Chapter 569: Ethan Reclaims the President Position of the Douglas Family

At the CEO's office of the Douglas Group, the board decided Ethan was back in charge.

That meant Daniel had to pack up and leave Ethan's old office before he could get his shares.

Ethan pushed open the office door, standing there with a scowl.

Daniel had changed up all the furnishings and decorations, making the place look like a mess to Ethan.

"Get rid of everything and put it back the way it was," Ethan said, his voice low and firm.

The staff looked nervous and hesitant. "Mr. Douglas, what if things change again later?"

They were worried Daniel might come back.

Ethan sneered. "Not happening. I'm only saying this once more: toss everything out."

So, the staff started chucking out all of Daniel's stuff.

While moving out, a photo album fell out of Daniel's drawer, filled with photos of Jasmine and little notebooks she had written to Daniel.

They were like love letters.

Actually, they weren't love letters, just notes passed between the two during class, like Daniel asking Jasmine if she wanted to hit the sports field after class, if she wanted Pumpkin Pie in the morning, drink milk, or where to go during the holidays.

Jasmine's handwriting was beautiful, showing how innocent she was back then.

Ethan held the little notebook, his face darkening.

Jasmine's delicate handwriting replied under Daniel's: [Sure, let's have cake and Pumpkin Pie this weekend.]

Jasmine: [I haven't finished my homework yet. So I'm not going out today.]

Jasmine: [I have to go to dance studio. I can't go out.]

Jasmine: [I can't go to the playground with you, I have to rehearse.]

Even though Jasmine mostly turned Daniel down, Ethan's nature still made him jealous.

Plus, Daniel keeping this notebook was a crime in Ethan's eyes.

Daring to covet his wife was truly unforgivable.

Outside the door, Daniel saw his stuff being tossed out and angrily rushed in, but seeing Ethan's grim face, he lost his nerve.

He had always been like this since childhood, always overshadowed by Ethan.

"You can throw out my stuff, but some of it is really precious. If it got lost, you better watch out." Daniel threatened those moving his things. "Have you seen a notebook in my drawer? It's got really important stuff in it."

Daniel said this on purpose, guessing the notebook was in Ethan's hands.

Ethan stayed expressionless and silent.

The assistant and employees didn't dare to speak up; they just lowered their heads and said they hadn't seen it.

Daniel looked at Ethan. "Give it back. The past between Jasmine and me holds our most precious memories and purest feelings. It even has our photos together."

Ethan looked at Daniel. "I've seen shameless people, but never someone as shameless as you."

Daniel frowned. "Ethan, you think you're better than me in everything, even taking Jasmine away from me, but you can't take away our memories. She once loved me. That's a fact."

"Daniel, don't project your issues onto others. Get out."

Ethan raised his hand, signaling Daniel to leave quickly.

Daniel didn't dare to lose his temper at Ethan, so he could only glare at those moving his things. "If my stuff was lost, you all better watch out!"

The employees were too scared to speak, looking at Ethan.

"Everyone in the room listening to you yell is already showing more patience than you deserve." Ethan kicked a nearby trash can. "When it comes to being nasty, you're the expert, always snapping at everyone."

Daniel clenched his fists in anger. "Ethan, don't push me too far."

"I never bully people," Ethan said, feeling generous enough to scold him a bit more today.

"Ethan, don't think heaven's favor will always be with you. You'll have your unlucky day." Daniel threatened, thinking that once he got Howard's shares and stood on equal footing with Ethan, the outcome would be uncertain.

"Don't worry. You won't be that lucky," Ethan said rarely harsh words.

Daniel's fists were trembling with anger, and he furiously looked at the employees. "Find my things!"

Daniel's roar scared the employees so much that they dropped everything.

Each one of them was pale and too scared to speak.

"Why are you yelling?" Ethan was annoyed. "Are you a barbarian? All you know is how to yell? Get out."

Ethan was really out of patience, and his aura was intimidating. The bodyguards and lawyers had already come in, reaching out to Daniel. "Please."

The first time was polite, and the second time was direct expulsion.

Daniel snorted and left angrily. He pondered, 'Just wait and see.'

As soon as he left, Ethan took out the notebook he had hidden behind him, flipping through it page by page. Sure enough, he found photos of Daniel and Jasmine together, sketching, on stage, and during picnics.

The feelings from their school days were enviable, but now Ethan was left with obvious jealousy.

Jasmine had just finished a meeting at LY Company when she received a call from Ethan.

"Hello?"

"Not calling me 'honey' anymore, just 'hello'?" Ethan said arrogantly.

Jasmine took the phone away to check, confirming it was indeed Ethan, thinking she had dialed the wrong number. "Honey, what got into you?"

"Something serious," Ethan said gloomily.

"What?" Jasmine was a bit worried, anxiously wanting to go home.

"Tonight, we're going to eat some cake. I've already booked a place downstairs from your office. Come down."

Jasmine found it a bit strange, going to eat cake at night?

Sighing, Jasmine still went downstairs. On her way down, Liam and Tom whispered, "Ethan is upset. I heard he went back to the Douglas family today, and Howard made some unreasonable demands."

Jasmine looked at Liam. "What unreasonable demands?"

Liam spoke mysteriously, "He said that within a month, whoever can convince Brandon to terminate that unequal contract will get the shares."

Jasmine looked at Liam in shock. She would never let Ethan lower himself to beg someone as opportunistic as Brandon.

"Making Ethan beg Brandon? Impossible!" Jasmine said angrily.

Besides, Brandon definitely had ill intentions.

"He might be feeling down. Jasmine, you should comfort him," Liam said slyly.

Tom looked confused. "Comfort him? If he takes it out on you, just call me, and I'll immediately..."

"So tough?" Liam glared at him disdainfully. "Have the guts to say that in front of Ethan."

As soon as the elevator opened, Tom saw Ethan standing outside, his face turning pale with fright.

"What will you do immediately?" Ethan asked.

Apparently, the elevator had already stopped when he spoke.

"Ethan, you're like a brother to me!" Tom quickly adapted.

Ethan disdainfully pushed away the clinging Tom, holding Jasmine's hand as they walked out. "Not a brother, a cousin."
