Chapter 180 Ethan’s Troublesome Cousin Connor

"Connor?" Ethan's voice was deep and somber.

"The younger heir of Blue Business Travel, Connor," Liam clarified the man's identity.

"Has Blue Business Travel been having financial troubles lately?" Ethan scoffed coldly.

It seemed like they all took him as a fool.

"Yes, their cash flow stopped, several operations closed down nationally, and they're facing legal issues." Liam sounded irritated. "I can't figure out how many people Jasmine has managed to upset. I'll send him away."

There was a clamor on the other end of the line, the man named Connor demanding to see Jasmine and Ethan.

"Mr. Ethan, he insists on seeing you and won't leave until he does," Liam whispered.

"See me?" Ethan's voice was deep and edged. "He's not even on my radar."

"Why not have Jasmine deal with it then? If Justin's dad is really Connor, she'd better send the guy packing quick." Liam seemed to think Jasmine was blind to not see if Justin's dad was really Henry, and now here comes Connor.

Connor was notorious in social circles as a womanizing playboy, previously part of a crowd that bullied Jasmine. There was no way she could have been involved with him.

"Have you lost your mind?" Ethan glanced at the time.

The only way Connor would see Jasmine would be in his dreams.

"No, it's not that..." Liam finally caught on. "Mr. Ethan, I didn't mean that, it's just Jasmine seems to attract the wrong crowd. I'm thinking of taking her to a shaman over the weekend, maybe get a talisman to invite some good romance."

"Isn’t Tom classmates with Connor?" Ethan suddenly remembered his trouble-making cousin.

"Yes, yes, yes, he's been chasing Jasmine for years." Liam was an idiot.

Ethan's face grew darker.

"Stir up some trouble, let Tom handle it." Ethan ended the call abruptly.

If Liam couldn’t deal with such a small issue, he might as well take a break.

Inside the car, Jasmine watched Ethan on the phone by the roadside, sensing his mood was off.

Something must have happened.

"Mr. Ethan... is there a problem?" Jasmine asked nervously.

"It's nothing, just company stuff. Liam’s being an idiot." Ethan leaned against the car door, smiling as he ruffled Jasmine's hair.

His demeanor changed in a heartbeat, showering her with all his favor and tenderness.

Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief. "Mr. Ethan, in this short time, Branson has called me over a dozen times; I think he's starting to panic."

"Just block him, don't bother with it. You've done your part; your superior can take it from here." Ethan didn't tell Jasmine about Connor causing a scene at the company. She didn't need to know.

Trash like that was his to deal with.

...

"Mr. Chen, making a ruckus in our office isn't very dignified, is it?" Liam frowned as he spoke.

"I said I want to see Ethan or Jasmine. What's this attitude? Am I not good enough?" Connor snorted, reclining like he owned the place.

The receptionist poured him coffee, which he didn't touch.

"Here's the deal, you know Tom, right? I heard you guys went to school together. He just called me up and said you're nothing but a deadbeat, claiming you've never even interacted with Jasmine, calling you a fraud," Liam said with a grin.

"Who?" Connor's face was flush with anger. "Tom?"

Liam nodded still smiling.

"What the hell is Tom to talk? Just because he couldn't get Jasmine, he's calling others deadbeats? When he first set his eyes on Jasmine, he was worse than a deadbeat; he was nothing but a lapdog, always trailing after her like a lost puppy. And how did that turn out? Jasmine wouldn't give him the time of day, and in the end, she ended up with me,” Connor scoffed, mocking Tom for having been Jasmine’s lapdog.

Back in school, Jasmine was the it girl, with countless guys chasing her and just as many crushing on her from the shadows.

Tom was the most shameless of all Jasmine’s lapdogs.

Daniel was the only one who managed to win her over.

Jordan, a coward since childhood, only dared to admire her from afar, expressing his affections silently, never boldly.

"Tom used to be a lapdog?" Liam asked, still chuckling.

"Pfft, more than that. He'd be the only one whooping it up during Jasmine's performances, leading anyone who didn’t know better to think she was his girl. To get into the same college as Jasmine, he suddenly got his act together, studying till dawn without a wink of sleep," Connor mocked Tom with disdain.

"He's the only one who would stoop to fighting over Jasmine, claiming others are deadbeats. Ha, it's just jealousy because Jasmine chose me over him," Connor boasted proudly.

Liam, professional smile intact, turned off his phone camera and sent the video to Tom with the caption. [Connor’s calling you Jasmine's lapdog and saying she's his girl now, talking trash about you.]

Tom watched the video and replied, [?]

Liam sent another message. [Just a friendly heads-up, Jasmine's been getting cozy with Mr. Ethan lately, and if your cousin finds out about Connor causing trouble at the company, you might get dragged into this mess.]

Tom responded with a shocked exclamation.

He was still in hot water at home thanks to Serena's slander, with his parents giving him the cold shoulder.

Now, Connor looking for trouble, messing with Ethan at G Corp.

After a while, Tom shot back, "I'll be there in twenty minutes. He better still be there waiting for me! Damn it, anyone looking to bite the dust better steer clear of me. I’m already dealing with enough backstabbers this year!"

Tom stormed toward Stellar Enterprises, his fury tangible.

Liam rather enjoyed Tom's short fuse. It was clear that Mr. Ethan was exploiting his gullible cousin.

After hanging up his phone, Liam addressed Connor with utmost politeness. "Mr. Chen, I advise against discussing personal matters at the office. It would be wise to handle your situation with Miss Jasmine in private, don't you think?"

"Your words won't change a thing. Jasmine works here, right?" Connor tapped on the desk.

Liam nodded courteously. "Yes, she does."

"Then, I'm not leaving. I have to see her today."

"I'm sorry, but the office is closed for the day."

Liam sighed with pity for Connor.

The office was going to buzz with activity once Tom arrived.

Connor snorted. "She's done working? Call her back. I'm tired of these antics."

Liam's grin didn't reach his eyes. "Then, please wait here, she'll be back shortly."

Liam stood up and spoke with the security guard in advance—once everyone left, to keep outsiders away.

A quiet lockdown—the perfect stage for Tom to unleash his temper.

"Liam, listen, I need to see Jasmine today. Do you understand abandonment? Do you know how much money and effort I've spent on her? Now, she's cozying up to Mr. Ethan and thinks she can dump me? Not a chance."

Connor continued to tarnish Jasmine's reputation.

Just as he finished speaking, Tom floored the gas pedal and parked at the company entrance, storming in with a combustible temper.

Liam watched with a forced smile, signaling the guard to tighten security and keep onlookers away.

As the area was cleared, a fight broke out.

Tom, with his athletic background and a notorious temper since childhood, was now boiling over with rage, especially under the persistent pressure from his family to marry.

Liam stood aside, watching calmly and ready to dial 911, knowing exactly when to intervene.
