Chapter 381 Annabelle Was about to Ruin her Reputation
To be honest, growing up, Annabelle had never been taken so seriously by anyone before.
Connor was really a high-end target. He knew how to make women happy and understood what women liked.
Through the frosted glass of the bathroom, she could see a man inside taking a shower. He was tall, his figure faintly visible in the mist, causing hormones to surge and breath to feel a bit hot.
The outline of muscles could be vaguely seen, making Annabelle feel a burning sensation in her throat.
With a light laugh, Annabelle took off all her outer clothes in advance and wore only the sexy lingerie set inside. She looked exceptionally seductive and enchanting under the candlelight and red roses.
The lights in the bathroom went out.
The man inside came out wrapped in a towel.
The room was dim, with only a flicker of candlelight.
Annabelle couldn't see the man's face clearly. However, his well-defined mermaid lines neatly arranged abs and chest muscles, and the water droplets glistening on his body, all because of the towel draped over his wet hair, were clearly visible.
"I didn't expect you to be so romantic." Annabelle chuckled lightly, walking barefoot on rose petals towards the man.
Tom dried his hair and took a step back.
Unaware, Annabelle still hugged Tom from behind. "What do you think this is? A secret affair?"
Tom didn't say anything, just roughly dried his hair.
That bastard Connor didn't say anything either, testing Tom's pure heart with such a thing.
A knock came from outside the door.
Tom breathed a sigh of relief; this was the signal between him and Connor!
"Sir, the red wine is ready." the voice of the waiter came from outside.
Annabelle laughed. "Red wine?"
Tom said yes and went to open the door.
Annabelle felt something was off in the voice but didn't dwell on it, given the short time available.
As soon as Tom opened the door, the reporters swarmed in.
The room lit up, petals scattered on the floor, a romantic scene, and Annabelle's sexy figure, Tom, wrapped in a towel, all captured clearly by the reporters.
Tom was smart; he covered his face with the towel, not daring to reveal his identity.
Not only that, Tom even posed deliberately to make his own figure look a bit more handsome.
Annabelle screamed in shock, wanting to hide.
But it was too late; the reporters had already taken their shots.
"Mrs. Douglas, you're a Cunningham by birth, a Douglas by marriage to Daniel, and now you're caught sneaking around for a secret rendezvous. What's your side of the story? " reporters bombarded her.
"Mrs. Douglas, how do you feel right now?"
Annabelle was terrified, shouting in fear, wanting to hide, only to find there were no blankets on the bed.
This indicated that Connor had come prepared.
"What's going on? Say something," Annabelle yelled at 'Connor.'
Tom turned to look at Annabelle. "How would I know what's going on? You brought reporters to the door; you're so unkind!"
Taking off the towel, Tom rolled his eyes, picked up his clothes, and ran off.
Tom, being a man, wasn't afraid of anything.
Annabelle was different. She hastily put on her clothes and stared at Tom in shock. "Who are you?"
Tom ignored Annabelle, fearing he would become too famous and get scolded by his mom when he got home.
Outside, hearing Annabelle's screams and reporters' frantic questioning, Connor coldly pushed up his glasses, smirked, and left.
Annabelle deserved it.
Six years later, it was time for Connor to let Annabelle taste the consequences of her actions.
This was the real way to deal with someone as malicious as Annabelle.
Six years ago, plotting to get Ethan drunk, sneaking into Ethan's room ahead of time, ready for reporters to rush in and create a scandal, wanting to force Ethan to marry Annabelle through public opinion, that person was Annabelle.
At the party six years ago, Connor accidentally overheard Annabelle and Ethan's entourage planning how to set up Ethan. When Connor hurried back to the party, it was already too late; Ethan had already drunk the spiked drink.
With no other choice, Connor deliberately pressed the wrong elevator floor, leaving Ethan in the hallway, planning to go back and deal with Annabelle before taking him away.
But when Connor had someone take Annabelle away and went back to find Ethan, he couldn't locate him.
After searching for a while, Connor couldn't find him and had to check the surveillance footage. In the footage, he saw Ethan entering a wrong room, entering someone else's room.
At that time, Connor only wanted to protect Ethan's reputation, fearing the hotel staff would make a big deal out of it, so he had the surveillance footage deleted and went up to find Ethan.
When Connor reached the door of the room, Ethan happened to come out.
Ethan had a dark expression on his face as if someone owed him a lot of money.
"You..." Connor wanted to know what had happened to Ethan.
But Ethan didn't say a word, gloomily entering the elevator.
Connor followed, and on Ethan's neck, he found several scratch marks, obviously made by a woman.
That room...
Connor felt a bit scared; he called Liam to clean up the mess, take Ethan to the hospital for a thorough check-up, including taking antidotes.
At that time, Connor didn't expect that Ethan's unconscious entry into the wrong room would inadvertently harm another woman.
Connor had always believed in karma.
When he first met Jasmine in prison, Connor didn't know that Jasmine was the woman Ethan had harmed in the past.
It was only through their interactions that Connor gradually became interested in Jasmine.
He wanted to save Jasmine and to heal her, which required a deeper understanding of her inner self.
At that moment, when Jasmine opened up to Connor, he truly understood.
There were so many things, like the butterfly effect; a butterfly flapped its wings, causing a tsunami.
Because of Connor's unconscious actions, in a time when no one else knew, Jasmine suffered, living in pain and hell for six whole years.
Despite Connor's attempts to lend a hand, Jasmine stubbornly refused his assistance. Over the five years of treating Jasmine, Connor tried many different methods, including the last resort of MECT therapy.
But nothing worked.
Jasmine couldn't truly escape the darkness, and Connor couldn't truly redeem himself.
Since Ethan was at the root of the problem, Connor tried to find a way to return Jasmine to the place where her demons dwelled.
Connor staged a play, allowing Jasmine to 'avenge' him, and got close to Ethan in this way.
Connor wasn't sure if Jasmine and Ethan could truly redeem each other; he even thought that Jasmine might bully Ethan a bit, which could help her open up.
But he didn't expect them to develop in a direction neither of he had anticipated.
Everything turned out far more perfectly than Connor had imagined.
Jasmine was slowly healing, her beautiful wings gradually unfolding.
Jasmine was by Ethan's side, growing slowly.
Soon, Jasmine would shine brightly once again.
The Cunningham family.
Seeing the news online, Cordelia sarcastically chuckled. "This Annabelle really doesn't cherish her own reputation. She's about to sign a contract and get shares tomorrow; why would she do something so foolish?"
Edward raised an eyebrow. "Why do I feel like she has fallen into someone else's trap? Someone is helping Jasmine."
"Have you called Jasmine? Have you asked her to be at the Bellagio Hotel at eleven tomorrow?" Cordelia asked,
" Reporters are all set, too. Tomorrow is the day Jasmine returns to the Cunningham family!" Edward nodded.
Tomorrow would not only reveal Jasmine's identity but also serve as her chance to reclaim all shares from William!
