Chapter 759 Richard Becomes Steven's Bodyguard
Betty was furious. "Steven, I don't care if it was you or not. If you dare to harm my daughter, I will kill you."
Steven's face was dark, and his voice grew even deeper. "Betty, am I really the kind of person who would stop at nothing to achieve my goals?"
Betty tightened her grip on the phone. "What else? In Silverlight City, no one but you would dare to harm my daughter!"
"You have no idea who your enemies are." Steven hung up the phone abruptly.
Betty, enraged, threw her phone. How dare he hang up on her?
Richard was meticulously checking every piece of Indigo's clothing, making sure there were no needles or anything else harmful before he finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Let's replace all these clothes. I am worried."
Betty nodded.
"Geena, from now on, make sure to thoroughly check all of Indigo's things. For custom-made items, only go to people we know well." Betty said to the nanny.
Geena nodded quickly, her face full of worry. "Mrs. Willer, it's hard to guard against this. Who did we offend?"
Betty rubbed her temples. "Forget it."
Indigo couldn't stay at home anymore.
She had to send Indigo to Jasmine's place. "Richard, go get the car. We're taking Indigo to the Cunningham family."
Right now, the Cunningham family was the only place where Indigo would be safe.
Fortunately, Cordelia loved children, and the Cunningham family had the most professional nannies and childcare experts. Indigo could grow up with Ellie.
Richard nodded and went to get the car.
They took Indigo to the Cunningham family that very night.
The Cunningham family.
Jasmine was sitting on the couch holding Ellie. Ethan and Tom had gone to Silvershore and wouldn't be back for a few days.
"Jasmine." Betty arrived, and Jasmine stood up in surprise. "Why are you here so late?"
"Someone tried to harm Indigo. She's not safe with us. I need to leave her with you for a while." Betty was worried.
She didn't know what crazy things Steven might do, and she was starting to get scared.
"Don't be afraid." Richard held Betty's hand.
Betty didn't say anything, just looked down at Indigo.
Jasmine was also worried. "I heard Steven is back."
Betty nodded.
"Steven is the head of the Hughes family. I've looked into the Hughes family, they're not easy to deal with. Leave Indigo with me, and don't worry." Jasmine took Indigo and spoke again. "The situation remains unfavorable lately, you all must be careful."
Betty nodded.
She really should go find Steven.
Bellagio Hotel.
Steven had just finished breakfast when someone kicked the door open.
Marley went to open the door, only to be pushed aside by Betty.
"Steven." Betty sat across from Steven and slapped a document on the table. "I'm giving everything from the Hughes family back to you. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other."
Steven calmly wiped his hands and looked at Betty. "Betty, you seem to be forgetting The ball is in my court now, not yours."
Betty clenched her fists. "Steven, you're not the kind of person who cares about love. Aren't you all about power? Are you sure you want to offend the entire Silverlight City business circle because of me?"
Betty gritted her teeth and threatened Steven.
"I indeed don't prioritize love, but that was before I met you. Besides, you are my wife, my possession. Even if I die, you are still my inheritance. I won't allow you to remarry, you should know that very well." Steven sneered.
When Betty married Richard, the Hughes family had indeed tried to stop it in every way possible, but Betty had always done things her own way and didn't care about them at all.
"Betty, you are my woman, and only mine." Steven spoke again. "By the way, I signed a personal bodyguard contract with LY. I requested Richard to be my personal bodyguard."
Betty was stunned and stood up abruptly. "Dream out!"
Richard would never come.
"I've already informed the media. If Richard doesn't take the job, what LY's reputation in Silverlight City will be? After that, who would hire LY for security?" Steven said with a smile.
Betty's hands were shaking with anger, and she slapped Steven. "You bastard."
Steven caught her wrist as she raised her hand again. "You betrayed me first. You know that those who betray should be punished."
"Steven, you have no shortage of women. There's no need to tear us apart." Betty gritted her teeth. "I'm not afraid of anything. At worst, we'll both go down together."
"Then we'll die together." Steven laughed, trapping Betty against the wall. "I regret most is not taking you with me back then. We should have died together so you wouldn't betray me."
"Dream out. I wouldn't die with you even if I had to." Betty kneed Steven in the stomach.
Steven, who was quite skilled, tried to block but still took a solid punch from Betty.
Marley wanted to step forward but was stopped by Steven's cold gaze.
Betty hit Steven, but he didn't fight back.
He let her hit him, but he would defend himself.
"Betty, someone like Richard is not suitable for you." Steven lost his patience and pinned Betty against the wall. "What can he give you? Even if LY reaches the top, he's still just a bodyguard."
In Steven's opinion, the old Betty was so proud. She wouldn't willingly marry a bodyguard, a poor guy.
"Steven, you're so arrogant. Even if Richard had nothing, I would still choose him over you." Betty looked at Steven. "Someone like you doesn't understand what love is."
Steven was furious, releasing Betty and wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. "Fine, let's wait and see. I want to see what exactly makes Richard worth your love!"
As Betty was leaving, Richard and Ryder were coming over.
For the sake of LY's reputation, Richard had to come, or it would make it seem like he was afraid.
Betty reached out to stop Richard. "Go back. We're not taking this job."
It could be a death sentence being Steven's bodyguard
Richard held Betty's hand and kissed her forehead in front of Steven. "Wait for me at home."
Betty gripped Richard's hand tightly. "You'll die."
Steven was a madman.
Richard reassured her softly. "I'll handle it."
Betty took a deep breath and looked back at Steven.
If anything happened to Richard, she would kill Steven.
Steven sat on the couch, sneering at Betty.
"I'll make you see that Richard is not worthy of you." He said meaningfully.
Betty knew what Steven was trying to do.
He knew Richard was insecure and would make sure Richard backed off.
"Betty, this way, please." Marley gestured for Betty to leave.
Richard gave Betty a reassuring look. "In Silverlight City, he wouldn't dare to kill me."
Betty gritted her teeth and had to leave for now.
