Chapter 461 Arnold Never Lies to Cordelia

Before long, Ivan returned. "Samuel, do you know who the CEO of this company is?"

Samuel lounged lazily under the shade of a tree. "Speak, don't waste time."

"Ethan!" Ivan sat down beside Samuel. "Ethan has been managing the company, but due to the suppression from the Douglas Group, it's been very difficult."

Samuel sat up straight. "Ethan?"

Samuel had always idolized Ethan and considered him as someone he wanted to surpass. Being younger than Ethan, Samuel had always lived in Ethan's shadow. No matter what he did, people would say he was good but still not as good as Ethan back in the day.

"Does he hold shares in the company?" Samuel suddenly showed interest.

"Samuel, are you planning to go there? Why? Wherever you go, people fight over you. The Douglas Group, the Wilson Group, and the Willer Group—they are all after you. You shouldn't join that company; the company is bound to go bankrupt sooner or later, " Evan said.

He waved his hand and continued, "The company isn't very big since it's just starting, but Ethan is capable. The company's infrastructure is solid, but they're in bad luck."

Samuel remained silent for a long time before speaking. "A company that even Ethan can't save—interesting."

Ivan scratched his head and finally said, "Samuel, what do you mean?"

"Look into the relationship between Yasmine and Ethan." Samuel thought for a moment. "Never mind, I'll do it myself."

At Arnold's residence.

Sophia had been calling Arnold, but he didn't answer.

Arnold squinted his eyes, waiting for Sophia to keep calling.

It was not until Sophia made the fourth call that Arnold answered, and then he asked, "What do you want?"

"Arnold, why didn't you answer my calls?" Sophia asked softly.

Arnold replied in a low voice, "Speak properly."

Sophia chuckled before speaking again. "Arnold, let's talk. If everyone knew about our relationship—"

Arnold knew she was threatening him.

"Go on," Arnold said in a deep voice.

"About our kid, don't you want to meet him?" Sophia brought up the kid.

"How much credibility do you think your words hold?" Arnold asked.

"I heard from Annabelle that you seem to have special feelings for Cordelia. Her divorce must be for you. If she knew about our past and the child—" Sophia continued.

She was very jealous but still laughed. "I never thought Cordelia and I were born to be each other's enemy."

"Do you think you're qualified to compare with her?" Arnold sneered. Sophia was utterly ridiculous.

"Arnold!" Sophia said through gritted teeth. She was a bit angry, but she held back.

"I'm not trying to threaten you with the kid. I want to bury the hatchet." Sophia smiled again. "Can we meet and talk?"

"Just say what you want," Arnold said in a deep voice.

"I want to collaborate with the Douglas Group for mutual benefit."

Sophia chuckled. "I'm doing this for your good."

"Is that so?" Arnold sneered.

"If we could join forces to drive the Cunningham Group out of Silverlight City," Sophia said calmly, and then added, "then the Sanders Group would have a greater advantage in the Silverlight City market."

"You're quite ambitious." Arnold sneered.

"You know what to do. Cordelia could never truly like you; she is a very pragmatic woman, and all she cares about is her work," Sophia said, speaking ill of Cordelia.

Arnold remained silent.

"Let's meet at the café on Maplewood Avenue at four o'clock tomorrow afternoon. If you don't show up..." Sophia threatened.

"Fine," Arnold agreed. He was also curious about what other schemes she could have.

He hung up the phone directly, frowning, his expression not looking good.

"Sir!" The butler ran in from outside. "There's a lady outside, and she seems very hostile."

Arnold was stunned momentarily, then got up and walked out.

At the door, Cordelia stood with a dark expression, looking at Arnold.

Arnold's temper vanished instantly, his demeanor shifting from the cold, domineering CEO to a somewhat flustered state.

He raised his hand to touch the tip of his nose and smiled. "Cordelia, what brings you here so late?"

"You know why I'm here." Cordelia pushed aside the nanny and walked up to Arnold. "What will it take for you to give up the collaboration with Howard? Name your terms."

Arnold raised an eyebrow. "You want me to give up the collaboration. We agreed that only if I beat you in the business would you forgive me, but now, you want me to make it easy for you."

Cordelia snorted coldly. "I've already stepped down from managing the company. There's no need for you to compete anymore."

Arnold thought for a moment. It was true that Nolan now managed the Cunningham Group.

"So, should I give up a collaboration opportunity that's already in my hands? Do you know how much Howard is offering me?" Arnold pretended to be reluctant.

"That's why I'm asking you to name your terms. You only get one chance," Cordelia reminded Arnold.

Seeing Arnold remain silent, Cordelia turned to leave.

"I agree." Arnold panicked and quickly grabbed Cordelia's wrist. "I'll name my terms."

Cordelia looked at Arnold. "Go ahead."

"After you divorce Willian, marry me," Arnold said seriously.

Cordelia squinted her eyes. "You think too highly of yourself. Goodbye."

Arnold laughed. "Alright, I agree. I won't ask for any terms, but I have something to tell you; it's about Sophia." Arnold was helpless.

Sophia wasn't wrong about one thing: Cordelia was an independent woman, and love was not her priority.

Cordelia looked at Arnold. "Finally, you are willing to tell me."

"Come in." Arnold invited Cordelia into the living room and instructed the nanny to prepare her favorite fruits.

Cordelia remained silent throughout.

"Sophia is using her relationship with me as leverage to force me to collaborate with Annabelle and the Douglas family. She claims we have a kid together. It's not very credible, but it's her bargaining chip," Arnold told Cordelia everything.

Cordelia's gaze deepened as she looked at Arnold.

With Alex as a precedent, Arnold seemed to have become much more frank.

"With your abilities, would you really be threatened by her?" Cordelia laughed.

She knew Arnold too well; even ten Sophias wouldn't be a match for him.

"I want to help you," Arnold said directly.

"Howard seems to be targeting Ethan and Jasmine. They are your son-in-law and precious daughter." Arnold sighed.

Otherwise, he wouldn't waste time on such childish matters.

Cordelia remained silent for a long time before speaking. "Alright, I believe you."

"You can always trust me." Arnold smiled bitterly. "In this lifetime, I've only deceived you once, and I swore never to make that mistake again."
