Chapter 74 Ethan Arrived to Rescue Jasmine at the Hotel

Ethan had a restless night's sleep, He had struggled with insomnia for a long time due to some past experiences, often relying on sleeping pills to fall asleep.
On the bedside table lay the sleeping pills Liam had set out in advance, but today, Ethan didn't take them. Jasmine was constantly on his mind.
It was strange.
Ethan had never felt so drawn to a woman like this before.
She spoke so indifferently when she said that she couldn't hear from her left ear.
She even claimed to have attempted suicide many times.
She didn't cry or make a fuss, as if she was just recounting a trivial matter.
He glanced at the clock and saw that it was already 3 a.m.
Ethan felt agitated and rubbed his forehead in frustration.
Why did he keep involuntarily thinking about that woman?
The phone screen indicated an incoming call, but in sleep mode, the phone wouldn't even vibrate.
...
Suburbs.
Jasmine trembled all over as she stared at the phone. Her body was trembling, and she was almost out of strength.
"Miss, let's call the police." The night jogger was frightened; she had lost a lot of blood.
With red eyes, Jasmine continued dialing Ethan's number, unwilling to give up.
Finally, on the third attempt, Ethan answered. "Hello?"
His voice was distant, sounding hoarse and weary.
"Ethan..." Jasmine's emotions were heightened.
Her voice was choked with tears, every word was a struggle.
On the other end of the line, Ethan's breathing tightened. He sat up abruptly and cautiously asked, "Where are you?"
It was Jasmine.
He recognized Jasmine's voice.
"Where is this..." Jasmine weakly inquired, her vision darkening.
The passerby quickly took the phone. "On Warren Street, your friend is in bad shape; she’s covered in blood. Should I take her to the hospital?"
"Help her stop the bleeding; I'm on my way."
After hanging up, Ethan called an ambulance, grabbed the car keys from the table, and rushed out in a panic.
He had a premonition that something had happened to Jasmine.
Today, when Liam mentioned that the Brown family's people had all come to Boston, he knew they might not spare Jasmine.
But Jasmine had been with Henry all this time; he hadn't expected anything major to happen.
Cursing in frustration, Ethan drove towards the suburbs.
The caller said she was covered in blood.
When Ethan arrived, the ambulance had not yet arrived.
Frantically getting out of the car, Ethan saw a trembling figure curled up in the roadside bushes.
Her face was pale.
Her feet were bare and frozen to a bluish purple; there was even blood between her toes.
Jasmine stared blankly into the distance, but as soon as she saw Ethan get out of the car, she burst into tears.
As he ran towards her from under the glow of light from the car, he seemed like... a deity coming to save her.
Was there really a deity who hadn't abandoned her?
But it was only fleeting.
Ethan couldn't protect her forever; she knew that very well.
He could only offer her temporary relief.
"Ethan..." Jasmine's voice was hoarse.
Ethan stood in front of Jasmine, breathing heavily.
Ethan quickly took off his coat, draped it over Jasmine, and pulled her into his arms. "The ambulance will be here soon, hold on."
Now that she was finally able to relax, Jasmine passed out. She had held on for so long.
He came... He really came...
In truth, Jasmine hadn't held out much hope.
She thought if Ethan didn't come, she would choose suicide.
After she died, the Wilson family, Brown family, and the Douglas family would no longer be fixated on Richard and Justin.
But Ethan came...
Struggling to breathe, Jasmine slumped heavily into Ethan's arms.
So warm...
He was really warm.
Ethan's breath caught once he felt how cold Jasmine's body was.
It was incredibly cold right now. The temperature in Boston had dropped to 20 degrees Fahrenheit, even the puddles were frozen.
How long had she sat barefoot here, waiting for him?
"Don't be afraid, everything will be okay."
Ethan's voice sounded distant to Jasmine but unusually clear.
So warm.
She felt truly warm and instinctively nuzzled into Ethan's embrace.
"Jasmine, stay awake; you can't sleep now." Ethan urged Jasmine to stay awake; she had lost too much blood to sleep at this moment.
Jasmine was too exhausted.
"So tired..." Jasmine choked out as tears streamed down her face.
She was truly exhausted.
"How long must I atone for my sins?" She murmured.
As if questioning a messenger from hell, she wondered when she could be free from atonement.
"You have nothing to atone for."
Struggling to open her eyes, Jasmine heard someone respond to her.
In that moment, as she felt herself descend into hell, she felt as if an angel ad reached out to grab her hand.
The ambulance arrived, and Ethan carried Jasmine into the vehicle, never letting her go.
The doctor and nurse nervously examined the wound on Jasmine's neck, gasping in shock. "Did you call the police?"
Ethan nodded. "The police will go to the hospital."
Ethan's face was grim. By escalating things to this point, he would make sure the Brown family was taught a lesson.
...
Abandoned factory.
Not long after Jasmine escaped, Evan turned back in his car and rammed open the warehouse door.
He felt like he was going crazy. He was breathing heavily as he searched everywhere for Jasmine.
But Jasmine was no longer in the warehouse.
It was empty. All he found was a pool of blood.
Evan's fingers tingled as he lit a cigarette, turning to follow the trail of blood.
He found nothing.
Frustrated, he punched the car window.
In Evan's mind, all he could hear was Jasmine saying, "My name is not Jasmine Wilson... My surname is Avery."
...
Boston, Chamber of Commerce banquet.
The banquet began at 3 p.m.
As the organizer of the event, Henry naturally arrived early.
Ben looked panicked, wanting to tell Henry that something had happened to Jasmine and that she was no longer at Serene Haven, but he was intercepted by Mr. Patrick Sr.'s men.
"Ben, Mr. Patrick Sr. wants to see you."
Ben's heart sank; he knew trouble was brewing.
If he was taken away, Henry wouldn't know that Jasmine was in trouble.
He wanted to shout so Henry could hear, but he was afraid that Jasmine wasn't as important to Henry as he thought. If he shouted, his career would be over.
"Ben, if you offend Mr. Patrick Sr., you won't have a place in Boston." Mr. Patrick Sr.'s men warned Ben.
Before he could speak, they covered his mouth and pushed him into the car.
"You're going too far!" Ben shouted weakly. "To deal with an innocent woman, you’d use such despicable means. How can you live with yourselves?"
"Ben, you've been with Mr. Patrick for many years; how haven't you learned by now? If it's none of your business, you should stay out of it. What? Did you sleep with Jasmine too?" Daniel was in the passenger seat.
Ben's breath caught, and he instantly understood how dire the situation was.
This time, Daniel, Evan, and the Brown family had joined forces with Patrick Sr.
Jasmine, a woman with no power or background, would be trampled into the mud.
How could she resist?
"Daniel, you were once her fiancé. Are you not afraid of regretting treating her this way?" Ben angrily looked at Daniel. "What did she do wrong? Is it her fault she was switched at birth and raped in that hotel? You only vent your frustrations on her but don’t touch those who hurt her. You’re a coward!"
