, even getting blisters on her hands, he didn't care.
At that time, Nolan thought her getting up early to make breakfast was pointless, something that could be done by the servants, unnecessary to repeat.
He never cared if Amelia cut her fingers or got blisters.
"Let's eat something." Nolan said in a deep voice.
Elaine's eyes flashed with a hint of disappointment. It seemed Amelia in Nolan's heart was hard to eradicate.
The dining area.
Amelia's dining area was an open-air restaurant made of bamboo, with a great environment and beautiful scenery, surrounded by flowers.
She made several delicate breakfast dishes, with careful presentation.
The waffles she made were soft and delicious, exuding an enticing aroma.
Nolan had never found a breakfast so appetizing before.
Amelia wore a fitted dress today, her baby bump clearly visible.
Obviously, she did it on purpose.
Seeing Nolan and Elaine coming over, Amelia's hand paused for a moment, then she quickly took a plate and served him some waffles.
Nolan looked at Amelia, watching her busy figure, feeling a mix of emotions.
Was he really too late?
"Amelia, can you manage? Let me help you." Outside the B&B, Nathaniel walked in wearing a baseball cap, took off his sunglasses, and without any celebrity airs, helped her with the ingredients.
Some guests were surprised to find that it was actor Nathaniel.
"Oh my god, is that Nathaniel?" They all rushed over, wanting to take pictures.
Nathaniel smiled at everyone and spoke politely. "I hope everyone supports my girlfriend's B&B. This is my girlfriend."
He put his arm around Amelia's waist and introduced her with a smile.
Everyone was shocked. If this got posted online, it would definitely cause a sensation, right?
"To protect my girlfriend, I haven't announced it online. I hope everyone can help protect he too, please." Nathaniel smiled and clasped his hands together in front of a few women, not wanting Amelia to be overwhelmed by public opinion.
After all, many fans were irrational.
Amelia, being pregnant, just wanted Nolan to give up and didn't want to get herself involved.
She glanced at Nathaniel, biting her lip gratefully.
It was great that he was willing to help.
Once Nolan believed the child was Nathaniel's and left, there would be no more entanglements, and he wouldn't fight for custody of the child.
Over there, Nolan's disposable fork was crushed in his hand, but he didn't even notice.
He was really jealous to the point of madness.
Clearly, Amelia should have been his.
Elaine looked at him, her eyes filled with disappointment, but she still pretended not to know and smiled. "This fork is of poor quality, let me get you another one."
Nolan came back to his senses and said nothing.
"Is that the owner's boyfriend? I think she's pregnant, they must be married, right? Secretly married to a celebrity, how enviable, this is true love." Elaine propped her chin and smiled. "I know that celebrity, he's an award-winning actor, my sister is a fan of his. If she knew he was secretly married, she'd be heartbroken."
Nolan frowned and spoke in a deep voice. "Do you think they are a good match?"
"Yes." Elaine nodded.
"How are they a good match?" Nolan didn't know where his anger came from, clearly, they were not a good match at all.
Elaine was stunned for a moment and changed the subject. "Let's not talk about them. I see that young girl is already married at such a young age, it's a bit enviable. Nolan, our families want us to get along well, if we are suitable, we should be together. I think we are very suitable, what do you think?"
Nolan was silent for a moment, subconsciously looking up at Amelia.
She was laughing happily with Nathaniel.
But when she was with him, she lived so cautiously every day.
"I'm sorry, I may not be a qualified husband." Nolan apologized to Elaine. "I'm also not the most suitable husband candidate."
Elaine took a deep breath, already anticipating Nolan's answer. "You've never been a husband of mine, how do you know you're not suitable?"
Elaine smiled. "Why don't we give it a try?"
Nolan was stunned for a moment. How would he know if he hadn't tried?
If he married Amelia and became her husband, what kind of state would he be in?
In his family, the role of husband was vague to Nolan because he didn't have a father to set a good example.
They were all raised by their mothers, and he deeply understood the misery of a woman in a family without love and responsibility.
So, from the beginning, he resisted marriage.
He didn't think he could give his wife a perfect home.
So, when he started considering marriage, the first thing he thought of was not love, but benefits.
But now he began to imagine what his life would be like if he married Amelia.
Subconsciously, he looked at Amelia again.
She was laughing with Nathaniel.
Nathaniel smeared flour on her nose, and they laughed.
While playing around, Nathaniel held Amelia in his arms and kissed her cheek.
Amelia's body visibly stiffened, instinctively wanting to avoid it, but Nathaniel whispered. "Nolan is watching us."
Amelia's body stiffened again.
She couldn't let Nolan know the child was his.
So she hugged Nathaniel back and whispered. "Nathaniel, thank you."
He smiled bitterly and sighed. "You can consider me."
Amelia was silent for a long time before speaking. "Sorry Nathaniel, I don't want you to be a father to someone else's child."
It wouldn't be fair to him.
Besides, she already had a child, whether she had a husband didn't matter anymore.
