Chapter 235 Edgar, the Foolish Heir of the Landlord
"Dad!" Joe happily ran towards Edgar and jumped into his arms.
Edgar held Joe and waved at Jasmine. "We meet again, lovely meeting you."
“Nice to meet you.” Jasmine awkwardly greeted Edgar and nodded.
Joe looked at Jasmine joyfully. "Mom, my dad is here. You two can join the Parents Day event."
Jasmine felt even more awkward.
"No way!" Justin stood protectively in front of Jasmine. "Mom is my dad's."
Edgar smiled and walked over, squatting in front of Justin. "I can be your dad too."
Jasmine almost choked. Did people who grew up abroad always speak so directly?
"I don't want that. I have a dad," Justin hummed and continued guarding Jasmine, afraid she would be taken away by Edgar.
"Let go of me!" The woman who provoked Jasmine was still struggling, filled with anger. "Do you know who I am? Don't touch me!"
The security guard dared not go too far and had to release her.
The woman's hair was messy, looking disheveled as she stared at Jasmine. Obviously, Jasmine had made her lose face today. "Jasmine, you're done. Is this the father of your child? Who is he? I want to see if he can protect you today!" In order to save face, the woman started calling for help.
"Amy, don't cause a scene. Stop while you're ahead," Jasmine frowned and warned her.
For the sake of their past as high school classmates, Jasmine had already left her a way out.
Amy sneered and looked Edgar up and down. She was a socialite in Silverlight City and was also part of Serena and Zelda's circle. She had seen all kinds of young heirs from prominent families in the country. People like Ethan, who was at the top of the prominent families, were naturally familiar to her. As for Edgar, whom she had never seen before and had no recognition of, Amy didn't care about him at all.
Even if Edgar was dressed in luxury brands from head to toe, she still thought they were all knockoffs. "Everything from head to toe is fake. You guys really make a perfect match."
Edgar lowered his head and assessed himself. He was already dressed in a low-key manner today. He excitedly said, "That's so kind of you. Do we really look like a couple?"
Justin glanced at Edgar with a look that said he was being foolish, then looked at Joe. "Your dad seems a bit silly."
Joe didn't agree with Justin's opinion. "My dad is not stupid."
Casey followed Justin closely and nodded in agreement. "Stupid," he added.
On the other side, Jasmine was speechless and didn't know how to confront Amy.
While Amy was insulting him, Edgar somehow felt like she was complimenting him.
"The necklace you're wearing is the latest spring collection, a private customized design by LD designer for both men and women. It's worth nearly three hundred thousand dollars, and currently, there's only one person in the whole country who has it, and that's Daniel, who bought it for Serena," Amy sneered, suddenly feeling confident. "Before you wear a knock-off, you should at least know about the market."
Edgar glanced at the pendant hanging on his neck. "You really know your stuff."
"And this whole outfit you're wearing, the official website sells it for tens of thousands of dollars. These shoes alone cost twenty thousand," Amy looked down at Edgar. "This brand is designed by a famous designer, and it's the Cunningham Family's young master Edgar's own brand. It's not something you can buy with just money."
Edgar raised an eyebrow. She seemed to know a lot about him.
Indeed, he designed this outfit for himself.
"No wonder you two are a couple, one posing as a wealthy heiress, and the other wearing knock-offs," Amy proclaimed, thinking she had regained her dignity as she coldly laughed.
It didn't take long for her backup to arrive.
Jasmine never expected the person who came to be Serena and Daniel, along with the group of wealthy second generations.
"Jasmine, I see you're in trouble," Amy gained immediate confidence once she saw her people had arrived.
"You're adults, and you want to start a brawl?" Edgar was confused about the current situation and looked at Jasmine with a blank expression. "Is this about fighting?"
"Do you... think you can win?" Jasmine teased, covering her forehead with her hand. She truly felt that he seemed a bit silly.
"Of course, no problem," Edgar immediately replied. Jasmine was only being sarcastic, but Edgar thought she was genuinely concerned about whether he could win.
Surprised at the parents' day at school, the so-called competition turned out to be a fight. As expected, these people were physically strong.
"Look, this person is Jasmine's secret lover who finally showed up," Amy sneered and pointed at Edgar, claiming that she was engaged in an underground romance.
Daniel wasn't originally planning to get involved in this nonsense, but when Amy mentioned that Jasmine brought an unfamiliar man to the parents' day, he wanted to see who else, besides Henry, had an intimate relationship with her.
"Jasmine, who is he?" Daniel furrowed his brows and asked.
"Mind your own business." Jasmine muttered under her breath.
Daniel thought he had misheard, 'Did Jasmine swear at me?'
"Jasmine, who do you think you are swearing at?" Serena, as pale as ever, stepped forward and questioned.
"Do you want to be insulted as well?" Jasmine gently asked. "Look at you, you can hardly stand, not properly resting in the hospital. Stay away from us, I'm afraid you'll frame us."
Jasmine pulled Edgar back, afraid that if Serena fainted accidentally, Serena would blame her.
Edgar happily protected Jasmine in front of her. "It's alright, I'm not afraid."
Jasmine sighed, "Stay away from her, she will extort you."
"I have money," Edgar said, not afraid of being extorted.
"What if she doesn't want money, but your kidney?" Jasmine muttered quietly.
Edgar was shocked. "Organ trafficking is illegal, I'll report it."
"Jasmine!" Serena's face turned even paler with anger. "I see you've been doing well lately, you should indeed donate your kidney to me. Daniel, this is what she owes me!"
Daniel frowned, looking at Jasmine up and down. After not seeing her for a few days, she did look a lot better.
"Since you're now so energetic, you should fulfill your promise and donate your kidney," Daniel told Jasmine. "Don't forget that you owe the Wilson Family."
"If I can donate my kidney, how will the Wilsons repay their debts to me?" Jasmine earnestly asked Daniel.
Daniel paused. "What are you talking about? They don't owe you anything!"
"Evan and Serena know in their hearts," Jasmine looked at Serena and spoke again. "Furthermore, what about the accusations of extortion, bullying, and hurting me? Don't they count?"
Serena felt a bit guilty, as it was she who had Evan set Jasmine up to sleep with someone else.
"Or is it that in your eyes, only Serena's life is considered painful, and my pain doesn't count?" Jasmine questioned Daniel.
Daniel looked at Jasmine in surprise, surprised that she now had the courage to fight back.
This was completely different from when Jasmine had just been released from prison.
"So, you're going back on your word now?" Daniel angrily asked. "You have taken away twenty-one years of Serena's prosperous life! You are truly selfish."
"You're her fiancé. Since you love her so much, why don't you donate?" Jasmine clenched her fists and looked at Daniel, finding him repulsive.
"Jasmine! I was initially considering letting you rest for a while longer, but now it seems completely unnecessary. You better go get checked at the hospital right now and agree to donate your kidney!" Daniel threatened.
"Who do you think you are?" Ethan's voice came from the door, sounding deep and filled with anger.
