Chapter 240 Ethan Tells the Wilson Family He and Jasmine Are Married

"What are Edgar's dietary restrictions?" Jasmine washed her hands with the three kids and prepared dinner.

"He doesn't eat at home," Ethan spoke before Edgar.

Thinking that if this person had any issues, he should leave with his son right away.

"I don't eat ketchup, potatoes, or vegetables," Edgar said seriously.

Jasmine awkwardly opened her mouth.

"Dad, you're picky, and that's not right," Joe wrinkled his cute little face, sighed, and wondered how Edgar could win Jasmine over like this.

"But!" Edgar touched his nose and suddenly remembered it was Jasmine who cooked. He changed the subject. "If it's you, Jasmine, cooking, I'll eat it! I'll even eat poison."

Now, Ethan's face became even darker. "Tomorrow, when we go to the zoo, you can stay behind. Those peacocks can't court like you."

He really didn't know how the Cunningham Family managed to raise such a courtship-skilled animal.

"Jasmine, I'll help you cook," Edgar offered earnestly.

"You can cook?" Ethan looked at Edgar with disdain.

"If I don't know, I can learn. After I marry Jasmine, I'll definitely be a good husband. Cooking, for sure, I'll do it," Edgar intended to provoke Ethan.

Jasmine nervously looked at Ethan, not wanting to be involved.

Ethan snorted. "That's never going to happen in your life."

Edgar rolled his eyes. "Jasmine, is he jealous of me?"

Jasmine chuckled awkwardly. "I don't need help."

Jasmine made three dishes and a soup. While cooking, she watched Ethan teaching the three children how to play with educational toys.

This peaceful moment was something she never dared to dream of in the past.

Even now, she still felt a sense of panic for no reason.

"Mom, your phone is ringing," Joe brought Jasmine's phone over.

Jasmine glanced at it and her fingers froze for a moment. It was Benjamin, Serena's father.

She wiped her hands and answered the call. "Hello."

"Come to the hospital," Benjamin's voice was low.

Jasmine took a deep breath. "I won't go."

"Jasmine, do you think you're invincible now?" Benjamin was angry. "You think by clinging to Ethan, you can have peace of mind? Now Ethan can't even protect himself, how long do you think he can protect you? I advise you to listen and not cause trouble for Ethan or yourself."

Jasmine felt a surge of despair towards her father, whom she had relied on for twenty-one years. "You know that I had to go to great lengths to attach myself to Ethan. Now, I have nothing to fear because he will take care of me."

Jasmine used to be grateful for the twenty-one years of nurturing he had received, but Benjamin and Karen had gradually pushed her into a corner.

Jasmine hid in the bathroom and leaned against the door, not wanting to worry Ethan.

"Jasmine!" Benjamin exclaimed angrily. "You are not as innocent as you seem."

"I heard that you want to back out. You originally agreed to donate your kidney, but now you disagree?" Benjamin spoke again.

"You think I just lost a kidney, but that was risking my life," Jasmine clenched her teeth, speaking once again. "You want to save your daughter's life, and I have to cherish my life for my child."

"So, are you sure you want to back out?" Benjamin asked again.

"I never wanted to agree with you. It was you who forced me," Jasmine took a deep breath. "I paid off my debt to you after five years of imprisonment. It was you who didn't consider the twenty-one years of affection and instead accused me of extortion. Mr. Wilson, you personally destroyed our past relationship."

"Fine, you have some backbone," Benjamin said in a threatening tone. "I want to see how long Ethan can protect you."

Benjamin sneered. "When Ethan gets kicked out of the Douglas family and has nothing left, your life will be even more miserable than five years of imprisonment."

"That day will never come." Jasmine hung up Benjamin's phone directly.

Previously, she had been valued for twenty-one years of nurturing.

Now, it had truly been exhausted.

Jasmine was about to open the door when Ethan blocked her at the bathroom entrance.

Closing the bathroom door, Ethan cornered Jasmine against the wall. "What's wrong? Were you crying?"

Jasmine shook her head, keeping it lowered so Ethan wouldn't see.

"Who called you? The Wilsons?" Ethan had already guessed.

Jasmine didn't say anything.

"We are husband and wife. Everything, including all your organs, belongs to us as joint property. If they want it, let them come to me," Ethan's face darkened, his voice filled with anger.

Jasmine's eyes became redder as he grabbed Ethan's clothes. "You will protect me, right?"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Ethan pressed Jasmine's head against his chest. "Leave this matter to me."

Jasmine's phone rang again.

It seemed that Benjamin hadn't handled things well, and Karen was calling again.

Jasmine didn't have Karen's number saved, but she remembered it.

She hung up directly, and her tears landed on the phone screen.

Just as she hung up, another call came in.

It was Evan.

Ethan, with a stern expression, took Jasmine's phone.

He always respected her, no matter what choices she made or how she wanted to do things. He gave her the freedom.

Because he knew she had a sense of propriety, and he knew he had the ability to protect her.

But now, he couldn't bear it.

He couldn't stand seeing Jasmine being bullied like this.

"Hello?" Ethan answered the phone in a low voice. "It seems that your whole family is together. You can put your phone on speaker."

On the other end of the phone, Evan was clearly taken aback. He didn't expect it to be Ethan.

Ethan said angrily, "I will say this once, and only once. The reason why I haven't taken action against the Wilson family until now is because of the twenty-one years you've raised Jasmine. Don't push your luck."

"Ethan, you're younger than me and yet so arrogant!" On the phone, Karen yelled hysterically. "You shouldn't go too far..."

"Mrs. Wilson, who is it that's going too far?" Ethan's anger was rising, and he even reached out to rub Jasmine's head to signal her not to worry.

"Jasmine and I are already married. We have a marriage certificate, so we are legally husband and wife. If you want my wife to donate a kidney, you must have my consent. I don't agree, so you can try if you want." Ethan directly stated his relationship with Jasmine.

There was no need to hide it.

Jasmine looked up at Ethan in astonishment. He really said that?

On the other end of the phone, everyone fell silent.

Clearly, the Wilsons were also shocked.

"No wonder that little bitch suddenly became assertive. She has already registered with Ethan!" On the other end, Karen's voice, though distant, could still be heard as she went crazy.
