Chapter 378 Connor's Plot Against Tom

"Women who can reach Mrs. Everhart's position won't pity themselves." Ethan looked at Jasmine. "So, there's no need to worry too much."

Jasmine paused for a moment and nodded.

Yes, happiness was something you strove for yourself, and most of the time, misery was something you bought upon yourself.

Evelina's intelligence and bravery, her adept handling of life, offered a wealth of lessons for Jasmine.
Jasmine had been studying well since she was young, and her learning ability was quite strong. At least she had learned a lot from Betty.

Ethan ruffled Jasmine's hair. "Nolan called me, probably to reconcile."

Jasmine was very displeased and didn't want to forgive Nolan.

"What's the plan this time?" Ethan prayed in his heart that Jasmine would resign and come to his side.

But he didn't want to interfere too much with her choices; he still hoped that Jasmine would decide her own life and path.

"If Nolan comes to beg me, I'll ask for a raise," Jasmine chuckled.

Her antics amused Ethan. "Alright, let Nolan give you a raise."

Coastal Restaurant.

Annabelle looked very upset, clearly angry.

"What's wrong? Who made you angry?" Connor walked over, gentlemanly asking,

"I thought Serena's funeral would plunge Jasmine back into the whirlpool of public opinion, but it turned out to be like this now." Annabelle was furious. "This Karen and the Wilson family are useless."

If it weren't for Benjamin's affair and illegitimate child causing trouble, Jasmine would be the one being criticized by the public now.

"Are you very resentful towards Jasmine?" Connor asked lightly,

"Just because of Jasmine, why should she compete with me!" Annabelle clenched her hands tightly.

Jasmine must be eliminated.

"After so many failures, you still won't give up?" Connor just smiled.

Annabelle was very displeased. "If you had told me Jasmine's fatal weakness earlier, would I have failed so many times?"

Connor just smiled and remained silent.

"Do you have time tonight?" Annabelle asked, taking the initiative to touch Connor's hand with a meaningful smile.

"I already booked a room." Annabelle pushed the room key card onto the table.

"Sorry, I'm very busy today." Connor still kept Annabelle at bay.

"When will you have time?" Annabelle wasn't angry either.

She knew this result.
"My schedule is not very fixed." Connor smiled.

"I'm available anytime." Annabelle had decided to sacrifice herself a bit.

After all, a smart person like Connor wouldn't help her without some benefit.

Annabelle just wanted to know Jasmine's fatal weakness.

"Alright, then, wait for my call." Connor smiled and held her fingers back, the two engaging in a subtle game of wits.

In this dim environment, even eye contact seemed extremely ambiguous.

Annabelle smiled very seductively, her low-cut dress highlighting her exquisite figure, enticing lines.

Connor remained composed, appearing uninterested in Annabelle's eyes.

After teasing enough, Annabelle left.

In her eyes, she was the hunter, and Connor was the prey.

Unfortunately...

Connor's House Downstairs.

Ethan had his cousin Tom cause trouble at his house, so Connor went to stir things up at Mitchell's place, determined not to let anyone off the hook.

But today, Connor decided to have a good chat with Tom.

"You're back; where have you been playing these days?" Tom was playing games on the sofa without even looking up.

Connor took a deep breath, pointing at the clothes casually scattered on the floor and even women's underwear! "Did you bring a woman here?"

Connor felt like he was about to explode; this house was beyond saving.

Disinfection, renovation, nothing could salvage it!

"Don't panic." Tom glanced at Connor. "If I bring a man back, would that scare you?"

Connor felt like Tom was deliberately provoking him.

"Tom, there's something Ethan wants me to talk to you about." Connor suppressed his anger and sat on the opposite sofa.

"Ethan?" Tom became interested, even putting down his game. "Go on."

"There's a woman who has been pestering Ethan, holding a little leverage over him, always demanding. She even gave Ethan a room key card, planning to scheme against him." Connor placed a room key card on the table.

Tom's face darkened. "What woman? Daring to threaten Ethan?"

"She's very troublesome; we need to keep a little leverage on this woman to eliminate her threat to Ethan. Do you understand what I mean?" Connor looked at Tom very seriously.

Tom seemed to understand. "This woman is setting up a meeting with Ethan in a room? Is that what you mean?"

"Ethan definitely won't go; he cares a lot about his reputation. This matter requires someone to make a sacrifice. You're Ethan's cousin, and you're similar in height and build. Keep the lights off, and it'll work." Connor was coaxing persuasively.

"Why should I be the one to sacrifice? I care about my reputation, too. Besides, what does this woman look like?" Tom said, displeased.

Connor rubbed his temples. "Is that important? You won't actually be sacrificing; just record a video and wait for the reporters to show up."

"Wouldn't I become famous then?" Tom felt a sense of shame.

"You don't need to feel ashamed here." Connor's mouth twitched.

After some thought, Tom realized he had nothing to be ashamed of. "Why don't you go? You and Ethan have a similar build."

"I..." Connor took a deep breath, having to lie. "I'm not interested in women."

Tom was shocked, covering his bare chest with his hands. "You like men?"

Connor endured.

"I couldn't tell." Tom looked at Connor again.

Connor suppressed his anger.

"What do I gain from this?" Tom became smarter and ready to negotiate.

"I told Ethan that if this goes well, he'll buy you a Corvette." Connor smiled, opening his mouth.

At that moment, Tom thought Connor was a genius!

"Alright, I'll ask Ethan." Tom wanted to call Ethan.

"Don't say anything yet. That woman is pestering Ethan, and he asked me for advice. I haven't told him about this plan yet; I came to discuss it with you first. Once you handle this, tell Ethan it was your idea, and all the credit will be yours." Connor's persuasion skills were top-notch.

Tom nodded. "Okay."

Picking up the room key card on the table, Tom spoke again, "You better come quickly to save me. What if that woman really has ill intentions towards me? I won't take responsibility!"

"Okay." Connor smiled with hidden meaning.

"And don't bring women here in the future," Connor warned Tom solemnly. "Especially not to my bed."

"I didn't go to the bed, just on the sofa where you're sitting." Tom pointed to the sofa.

Connor stood up abruptly, his face turning pale, gritting his teeth.

He felt insulted.
