Chapter 264: Annabelle is going to marry Daniel

"What did you guys talk about?" Nolan asked, with a sullen expression on his face, at the dinner table.

"We just chatted casually," Wilson replied softly.

"Who am I supposed to toast with?" Nolan frowned, clearly reluctant, but still obeyed Wilson.

Wilson was surprised that Nolan would cooperate with her.

"Follow me," Wilson looked at Nolan happily, feeling a bit better.

Although Nolan looked serious, he would listen to her opinions.

Nolan snorted and followed behind Wilson.

"Is that Wilson?"

"She's the fake heiress of the Wilson Family, shamelessly stealing someone else's life."

"Yes, that's her. She dresses so poorly, probably can't even afford a decent meal."

"I can't believe Nolan would hire a woman like her as his assistant. He must be new to Silverlight City and doesn't know the situation."

Someone recognized Wilson and whispered quietly.

These people had malicious intentions towards Wilson, someone she knew before.

"Mr. Cunningham, why did you hire her as your assistant?" someone bravely asked, "Do you know who she is? She's just a fake heiress who has been in prison."

Wilson was stunned, not expecting to encounter someone she knew here.

"Who do you think you are?" Nolan confronted the person.
The person was shocked and opened their mouth, but couldn't say a word.

Nolan was arrogant towards everyone.

His poker face was not completely useless.

At least now his presence was too powerful, and no one dared to provoke him again.

Wilson anxiously followed behind Nolan. She was grateful for Nolan's bad temper, otherwise anyone would dare to demean and slander her today.

"Everywhere you go, you cause trouble," Nolan muttered under his breath.

Wilson lowered her head and remained silent.

"Hmph!" Nolan snorted and walked up to the people Wilson had mentioned. He had a gloomy face and remained silent.

Wilson was shocked, he wasn't here to offer a toast.

Clearly, Nolan was used to being praised and flattered in the business world and social gatherings, and didn't know how to please others.

"Hello everyone, Mr. Cunningham would like to get to know everyone. Cunningham Enterprises is planning to shift its development focus to Silverlight City, and we will have many opportunities to collaborate in the future," Wilson said with a smile, very appropriately.

Several project leaders were shocked as they looked at Nolan. He was Nolan from Cunningham Enterprises. They thought that if they greeted Nolan proactively, he might not respond. But he took the initiative to greet them. "Mr. Cunningham, hello!"

"We will have many opportunities in the future, and I hope we can cooperate closely," Nolan replied.

"Mr. Cunningham, I am from the Tronson Group."

"Our primary business is in construction materials."

Several people quickly handed their business cards to Nolan.

Wilson also gave out Nolan's business cards to everyone. "To be honest, Cunningham Enterprises is just testing the waters with this project. I don't know the exact situation, but I do know that all of you are leaders in the industry."

"Mr. Cunningham, you are too kind. Actually, we all know that this project has already been tentatively awarded to Wilson Enterprises. We are just here to accompany the bidding process."

"That's right. It doesn't matter if we get the project or not, the main thing is that we get to know Mr. Cunningham!"

Nolan gave Wilson a meaningful glance and took the initiative to offer them a toast.

"We are aware of some insider information. The villagers of Westing are too greedy and demand too much. The proposals from ordinary people cannot meet their requirements. We initially wanted to compete by lowering the price, but there is no profit to be made, so we had no choice but to give up."

"Yes, only large corporations like Wilson Enterprises have sufficient cash flow and don't require quick returns on investment, so they dare to compete."
"We were just accompanying the bidding process. If Cunningham Enterprises wants to compete, they definitely have an advantage over Wilson Enterprises. We heard that Wilson Enterprises has been severely suppressed by Crestwood Development Group recently and their funding chain has been broken."

Wilson nodded with a smile. "With everyone's support, Mr. Cunningham will do his best to try."

"Yes, Cunningham Enterprises is the only one that can compete with Wilson Enterprises."

Nolan remained cold-faced throughout, but his expression seemed to soften.

"To everyone's success. We will have many opportunities to collaborate in the future," Nolan unexpectedly spoke up.

This surprised Eric, as Nolan usually ignores everyone.

They exchanged a few polite remarks with smiles. Wilson took Nolan back to the dining table. "Mr. Cunningham, did you notice any issues?"

"What issues?" Nolan raised an eyebrow and deliberately asked.

"The issue lies with the project manager at Westing. Tomorrow, I will go with the lowest price to meet him," Wilson confidently stated, believing she could secure the project.

"Wilson Enterprises must have met the other party's conditions. Do you know Wilson Enterprises' lowest price?" Nolan looked at Wilson.

Wilson nodded. "I already know."

Nolan froze for a moment, showing some surprise. "Evan told you the lowest price?"

"He didn't say it, but I guessed it," Wilson's eyes were pure.

Nolan was astonished for a moment and snorted. "You're lying again."

Wilson sighed and didn't explain any further. She praised Nolan. "You did a great job tonight. Thank you for your cooperation."

Nolan snorted.

She knew he was just being nice.

Wilson had no choice but to stay silent.

The cocktail party ended, and Evan was waiting outside.

"Wilson, I'll drive you home," Evan offered to take Wilson home.

"No need. I will accompany my assistant," Nolan had no intention of letting her leave.

"Mr. Cunningham, Wilson is my sister, we can go together," Evan frowned.

Evan understood that the present Wilson was no longer the same Wilson who could easily be bullied in the past.

"I'm not your sister," Wilson directly refused Evan.

Nolan sneered. "Mr. Wilson, no need to trouble you."

Evan stood dumbfounded, unable to recover for a while. "Wilson."

"Let's go, I'll take you home," Nolan gestured for Wilson to get in the car.

"I don't need Mr. Cunningham to trouble himself," Ethan taunted, leaning against the car door not far away. "I'm here to pick up my wife."

Upon seeing Ethan, Wilson's eyes lit up and she ran over to him.

Ethan reached out and pulled Wilson into his arms. "You took a risk, and what if you fell?" Wilson asked.

"Why did you come?"

"I'm picking up my wife from work," Ethan raised an eyebrow.

Wilson looked down awkwardly. He had spoken so loudly for Nolan to hear.

Nolan was very serious. "Wilson, let's go back for a meeting."

"It's the end of the workday, Mr. Cunningham. Will you pay overtime?" Ethan asked.

"Has Stellar Enterprises gone bankrupt?" Nolan snorted.

"Soon," Ethan opened the car door and let Wilson in. "In light of the impending collapse of Stellar Enterprises, Wilson won't be working overtime tonight."

Nolan grunted angrily and turned to leave.

"Mr. Cunningham," Eric, seeing Nolan's anger, quickly caught up with him. "We have many opportunities for future cooperation with Stellar Enterprises. Please don't ruin your relationship with Mr. Ethan Douglas."

"Hmph, Annabelle called today and said she wants to get engaged to Daniel. Once these two families are engaged, Ethan will be kicked out of Stellar Enterprises. His fate is obvious," Nolan said angrily, slamming the car door shut.

Annabelle was going to get engaged to Daniel and demanded that they register and hold the wedding within a month. She was obviously provoked by Ethan.

Ethan had hurt Annabelle. Regardless of his future, he didn't deserve sympathy.
