Chapter 407 Jasmine Found Casey

Jordan turned around in anger and looked at Lisa. "You're right. This is our punishment. That's why I met you; this is my punishment!"

Lisa stood still, watching Jordan leave.

She was Jordan's punishment, and Jordan was hers.

She remembered the moment she fell in love with Jordan vividly.

Back then, Ethan's mother hadn't died yet, and Claire hadn't married Howard. Before Howard married Claire, he ignored Claire and her children to maintain the Douglas family's reputation and to appease his first wife.

Lisa and Daniel grew up with Claire in a rented house in the slums.

The first time she was brought back to the Douglas family, everyone looked down on her, mocked her, and ridiculed her.

She refused to acknowledge herself as the daughter of a mistress, feeling despair and shame. She ran out of the Douglas family crying and hid in the bushes, crying for a long time.

It was Jordan who found her and gave her a box of chocolates.

That was the first time Lisa saw Jordan, and she was attracted to the innate aura of a wealthy family's child that he exuded.

He was wearing a school uniform, but it couldn't hide his noble temperament.

"Did someone bully you?" Jordan asked.

Lisa didn't respond.

"Here, take this." Jordan handed the chocolates to Lisa and left.

Lisa was excited and happy for a long time because of that box of chocolates.

Later, she found out that the chocolates were originally a gift from Jordan to Jasmine, but Jasmine didn't want them.

That day, Jordan was going to throw the chocolates away, but when he saw Lisa crying in the corner, he felt sorry for her and gave them to her instead.

Life was very strange, and emotions were just as strange as life.

At the Capital Hospital.

Alex sat on a bench in the hallway, constantly messaging Evelina.

But Evelina had blocked him.

"Alex!" Karen woke up from a nap, suddenly got up, and came out barefoot to find Alex.

Seeing that he hadn't left, Karen breathed a sigh of relief.

"Alex..."

Alex turned to look at Karen. "I'll stay tonight, but after this, we're done. We shouldn't see each other again."

Karen cried. "You can't do this to me."

Alex spoke in a low voice, "When your father kicked me out of Silverlight City, and I had nothing, working over ten hours a day without rest, nearly dying from exhaustion, I met Evelina."

To Alex, at that time, Evelina was like a redeemer.

"Then what about our relationship?" Karen looked at Alex.

"It's in the past." Alex rubbed his temples. "I came back for Evan."

"You came back for Evan, but you have no feelings for me at all?" Karen looked at Alex unwillingly.

"Aren't you sick? Why are you sitting here?" When Evan arrived, Karen was sitting on the floor crying.

"Evan, talk to your dad, have a chat. He doesn't know you exist, you..." Karen tried to use Evan to rekindle some of Alex's old feelings.

"My mom is sick, and she's mentally unstable. There are caregivers to take care of her. Why are you still here?" Evan frowned, looking at Alex.

Alex said nothing.

"He can't leave, he's your father. I've suffered a lot for him, for you," Karen said.

Evan looked at Karen, realizing she was using the same emotional tactics to bind them.

"The paternity test hasn't been done yet. You say I'm Alex's son, but I don't believe it. You said Serena is your daughter, my sister, but she isn't." Evan signaled the caregiver to help Karen back to her room.

"You have no relationship with my mom anymore. At this point, there's no responsibility or obligation to stay here. I heard your wife has been with you since you were young and had nothing. What you're doing now shows no responsibility or commitment."

Evan spoke in a low voice, glancing at the room. "Parents are the best teachers for their children, leading by example. I'm a jerk because the parents who raised me were both abnormal, and I'm just like them."

Evan's words were very clear. If they were truly father and son, then Alex's lack of responsibility had already affected him.

"Evan, let's have a proper talk later." Alex stood up and looked at Evan.

"Mr. Everhart, there's nothing we need to talk about. Your wife can't have children because of complications from giving birth. Not having children with others is the greatest sense of security and repayment you can give her. You had me with Karen before you met her, and I should disappear too," Evan said bitterly.

So far, he realized his life was a complete failure. He was the one who should disappear completely.

"You know about my assets." Alex looked at Evan.

He wanted a son, someone to inherit everything he had.

He couldn't bear the thought of giving everything away to someone else.

"You can donate your assets to those in need or hand over your business to capable people. In any case, it can be anyone but me." Evan stood at the door of the hospital room. "I've already booked a ticket to leave. I'll be gone in a few days. Don't waste your time and energy on me. Once I leave, none of you will be able to find me."

He had already decided to leave this place completely. No matter what others would think him coward or call him an escapist, Evan had already made up his mind.

Before he left, the only person he wanted to see was Jasmine.

However, he knew Jasmine wouldn't want to see him.

At Ethan's Residence.

Mitchell took an hour to find out where Casey was last seen.

As soon as Jasmine heard, she knew Casey had gone home. "Ethan! Hurry up."

The car stopped downstairs, and Jasmine anxiously got out and ran into the stairwell.

Coming out of the elevator, Jasmine saw Casey curled up and asleep at the door.

He was still wearing his cute overalls, a small child with tear-streaked cheeks, holding his stuffed doll tightly, sleeping soundly.

The doll was a gift from Justin, made by Richard, and it was a bit ugly.

"Mommy, don't throw away my doll," Casey mumbled in his sleep.

Probably because Lisa had thrown the doll away several times, thinking it was ugly.

Casey always cried and found it, holding it like a treasure, taking it everywhere.

"Casey," Jasmine picked up the little guy, gently coaxing him, "Wake up."

Casey woke up, rubbing his eyes. "Mommy."

Jasmine paused for a moment, then smiled. "Casey, why did you fall asleep at the door?"

Casey sniffled, looking down at his doll. "I miss Justin."

"Justin and Joe are at Grandma's house. How about I take you there?" Jasmine ruffled Casey's hair.

Casey nodded happily, his eyes bright.

"Then tell me, why did you run out alone?" Jasmine asked.

"They said Daddy doesn't like me, that I'm extra, and it would be better if I weren't here," Casey said softly.

If he disappeared, Jordan and Lisa would be together and not fight anymore.

Ethan also ran over, and seeing Casey, he breathed a sigh of relief.

He picked Casey up by his overalls and opened his mouth to scold him but held back, suppressing his emotions. "You can't run off like that again," he said.

"Uncle..." Casey looked down, hugging his doll tightly, being held up by Ethan.

Jasmine was amused by the two of them.

Ethan's face was full of disdain, while Casey's was full of grievance, a stark contrast.

"I've already called your parents. They'll be here soon," Ethan said, holding Casey in his arms.

"Uncle, can I live with you and Justin? I'll be a well-behaved child. Daddy and Mommy don't like me. I don't want to go home," Casey said.

Jasmine wanted to comfort Casey, but her phone rang. It was Lily calling.

Answering the call, Jasmine heard Lily's cries for help. "Get away from me, don't touch me, get away."

"Help."

"Where are you?" Jasmine asked nervously.

"Please help me; I'm on a street outside the University of Silverlight City. They're trying to take me away..." Lily cried, begging Jasmine to save her.

She knew that only Jasmine could help her.
