Chapter 718 Daniel is Actually a Member of the Douglas family?
Mark was silent for a moment. "It's not the right time yet. When you're capable of standing on your own, Messiah will see you."
Daniel frowned and spoke again, "But I'm not even part of the Douglas family. How can I compete?"
"You just need to follow orders. Don't worry about anything else," Mark said reassuringly.
Daniel stopped talking; Mark was too cautious and hadn't mentioned Messiah.
The Powell family was in crisis. With Xavier dead, Amara wanted control.
Lily flew to Kerea immediately. Jasmine took Emily, Ben, and Tom, knowing Ethan wouldn't feel at ease without them.
Amara likely collaborated with Messiah. Jasmine had thought Amara would avoid such alliances, but she was willing to do anything for profit.
Mark's confidence stemmed from this. Despite Xavier's death, he believed the Powell family would still cooperate with Daniel. It seemed the cooperation would continue regardless of who took over.
On the plane, Jasmine watched Lily, who was asleep from exhaustion. Since Xavier's death, Lily had been plagued by nightmares. She woke up suddenly, breathing heavily, and looked at Jasmine, who knew she had another nightmare.
A conscience restrains morality, but after a mistake, it became a beast leading to hell. Lily still had a conscience, but it was a double-edged sword.
"Jasmine," she said, breathing heavily, leaning on Jasmine's shoulder.
Jasmine handed Lily a tissue. "We're almost there. Hang in there."
Lily nodded, staring blankly at the tissue in her hand. She could make it through.
When Lily walked into the Powell family conference room, everyone was stunned. Her Kerean was fluent, and she held her ground.
Jasmine and Ben sat on the side, watching as Lily placed her marriage certificate with Xavier and proof of pregnancy on the table. The room was filled with shocked faces and exchanged glances.
Amara remained calm and spoke coldly, "Xavier actually had a wife."
She didn't expect someone to come with Xavier's marriage certificate and proof of pregnancy.
"Whether this child can be born safely is still unknown." Amara sneered. "Without power or background wants to challenge me? Do you really have the guts?"
"Is this the extent of Kerean law?" Jasmine asked in a deep voice.
Amara's gaze finally fell on Jasmine. She squinted her eyes. "Ethan actually stands on this woman's side?"
"Haven't you already collaborated with certain people to support Daniel's rise?" Jasmine questioned with a sneer.
Amara frowned. "So, the Douglas Group wants to stand behind this woman?"
"Her name is Lily. She is Xavier's legal wife, and the child in her womb is Xavier's." Jasmine corrected Amara.
Amara smiled. "In that case, let's see."
Amara was confident that Lily couldn't manage the company well, and how long could she survive in Kerea?
Jasmine also knew that Lily faced great challenges. Ethan and she could only provide backup support, getting the Powell family to recognize her first. But the subsequent matters had to be handled by Lily herself.
Amara threw down her pen and left, and the others followed suit.
Lily looked at Jasmine. "I'll walk the road ahead on my own. Thank you."
She also knew that in the end, she had to rely on herself.
"Take care of yourself." Jasmine nodded.
Lily definitely couldn't return for now.
"Do you need me to stay with you?" Emily offered.
Lily was silent, then nodded. She needed manpower.
Jasmine frowned, worried about leaving Emily behind. Amara wouldn’t let things go easily. But Emily shook her head at Jasmine.
Emily stayed to help Lily and keep an eye on her, in case she was swayed by those behind the scenes. It wasn't impossible if the benefits were tempting enough.
Emily didn’t trust Lily. Jasmine reluctantly agreed but felt uneasy, her eyelids twitching.
"If anything happens, contact me immediately。" Jasmine repeatedly instructed.
Lily and Emily both nodded.
Jasmine not only left Emily with Lily but also left a few bodyguards, all top-notch personal bodyguards.
After arranging everything, Jasmine felt at ease to leave.
Hopefully, Lily wouldn't regret the path she chose today.
Three months later, at the Douglas Group, after Jasmine returned, the company slowly improved under Ethan's leadership.
However, due to heavy losses and delayed project funds, it was tough to pull through the crisis.
"Mr. Douglas, given your relationship with the Cunningham family, can't you discuss with them to help us this time?" someone deliberately asked in the meeting.
Ethan and Jasmine remained silent.
In the view of outsiders, the Cunningham family was already in chaos. Nolan had angered Cordelia, and now Edgar and Edward had taken over the company. Edward and Edgar had a conflict for some unknown reason, and they couldn't even protect themselves, let alone care about the Douglas Group's survival.
"Mr. Douglas, without the Cunningham Group's help."
Jasmine could see that these people were deliberately testing Ethan.
If they really lost the Cunningham family's backing, the people behind the scenes would dare to act.
Seeing Ethan's dark and silent expression, those people knew that Ethan was in trouble.
The Cunningham family couldn't protect him and Jasmine anymore.

"Recently, someone has been buying a large number of Douglas Group shares behind the scenes. The person has been exposed; it's Mark," Ben whispered in Jasmine's ear.
"Mark?" The people behind the scenes let Mark buy these shares first?
Ben added. "He came prepared today."
Mark previously had no real power in the company. Now, with those scattered shares, he had a say in the Douglas Group.
Sure enough, Mark brought Daniel into the conference room, saying that the shares he held were enough to enter the board of directors.
Jasmine and Ethan looked at Mark coldly.
Ethan said, "After all your efforts, what can you achieve? Fake is fake."
Daniel wasn't Howard's son and had no right to inherit.
"Daniel is not part of the Douglas family. What's the point of you doing so much for him?" Jasmine asked Mark coldly.
Mark sat opposite Jasmine and Ethan, "Who said Daniel isn't part of the Douglas family?"
