Chapter 660 Did Jasmine Plagiarize Deborah's Project Plan?

After storming off from the office, Jessica was lying low somewhere, completely out of Deborah's sight.

Deborah had been counting on Jessica to back her up, but the moment Betty came out cursing, Jessica was the first to bolt, leaving Deborah in the lurch. Now, she was standing there with a sour expression, clearly seething.

Noticing the look on her face, a senior executive leaned in towards Avery and whispered, "If Deborah lands the investment for the new energy project today, your position could be in jeopardy."

This was no thoughtful heads-up; it was a deliberate attempt to provoke her.

Most of the senior execs in the company were in Deborah's corner. Deborah's smartest move was her knack for exploiting others' weaknesses and secrets. None of those senior execs were squeaky clean, and with Deborah holding their secrets, they had no choice but to back her.

"Whether she can secure it is still up in the air. Why are you so sure?" Avery sneered, leaning back in her chair. "You all sing her praises. But if she fails to get the investment, wouldn't that be a laugh?"

The senior exec was momentarily stunned, said nothing, and shot a quick glance at Deborah.

Deborah snorted and spoke in a low voice, "Don't worry. I'm determined to get this project."

Avery laughed. "So confident, huh? Looks like when Miss Cunningham came to slap you, it wasn't enough for you."

Deborah clenched her fists in anger but couldn't lose her cool because of her pride.

"Next is the Hawthorne Group's presentation on the future development of the new energy sector."

Deborah snorted and signaled her team member to go up.

The team member nodded and walked over with a laptop. "Our Hawthorne Group's future focus in the new energy sector will be on solar and wind energy."

Watching her team member present the PPT, Deborah proudly lifted her chin. This plan was optimized and upgraded based on a proposal Beth had brought over.

With her team presenting first, no matter how well Jasmine presented her plan, it would seem like a copycat move.

Deborah shot a provocative glance at Jasmine, smirking, waiting for Jasmine to make a fool of herself.

On the other hand, Jasmine was in no rush. She leisurely opened her laptop and briefed her team members.

"What do we do? Their plan is 85% similar to ours," the team member said, panicking.

Jasmine shook her head and opened a new PPT. "Use this plan."

The team member was shocked. "You had another plan prepared?"

"No." Jasmine tapped the laptop. "Assist me in a moment."

The team member nodded.

"Are you confident?" Betty asked softly.

Jasmine nodded. "Don't worry."

"I heard Alex isn't coming. So Everhart Group's senior execs are deciding. Cuz Evelina wants a divorce, and Alex is busy chasing her on her trip."

Betty glanced around and whispered again, "Deborah is very discreet and ruthless. With Alex not here, I'm afraid Deborah has bought all the senior execs under him."

Deborah held their secrets, so they had to obey her.

This was why Deborah was so confident in using Jasmine's plan direction.

Jasmine clenched her fingers and nodded.

She was worried about the same thing—that these people had been bought.

"I'll make a big scene later and see if they dare to keep covering for her," Jasmine whispered.

Betty nodded. "Go ahead boldly; I've got your back. Let's see who dares to mess with you."

Jasmine smiled, stood up, and walked over with her laptop.

The senior execs up front were from the Everhart Group, and the investors in the back usually followed their lead.

After Deborah's team wrapped up their presentation, the audience nodded in agreement.

As for Jasmine's LY, not many had high hopes.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Jasmine from LY. Our company's future in the new energy sector will focus on electric vehicles, batteries, and other areas."

Jasmine stood confidently in front of the screen, presenting the PPT.

Down below, Deborah's face instantly changed, frowning at Jasmine.

She had other plans up her sleeve?

But so what? Even if she had other plans, the Everhart Group's investment wasn't going to LY today.

She had already set things up; the Everhart Group's people would definitely invest in her.

"LY's plan is very thoughtful; I'm interested," Avery said, clapping with satisfaction.

"Are you boosting others' morale while undermining your own?" Deborah gritted her teeth and said to Avery. "You're the CEO of the Hawthorne Group; how can you speak for others?"

"Others?" Avery smirked. "I'm engaged to the Cunningham family; she's my sister. If I don't help my sister, should I help you? You're the outsider."

Deborah's face darkened. If Avery really married into the Cunningham family, the position of CEO of the Hawthorne Group would be even more challenging.

"I thought you wouldn't be the type to compromise for benefits," Deborah said through gritted teeth.

She thought Avery was above such things, but she chose to marry for benefits.

Deborah originally wanted to snatch Ethan from Jasmine, as there was no one more powerful than Ethan in San Francisco. But unfortunately, Ethan had an accident, and his life or death was unknown.

She now urgently needed to elevate her status, which meant marrying better than Avery.

Or, before Avery married into the Cunningham family, she could discuss a partnership with Nolan.

A mutually beneficial marriage.

In any case, Deborah would never let Avery easily marry into the Cunningham family.

"Look at you, I'm just an ordinary person. If you disgust me any further, I might hit you," Avery said with a smile, ensuring no one could see any impoliteness.

Deborah suppressed her anger and turned to look at Jasmine.

"At LY, we not only have future automotive development plans but also for solar, wind, and tidal energy. Please take a look," Jasmine said, switching to another PPT.

"This is the direction I represent for the Douglas Group in the new energy development field."

Jasmine explained and introduced each point.

The audience was instantly shocked, and everyone started buzzing.

"How is this plan so similar to the Hawthorne Group's? Is LY plagiarizing?"

"Yeah, I've heard Jasmine has done this before. I think she copied the Hawthorne Group's plan."

"Definitely plagiarism. This plan is 80% similar to the Hawthorne Group's."

The audience was abuzz, all accusing Jasmine of plagiarism.

Deborah was momentarily surprised, then smirked, thinking Jasmine had gotten smarter.

But it turned out she was not only not smart but incredibly foolish.

"Jasmine, you represent the Douglas Group, yet you present a plan almost identical to the Hawthorne Group's. Where do you think your advantage lies?" a senior executive from the Everhart Group's investment department asked sternly.

He was clearly unhappy.
