Chapter 433 The Rift Between Sophia and Dean
Willian felt humiliated. He lost face because of Sophia, who had centered everything around herself for over twenty years. His expression was grim now.
Watching Willian run out to chase after Sophia, Jasmine sighed.
If Willian knew her true nature, he might not be able to handle it.
Sophia was not a gentle and kind woman at all.
Edward furrowed his brows. "According to inheritance laws, as long as it's Willian's child, they can obtain a portion of the inheritance through legal action."
"Then let her sue, just wait and see," Cordelia said in a deep voice.
Edward nodded, looking at the others. "We need to be prepared."
"Okay," Jasmine nodded.
"Jasmine, after work today, how about I take you out for a meal?" Edward asked with a big smile.
Jasmine thought for a moment, she did have something to discuss with Edward.
Lily needed someone to cooperate with, and Edward was the smartest in the Cunningham family, the least likely to be noticed.
Seeing Sophia's behavior, Lily had no other choice but to gain Sophia's trust to understand her current situation and next steps.
"Jasmine, you promised me," Edgar said.
Jasmine felt conflicted. What should she do? She had indeed promised Edward earlier.
"I'll take Jasmine to dinner, and you can take her out for a late-night snack," Edward arranged assertively.
"Why?" Edgar felt dissatisfied.
"Late-night snacks give you more time to bond with Jasmine," Edward easily convinced Edgar.
Edgar suddenly found it very reasonable. Going to barbecue too early wouldn't have the right atmosphere.
Nolan remained silent throughout.
They cleverly avoided mentioning Cordelia's talk of divorce.
They were all afraid of putting too much pressure on Cordelia.
In fact, whether to divorce or not was Cordelia's own choice.
They didn't want Cordelia to continue being bound by the Cunningham family.
They all knew that the Cunningham family had used morality, gratitude, and responsibility to shackle Cordelia for many years.
Now it was time for her to break free and live her own life.
At Willian's Residence.
Willian chased Sophia back home, and his face looked very bad. "Sophia, what do you mean today? You want to sue. You didn't discuss it with me. I don't agree."
Sophia didn't want to keep up the pretense with him anymore. She was in a good mood now, holding a trump card in her hand.
Willian no longer had much value.
"Did you hear what I said?" Willian was very angry. What did Sophia mean by this?
"Willian, Cordelia is going to divorce you. Once you lose her, you'll have nothing left. Look at how pathetic your life has been all these years," Sophia couldn't help but mock.
"You're truly pathetic," Sophia laughed. "All these years, you've never dared to divorce Cordelia because you know that if you did, you'd have nothing left."
"For being with me, your son disowns you, your daughter dislikes you, and now Cordelia wants to divorce you. Your old age will be spent in loneliness and pain, Willian. This is the price of betraying your marriage."
Sophia smirked. She didn't think she was wrong, she just knew that saying these words would make Willian suffer.
Willian looked at Sophia in shock, as if he couldn't believe his ears.
"I think you're crazy," Willian's voice trembled. "You've been with me all these years just for the Cunningham family shares, to go against Cordelia."
"I thought you'd never see the truth until the day you died," Sophia covered her mouth and laughed lightly. "Willian, if I'm not after money or shares, what else can you offer me? Your heart, your feelings are worthless."
"These things have no value, and even if they did, you wouldn't give them to me," Sophia knew all too well that Willian would never give her love.
It was just that she had the means to seduce him.
"You bitch!" Willian gritted his teeth. If it weren't for the fact that he couldn't hit a woman, he would have struck her today.
"Get out!" Willian exclaimed angrily.
Willian told Sophia to get out.
"I want to see what kind of life you'll have without me! Have you forgotten that you were so poor that you were picking up trash on the street and fainted before I took you in?"
Without him, Sophia had nothing.
"Willian, you're really too stupid," Sophia laughed, picked up her bag, and left without taking anything.
She was certain that Arnold would take care of her in the future.
She and Arnold had once been married.
Even though they didn't have a marriage certificate, they had held a wedding.
Arnold couldn't back out now.
From now on, she was the wife of the president of the Sanders Group.
Willian was nothing.
Watching Sophia out of sight, Willian went mad with rage, smashing things around the house.
Cordelia wanted a divorce. This was impossible.
He would never divorce her.
At the Silverlight City Branch of the Sanders Group.
Arnold, to gain sympathy, came to the company in a wheelchair.
Derek was helpless. Clearly, their president's legs weren't injured at all, but everywhere they went, he had to push the wheelchair.
He said it was to gain Cordelia's sympathy.
Derek sighed. "Mr. Sanders, the Cunningham Group held an emergency board meeting yesterday. The content was explosive. Do you want to hear it?"
"Go ahead," Arnold said disinterestedly, staring at his phone with some disappointment.
From the time of the incident until now, from the moment Cordelia left the hotel until now, there hadn't been a single word of concern.
She hadn't called to ask about his injuries.
This woman was too heartless.
Leaning back in his wheelchair, Arnold felt utterly despondent.
"Mr. Sanders, Ms. Richardson has given all her shares to her four children and appointed Nolan as the new president of the Cunningham Group, making him the largest shareholder."
Arnold nodded, as expected.
"Ms. Richardson also stated at the meeting that she wants nothing and is seeking a divorce from Willian."
The wheelchair came to an abrupt stop, Arnold's long legs planted firmly on the ground, his back tensed. "Derek, you really don't know how to prioritize. Next time, put such important information at the front."
Derek shivered. "Yes, Mr. Sanders."
"You just said Cordelia wants a divorce?" Arnold stood up excitedly. Cordelia wanted a divorce.
This wasn't a dream, was it?
"Yes," Derek nodded, whispering, "But Cordelia only mentioned the divorce. She didn't say she would be with you afterward."
Arnold's face instantly darkened.
"Mr. Sanders, there's a lady downstairs looking for you. She says she's your wife," the receptionist came over and said respectfully.
Arnold was momentarily excited, thinking it might be Cordelia.
Was it because he had been kidnapped that Cordelia suddenly started pursuing him?
This wasn't a dream.
Arnold ran excitedly towards the elevator.
"Mr. Sanders, wheelchair!" Derek chased after him, pushing the wheelchair.
