Chapter 580: Howard Has Another Illegitimate Child

When Ethan and Brandon walked in, they saw Claire sprawled on the floor, twisted up with blood on her forehead. They exchanged a look but kept quiet.

Seeing Claire had taken a nasty fall, Brandon finally rushed over. "Mrs. Douglas, what happened?"

Claire couldn't speak for a bit, not sure what nerve she hit. After a while, she snapped out of it and gritted her teeth. "I need to call the cops!"

"Did you fall and suddenly grow a conscience? Calling the cops on yourself?" Ethan looked shocked. "Is that even possible?"

Joe peeked out from behind Ethan, staring seriously at the air above Claire. "Be careful with her head; she hit it pretty hard."

Claire's face went pale, and she pointed a shaky finger at Joe. "You little brat, stop talking nonsense! What are you babbling about?"

Joe looked at Ethan. "Dad, why are those two people pulling her head? They said she did a lot of bad stuff and she's going to hell."

Ethan rubbed his forehead. Was Joe learning this from Edgar?

"What people? I don't see anyone," Brandon asked, trying not to laugh.

Justin also pointed behind Claire. "Can't you see them?"

Claire was almost too scared to talk, wishing she could eat the two kids alive.

"People who do bad things often get what's coming to them," Ethan said in a serious tone.

Claire turned white with fear and glanced at Brandon. "Mr. Russell, I don't feel well. I gotta go, we can talk tomorrow."

She scrambled up, holding onto the door frame, and bolted out.

As soon as Claire left, Brandon couldn't help but burst out laughing, clutching his stomach.

"Uncle Brandon, stop laughing. Those two people are looking back at you," Joe said creepily.

Brandon's smile froze, and he went silent.

Ethan held back his laughter and said, "Edgar's been a bad influence on them."

Brandon chuckled and pointed to the dining table. "Sit down, let's wait for Jasmine and eat."

As he spoke, Brandon glanced back, feeling a chill down his spine.

Joe was really good at freaking people out.

When Jasmine arrived from the hospital, the private room only had Ethan, Brandon, and the two kids; Claire was gone.

"Where's Claire?" Jasmine asked softly as Ethan got up to greet her.

"Your son scared her away," Ethan said with a grin.

Jasmine gave Joe and Justin a look of approval.

"Jasmine, come, sit." Brandon warmly invited Jasmine, offering her the main seat.

Jasmine looked at Brandon warily. The closer he got, the more she backed away, almost sticking to Ethan.

Ethan glared at Brandon, signaling him to sit down.

After Brandon sat down, he cleared his throat. "Jasmine, I invited you to dinner today because I knew Claire wouldn't stay. I specifically wanted to invite your family."

Jasmine still looked at Brandon warily. "Mr. Russell, you're too kind. Let's not beat around the bush. I believe that the contract has many unreasonable terms. Would you be willing to do us a favor and terminate this contract in Ethan's name?"

Jasmine looked at Brandon and spoke again, "I believe that if Mr. Russell agrees, there will be broader cooperation opportunities with the Cunningham family, the Douglas family, and our LY in the future."

Brandon glanced at Ethan.

Ethan grinned like he was saying, "See? That's my wife."

Jasmine was indeed something else.

Brandon pouted, feeling like he was just a prop for the couple to flaunt their love.

"Well..." Brandon tried to explain. "Jasmine, actually, my relationship with Ethan is kinda special."

The fork in Jasmine's hand clattered onto the table.

Ethan sat up straight, his back stiff as a board.

Jasmine looked at Ethan suspiciously, then at Brandon.

Ethan gritted his teeth. "Brandon, you really need to work on how you phrase things."

"Jasmine, you're overthinking it. Ethan and I are just really good friends. Before he got married, we used to crash in the same bed all the time."

Jasmine felt her anger rising, thinking she had stumbled upon a male lover situation.

"Brandon, that's enough," Ethan said through clenched teeth. "Jasmine, we did know each other way back and later started a business together, so..."

Jasmine's brain was on overload, trying to process everything. "Started a business?"

"You two started a business together? What happened? Didn't it succeed?" Jasmine asked softly.

"It was pretty successful," Brandon said with a grin.

Jasmine nodded. "Successful?"

"The Raymond Group exists today because Ethan and I started it together," Brandon said proudly.

Jasmine was stunned for a moment, her face turning red with anger. "Brandon, you are really something. You and Ethan founded the Raymond Group, yet you took all the credit. That's so low."

Jasmine felt it was unfair for Ethan and nervously held his hand. "We're not taking this. Let's go."

With that, Jasmine pulled Ethan to leave.

Brandon was dumbfounded. It wasn't like that.

"Jasmine, let me explain. The Raymond Group is indeed..." Brandon hurried to explain, while Jasmine was eager to take Ethan away.

The private room door opened, and Howard walked in with a smile.

"Mr. Russell is hosting here, and I'm late," Howard said with a grin, holding a bottle of good wine, and sat down directly. "Claire said she wasn't feeling well today and couldn't make it. I thought I shouldn't neglect Mr. Russell, so I rushed over."

Howard sat next to Brandon, looking calmly at Ethan and Jasmine, speaking in a senior tone. "Why are you standing? Sit down."

Jasmine glared at Brandon and said angrily, "Since Mr. Russell has other guests, we won't stay!"

Ethan also glared at Howard and left with the two kids.

Howard's arrival cut off Brandon's eager explanation.

Great, the misunderstanding deepened.

Howard smiled and said, "They are so ignorant. Come on, Mr. Russell, I'll keep you company."

Howard was, of course, happy. Judging by their attitudes, it seemed they had parted on bad terms. Brandon must have been too greedy to agree to help Ethan, and they didn't reach an agreement.

This was good. If no one could do it, the shares would always remain in his hands.

Outside the hotel, Jasmine angrily held Ethan's hand. As they exited the revolving door, they nearly bumped into someone.

Ethan frowned and pulled Jasmine into his arms, looking at the other person warily.

The other person also looked at Ethan, then shifted his gaze to Jasmine. "Sorry, my bad."

Jasmine also glanced at the guy, who was a man of extraordinary temperament, looking somewhat similar to Daniel and Ethan.
