Chapter 757 Tom's Parents Died in a Car Accident
Malcolm's face darkened even more. He cursed in the group chat and then turned and left.
Abigail didn't have time to curse Betty and anxiously followed him.
Betty sneered. "Crazy."
Richard smiled helplessly yet indulgently. "We're all family. Exposing in the group chat just makes it a spectacle."
"I think it's not lively enough. We can't be too kind, the kind gets bullied easily, like you." Betty glanced at Richard. "We're facing a very tough boss right now."
Richard knew Betty was referring to Steven.
"Before fighting the boss, shouldn't we deal with the elite monsters? These people are just bored." Betty said in a deep voice.
They had nothing better to do, living too comfortably, and meddling in other people's affairs.
Richard looked down and smiled, holding Betty's hand tightly.
Richard hadn't expected Betty would stand with him, on the same front, treating Steven as the enemy.
"I thought..." Richard said softly, thinking Betty still had feelings for Steven.
Betty rolled her eyes at Richard.
Not far away, Steven watched Betty and Richard with dark eyes. The two were chatting like an ordinary couple, which really touched his bottom line. Putting down his wine glass, Steven looked at Marley beside him. "Contact LY. I'm in Silverlight City and need a bodyguard. We'll offer a high price for cooperation and let the word out. I want Richard to come personally."
LY was still in its early stages. If Richard refused to cooperate, Steven would make a big fuss in Silverlight City, and Richard knew very well how much that would affect LY.
If Richard had the guts to come to him, Steven might look at him differently.
With a cold laugh, Steven put down his wine glass and left.
How boring.
He had been through so much, hiding for so many years, and had seen many women, but none were as interesting as Betty.
He loved Betty, but in the past, he couldn't protect her, so he had no choice.
But now he had the ability to give Betty the life she wanted, yet she didn't wait for him.
After Steven left, Betty continued to wander around with Richard, introducing him.
However, not many people were willing to talk to him.
After all, compared to the head of the Hughes family, a bodyguard was far inferior.
But today, Richard seemed very calm. No matter how those people insulted him, he remained indifferent.
"Don't care it," Betty whispered to comfort him.
"It doesn't matter, they're just sycophants," Richard nodded.
"Exactly. If they knew you were actually Arnold's son..." Betty paused. She knew Richard resisted Arnold and would never return to the Sanders family to inherit Arnold's estate.
Betty had never thought of forcing Richard to make any decisions. They were fine as they were.
"We're fine as we are." Betty held Richard's hand tightly. "Let's go home."
Bellagio Hotel.
Lisa sat by the window, looking outside. Her phone kept ringing, but she didn't answer.
It was an international call.
Lisa knew it was probably Mark, but she couldn't be hasty now.
When Mark called again, she finally answered.
"Hello?" Lisa's voice was hoarse and choked, clearly having cried.
Mark still cared about Lisa, there was no doubt about that. He also knew that after he left, Lisa's life in Silverlight City must have been tough.
He was trying to bring Lisa and her child over.
"Lisa, it's me, yout Dad," Mark said nervously, knowing Lisa wouldn't acknowledge him.
"I don't have a dad!" Lisa said and hung up the phone.
She looked at her phone, biting her finger, waiting for Mark to call again.
When Mark called again, she blocked the number.
She needs to dispel Mark's concerns, find out where Mark is hiding and understand his current situation.
She needed Mark to trust her and take her over.
Mark wouldn't give up easily, he would definitely come back. She didn't want Mark to hurt anyone around her again.
She had to plan for Casey.
She decides to sacrifice herself to give Casey a bright future.
Mark changed his number and called again. "Lisa."
"What do you want? Haven't you hurt me enough? You ran away, and now Jordan wants a divorce! He wants to fight for custody of Casey. I have nothing now. Are you satisfied?" Lisa vented, crying and shouting at Mark.
Mark felt a bit guilty and spoke softly. "Lisa, Dad is safe now. I want to bring you over. I know I wronged you. After you win the divorce case with Jordan, come find me, okay?"
Lisa sneered. "Are you dreaming? You're a fugitive. What kind of life can you give me and Casey? I won't bring Casey to find you! Take care of yourself and don't contact me again."
"Lisa!" Mark panicked. "Lisa, I know I made many mistakes. But trust me, I have the ability to make a comeback and give you and Casey the best life. If things get really bad, call me. This number is only for you."
Mark was still very cautious. He didn't directly tell Lisa where he was or who saved him.
Lisa couldn't ask now. She needed to get to Mark's side first.
So, she had to win the divorce case. She had to fight for what belonged to Casey.
Casey couldn't stay with someone as indecisive as Jordan. Casey would be led astray by them.
"I won't look for you. Give up on that." Lisa hung up the phone and leaned against the glass.
Everything now felt like a dream.
She had come out of the slums, suddenly became the daughter of the Douglas family, and then turned from someone everyone fawned over to a pariah.
Life really was like a dream.
Ethan's place.
It's finally time for Jasmine to come home, Ethan had the house set up very warmly.
This nearly thousand-square-foot luxury apartment was decorated in the style Jasmine liked, which was warm, simple, and clean.
The room was filled with roses and lisianthus, all of Jasmine's favorites.
Tom and Connor had been waiting at home, ready to welcome Jasmine and Ellie back.
"Where's the little princess?" But only Jasmine and Ethan came back.
"There are too many uncles willing to take care of her, so we decided to have some alone time." Ethan held Jasmine with one arm, raising an eyebrow at Connor and Tom. "If you two like kids, go have one."
Tom scratched his head and looked at Connor. "Men can have kids now? Are you having one or am I?"
"Crazy." Connor looked at Tom like he was an idiot.
Tom then realized. "Find a wife to have one? My parents suddenly went on a world tour and don't care about me. I'm not getting married so early."
Tom proudly pointed to the dining table. "Come and try my cooking."
Just as Tom was showing off his cooking skills, Ethan received a call. "Ethan, Juniper and Desmond had an incident in Silvershore. It was probably Mark's people seeking revenge."
