Chapter 86 Daniel Tormented Jasmine again
Still seated in the dressing room, Richard scratched his head irritably.
Those bastards!
With a gloomy face, he walked out and glanced at Erin sitting in the Courtyard. He hesitated for a long time, and in the end, decided against it.
"Richard."
But Erin called out to Richard on her own.
Richard pretended not to hear her and awkwardly tried to walk away.
"Richard, Miss Erin is calling you." Some other servants called out to Richard.
Richard took a deep breath, turned around, and walked up to Erin. "Miss Erin, you called for me."
"You’re working overtime tonight, and you’ll get an extra thirty thousand. How about it?" Erin clearly wanted to hassle Richard; it seemed like she really wanted to tease him.
Yesterday, Richard stood guard all night.
Other bodyguards also noticed that Miss Erin had been targeting Richard all along; they were even feeling a bit sorry for him. "Miss Erin, Richard hasn't taken a break in three days now. This can't go on."
She had enough money to hire more bodyguards if she wanted to, so why was she so fixed on Richard?
What was Miss Erin up to?
Did Richard offend her in some way?
"Alright, I'll work overtime." Richard's voice was calm, without any fluctuations. "I don't want money. Miss Erin, I need you to do me a favor."
Erin looked at Richard with interest. He was actually asking for help on his own?
"Go ahead." Erin was very interested.
"My nephew needs to go to school but no school can accept him." Richard lowered his head and clenched his fists.
He wasn't good at asking for help. If it wasn't absolutely necessary, he wouldn't have spoken up.
Erin obviously noticed this aspect of Richard. "Can't afford the tuition?"
Richard shook his head. "No, it's because my family offended the heiress of the Douglas family."
"The Douglas family..." Erin tapped the table lightly with her fingers. "The illegitimate daughter brought in by the mistress, right? Lisa?"
Erin’s expression was filled with disdain; she obviously looked down on Lisa.
Richard looked puzzled. He didn't know about these high society scandals.
"Hmph, she’ll be no trouble." Erin sat up straight, elegantly stretching in a lazy manner. "I can help you. All you have to do is accompany me tonight."
Cough! Cough! Cough!
Nearby, a few bodyguards quickly retreated, pretending not to hear anything.
Richard's face darkened. "Nevermind then, I'm off duty."
After saying that, Richard turned and walked away.
"Richard!" Erin slammed the table in anger.
Richard pretended not to hear her; it was like he didn’t even care that he might get fired.
Erin was now very angry. Richard really did just walk away.
"Find out about the best preschools in Silverlight City. Say it's for my nephew and deal with whoever tries to stop it." Erin's slender fingers picked up a cigarette from the side table. She then asked the butler to light it for her.
The butler nodded. "Yes, Miss Erin."
...
Auto Repair Shop.
"You guys better move out. If you can't pay, just get out."
The landlord was here to evict them again.
"We still have a month left on the lease; we haven't decided yet..." Jasmine spoke softly; she seemed scared.
"A month? You're supposed to pay three months in advance, don't you know that?!" The landlord was very rude, clearly intending to kick out Jasmine and her family.
Jasmine hesitated for a long time before speaking up with her head down. "We... won't rent this place anymore."
"You won’t rent anymore?" The landlord's voice sharpened. "If you're leaving, then why are you still lingering here? Grab your stuff and get out!"
After he finished speaking, he seemed intent on going inside to throw things at Jasmine.
"We still have a month." Jasmine protected Justin as she stepped back.
"A month? You need to move out three months in advance."
Jasmine's eyes turned red; she wanted to fight back but felt powerless.
Someone from the Wilson family or the Douglas family definitely told the landlord to intentionally make things difficult for her.
So even if she fought for her rights, it wouldn't work.
"Jasmine, your brother has been renting from me for five or six years now. He’s a good tenant and I might reconsider. Hmmmm, how much do you charge per night?" The landlord began smoking as he squinted and smiled at Jasmine.
Jasmine's face turned pale, and she clenched her hands into tight fists. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't pretend, do you really think I don't know? Ask around here, who doesn't know you're working as a prostitute. Spend a night with me, and I'll deduct it from your rent. Sound good?" The landlord approached Jasmine with a smile, reaching out and touching her inappropriately.
"Ah!" The landlord let out a cry of pain as Justin hit his foot with a pair of pliers.
"You little bastard." The landlord tried to hit Justin.
Jasmine pushed the landlord away forcefully, then picked up Justin and ran outside.
"Acting like a saint while still playing the harlot, huh?!" The landlord grabbed Jasmine's hair and threw her to the ground.
"Mom..." Justin hugged Jasmine in fear.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Luckily, Richard arrived in time and kicked the landlord out with one swift kick.
The landlord knew Richard was tough, so when he saw him, he got scared and ran off while pulling up his pants.
"Richard..." Jasmine was huddled in the corner, her voice trembling in fear, "Let's go, let's not stay here."
Richard quickly picked up Justin and went to comfort Jasmine. "Okay, I'll find a place tomorrow."
Jasmine looked up at Richard and began uncontrollably shedding tears.
Why did they have to endure all this?
Why did everyone treat them with such malice?
"Jasmine..."
Seeing that Jasmine was not feeling well, Richard put down Justin and spoke in a panic, "Go get the medicine."
Justin rushed into the room to get the heart medication.
"Jasmine, take a deep breath." Richard patted Jasmine's back, still evidently panicking. "Listen to me, take a deep breath."
Jasmine took a deep breath; she was in so much pain that her lips turned white.
"It's okay; it's okay." Justin brought the medicine, and Richard made Jasmine take it.
After a long while, Jasmine lowered her head, curled up her legs, and started crying.
She didn't know why she still felt so sad.
Clearly, this was the life she was supposed to have.
"Jasmine!"
Outside the gate, Daniel's voice rang out.
Jasmine, just coming to her senses, heard Daniel's voice and quickly retreated to a corner in fear. "Richard..."
Daniel had found them.
Richard, with nowhere to vent his anger, muttered curses under his breath at these bastards.
After pushing Justin inside and locking the door, Richard picked up an iron rod from the floor, eyeing Daniel as he walked towards the door. "What do you want now?"
Daniel's gaze fell on Jasmine cowering in the corner, "Come out."
Jasmine hugged herself tightly, feeling too scared to move.
"Daniel! Don't push it too far." Richard stood protectively in front of Jasmine.
Inside, Justin's cries could be heard, along with the pounding on the door.
He was scared.
Scared that this villain might harm his mommy.
"And what if I do?" Daniel sneered, signaling his bodyguards to stop Richard as he advanced towards Jasmine step by step.
Richard landed a punch on one of the bodyguards' faces, realizing they were no match for him.
"You bastard!" Richard grabbed Daniel by the collar and landed a hard punch on his face.
Daniel retaliated with a punch of his own, but he was clearly no match for Richard in a fight.
"Are you all useless?" Daniel cursed under his breath.
The bodyguards swarmed, pinning Richard to the ground.
After wiping the blood from his mouth, Daniel winced and approached Jasmine, grabbing her by the hair and pulling her towards the door. "I heard my brother helped you with the little bastard's schooling issue."
"You son of a bitch! Let go of my sister!" Richard struggled with all his might.
Daniel, with dark eyes, stared at Richard. "Last time, I intended to make you lose function in your hand. Didn't expect you to be so tough. This time, I might just chop it off. Think you can put it back on?"
