Chapter 770 Justin is an Angel, Joe is a Demon

Edgar and Cordelia taught Joe that boys should be independent and strong. Regardless of their background, they were first and foremost themselves, and only secondly someone to others.

So, as long as they didn't abandon themselves, they would always be themselves.

Casey didn't like Joe, after all, the truth was often hard to hear.

Casey hid behind Justin, glaring fiercely at Joe. "Justin won't abandon me."

Joe snorted, continued lying down, and warned, "No one will abandon you. Hurry up and go to bed. Only girls cry!"

"I'm not a girl!" Casey retorted angrily, standing up with hands on hips.

Seeing Casey stop crying, Joe secretly smiled but still pretended to be serious. "Go to sleep. Your mom just went on a trip. She will come back any day now and bring you a new dad who will love you very much."

Casey lunged at Joe, trying to bite him, but Joe pinned him down and spanked him.

Casey started crying again.

To Casey, Joe was a demon, and Justin was an angel.

Casey crawled into Justin's bed, crying. "Justin, Joe bullied me. Help me beat him up."

Justin could only comfort him helplessly. "He's a bad guy."

Unable to win a fight, all Casey could do was cry. So pathetic.

"Joe is bad, and Justin is kind." Casey slowly fell asleep.

Silverwood

Richard actually followed Steven abroad.

However, Richard was calm, while Steven was panicking.

Gritting his teeth and looking at the ever-vigilant Richard, Steven thought Richard was crazy.

Recalling the look Betty gave him when they boarded the plane, Steven knew that if Richard died, he would be completely defeated.

"Are you out of your mind?" Steven cursed at Richard irritably.

Richard didn't know what had gotten into Steven again and replied calmly, "I'm perfectly healthy."

Steven sneered. "You brought this on yourself! Since you want to die, it's got nothing to do with me!"

Steven cursed again.

This was Richard's own doing.

Richard said nothing, staying by Steven's side.

"The person we're about to meet is an important contact for Kavi Hughes here. I advise you..." Steven frowned, surprisingly trying to dissuade Richard from going.

Richard remained by Steven's side.

Steven frowned. "You're not a cop, are you?"

Although he was currently cooperating with the police, Richard...

Richard looked Steven up and down. "I'm your bodyguard, responsible for your safety."

Steven said nothing, frowning as he entered a community.

This place used to be Kavi's domain, a hub for the dark web, scams, and illegal drugs. Steven had initially wanted to transform this area into an agricultural zone, completely changing its bad industries, which had led to attempts on his life.

Now, most of the area had been taken over by Steven, except for Aurora Peninsula, Kavi's original stronghold.

Since they had a vast underground network, and without police cooperation to take them down, it would be like trying to stamp out a wildfire.

Richard agreed to his comrade's plan, risking this endeavor not only to protect Steven but also to capture Dev, who, under Kavi's orders, kidnapped Betty and tortured her for a year.

He wanted to end Betty's nightmare himself, by bring Dev to justice.

As soon as they entered Greendale, someone with a gun came forward to check them. "Hands up, turn around!"

Richard frowned, stepping forward cautiously.

Asha also stepped forward to protect Steven.

Dev, smoking marijuana, smiled and said, "Mr. Hughes, sorry, but these are our rules."

"Dev, Your rules are really piling up," Steven said sarcastically.

Richard suddenly looked up, his gaze dark and menacing as he stared at Dev. This man was Dev.

Sensing Richard's gaze, Dev squinted and pointed his gun at Richard. "Who's this?"

"My bodyguard," Steven said coldly.

"Hands up," Dev ordered Richard.

Richard complied.

Dev threw the knife hidden on Richard to the ground.

After searching them and confirming there was no threat, they were allowed to pass.

Steven led Richard and Asha into a bamboo house, where a man as fat as a pig was holding several women.

This was also the police's top wanted criminal.

Originally from Boston, he had fled here.

He was Kavi's last sharp blade, named Raj, Dev's older brother.

"Steven, long time no see," Raj said with a smile, inviting Steven to sit down.

Steven and Raj was discussing plans to developing agriculture, tourism, and agricultural products to boost the local economy, but the conversation ended badly.

Raj didn't want to do it.

Steven knew they couldn't reach an agreement because Raj's sidealready had murderous intentions.

Especially Dev, who had already aimed his gun at Steven.

Richard frowned, stepping forward to shield Steven, grabbing Dev's gun, his eyes filled with anger.

Dev squinted, trying to pull the trigger, but Raj stopped him. "When it comes to business, it's no big deal if we don't end up working together, but we must not damage our cordial relations."

Steven snorted coldly, getting up and leaving with Richard and Asha.

As soon as Richard left, Mark came out from the back room, looking serious. "That bodyguard in front is named Richard."

Dev immediately became alert. "Is he a cop? I'll kill him right now."

Mark waved his hand. "He's not a cop, just someone with a grudge. He's Ethan's wife's brother."

Raj squinted, nodding. "It seems Steven has the support of the Silverlight City business circle."

"The head means we must kill Steven," Mark said seriously.

"On our turf, he won't leave alive," Raj said coldly, glancing at Mark. "But is your daughter reliable?"

Mark frowned, displeased. "I advise you not to have any ideas about her. Once this is over, I'll take her to Muskow. Anyone who dares to touch my daughter..."

Mark warned Dev with a glare.

Dev smiled maliciously. "I didn't realize Lisa was so beautiful."

Mark pulled out his gun and aimed it at Dev.

Dev raised his hands.

"Enough," Raj said. "Let's get back to business. Steven came this time under the pretense of collaborating, which means he will come a second time. That's when we can lower his guard and then..."

Raj planned to kill Steven.

Outside the house.

Lisa, who had been eavesdropping cautiously, felt her heart race. She turned to escape to a safe place to inform the police.

But as soon as she turned, Dev jumped out of the window.

Hearing a noise, Dev came out and saw Lisa. He smiled and dragged her back inside. "Look who I caught."
