Chapter 850 Edgar Deserves It

Glowing Lights Bar.

Ever since he started dating Avery, Edgar rarely went out for drinks.

"Edgar, did you have a change of heart today?" His friends were shocked to see Edgar out drinking.

Edgar didn't say a word, just picked up his glass and downed it.

In a bad mood, he didn't want anyone to bother him.

"Edgar, what's going on?" a friend came over and asked.

"Just drink," Edgar said in a low voice.

"Alright," the friend smiled, sitting next to Edgar, feeling a bit uneasy. Edgar seemed a bit scary today.

Just as Edgar was downing drink after drink, a commotion erupted behind him. Someone, drunk, was causing trouble and harassing a beautiful woman at the next table.

The woman was clearly angry and cursed at him, which led to the man starting to hit her.

Edgar, already simmering with anger, saw this scumbag and got up, kicking him. "How could you, as a man, hit a woman?"

The man got angry, and a few others wanted to fight Edgar.

Edgar's friends all gathered around.

Edgar didn't hold back, throwing a punch. "You're the worst kind of person, a coward who doesn't dare to mess with men, so you hit women! If you're so tough, try fighting a man!"

Edgar was a bit drunk, unsteady on his feet, but his punches were still strong.

The girl Edgar protected looked at him, her eyes shining.

The troublemaker was dragged out by the bar's security, and Edgar spat, feeling disgusted. "This scumbag, unlucky to run into me today."

His friends coaxed him. "Yes, you are Mr. Cunningham, the beacon of justice."

Edgar glared at his friend. "Shut up."

Just as Edgar sat down, the woman he saved came over with three other women. "Thank you for helping us."

"I just can't stand scumbags like that," Edgar said, not even looking up, continuing to drink and pour himself more.

"Anyway, thanks to you tonight," the girl said, still shaken. "My name is Lyanna Patel, what's yours?"

Edgar kept drinking. "Edgar Cunningham."

"Do you have a girlfriend?" Lyanna asked.

Edgar barely thought about it. "Yes."

But after saying it, he hesitated.

Did he have a girlfriend?

He wasn't even sure if he did or not.

"That's a shame," Lyanna said, disappointed. "But still, thank you."

Edgar didn't say anything.

His phone was on the table, and he kept wanting to see if Avery would contact him, but she didn't.

Edgar let out a cold laugh, suddenly losing interest.

He stood up, looking at his friends. "You guys keep drinking, tonight's on me, I'm leaving."

Lyanna saw Edgar was unsteady and offered to take him home. "Where do you live? I'll take you."

Edgar waved her off. "No, you girls shouldn't come out drinking alone, make sure you get home safely."

Lyanna smiled at Edgar, thinking he was really handsome.

"Edgar, can I add you on Facebook?" Lyanna asked, hoping maybe he'd break up with his girlfriend.

Edgar waved her off without thinking. "Forget it, my girlfriend is very strict, I'm afraid she'll check my phone."

Edgar rejected Lyanna's advances, walked out of the bar, and leaned against his car, lighting a cigarette.

He hadn't smoked in a long time, rarely did, and Avery didn't like him smoking, so he stopped.

After a couple of tries with the lighter, Edgar irritably threw the cigarette and lighter into the trash.

He had become so well-behaved for her, and she still broke up with him. Avery was really heartless.

Edgar was about to find a designated driver when he saw a familiar figure! The guy Avery went on a blind date with today, the president of Vanguard Holdings Group.

The guy was holding a woman intimately, walking past Edgar.

Edgar's face darkened instantly. How could a man like him, who was out looking for women, still had the audacity to meet Avery for a blind date?

Edgar's anger flared up, and he grabbed the guy by the collar and punched him.

The woman with the guy screamed. "Who are you, why are you hitting him?"

Edgar glared at the guy. "You're out here fooling around, and how dare you go on a blind date with Avery."

The guy, after being punched, finally saw Edgar's face clearly and frowned. "What's it to you?"

Edgar got angrier and was about to hit him again.

"Call the police," the guy said in a low voice.

The woman with him frantically called the police.

Soon, the police arrived and took Edgar away.

Edgar felt embarrassed and didn't dare tell his family.

"The other party isn't pressing charges, but you can't be so impulsive when you drink!" At the police station, the officer lectured Edgar.

Edgar didn't say anything, and when he walked out of the station, he saw Avery standing outside.

So it was Avery who found that jerk.

"Honey..." Edgar, still drunk, instinctively wanted to go up and act cute.

Avery frowned and pushed Edgar away.

Edgar stood there, feeling wronged.

"You hit Rhett Murray?" Avery asked, her face dark.

Edgar, like a child who did something wrong, lowered his head and spoke softly. "He deserved it, Avery. He has lover and still went on a blind date with you. Don't marry him, he's a scumbag with a messy personal life."

Avery's face grew darker. "So, Edgar, you're really childish. Do you think marriage is all about mutual fidelity? I'm after benefits!"

Edgar frowned, sobering up a bit.

Avery continued. "Don't do such childish things again. Find a suitable rich girl, and live happily."

Avery said coldly, checking the time. "I've already contacted Jasmine, she'll be here soon."

Edgar stood there, looking at Avery, and after a long time, he let out a self-deprecating laugh. "Avery, for you, I've always been worthless, haven't I?"

Avery didn't say anything.

That was as good as an admission.

Edgar nodded. "Fine, from today on, we're completely done."

Avery still didn't say anything.

"Avery, don't regret it," Edgar said, choking up.

Though his actions were childish, he was really sad.

Ethan parked the car outside the police station, and Jasmine got out, looking at Edgar.

Edgar didn't say anything, walking past Avery.

When it came to emotions, he could handle them as easily as letting them go.

Jasmine looked at Edgar, wanting to say something, but swallowed her words.

When Edgar got in the car, Ethan tossed him a pack of tissues.

The tough-talking Edgar immediately broke down, pulling out tissues to wipe his tears and snot. "Avery is so heartless, you know? She'd rather marry a playboy than marry me."

Ethan glanced at Edgar helplessly, then turned to Jasmine and whispered. "See? This is what happens when you're overly protected. You need to teach Justin not to spoil Casey like this, or he'll end up like Edgar."

"What's wrong with being like me? Ethan, make yourself clear. You stole Jasmine from me, and I haven't even settled that with you yet." Edgar, drunk again, flared up.

Ethan sighed, looking at Jasmine helplessly.

Jasmine felt a bit sorry for Edgar. "Edgar, Avery's personality and upbringing make it hard for her to open up to you easily. If you're tired, just give up."

Edgar sniffled. "I won't!"

Ethan rolled his eyes, serves him right.
