Chapter 797 Mr. Cunningham's Regret and the Beginning of His Pursuit of Love

"Nolan?" Elaine called out.

Nolan snapped back to reality, his face displeased. "Let's go back."

She didn't say anything, just nodded.

When the assistant and driver arrived, Nolan's face was very cold.

The assistant nervously spoke up. "Mr. Cunningham."

Nolan glanced back at Amelia, who was still showing affection with Nathaniel, and gritted his teeth. "Take Miss Long to the airport first, make sure she gets back safely."

Elaine was taken aback. "Nolan, aren't you coming back?"

"I have a business deal to discuss here in Sunrise City." Nolan made it clear he wanted to ditch Elaine.

Elaine felt a bit hurt, knowing clearly that if she didn't fight for it, there would be no chance for her and Nolan. "I'll go with you, maybe I can help."

Nolan looked at the time. "No need, you go back."

Elaine opened her mouth, feeling it would be impolite to insist. "Alright, I'll wait for you in Silverlight City."

After she got in the car, Nolan grabbed the assistant. "Call Nathaniel's agent, he's still too idle."

The assistant shivered and quickly nodded.

After sending Elaine off, the assistant called for another car. "Mr. Cunningham, where are we going?"

"Nowhere, I'm staying here for the night." Nolan wanted to stay another night at Amelia's guesthouse.

But Nathaniel was too much of an eyesore.

Before long, Nathaniel's agent called.

He knew it was Nolan's doing, thinking Nolan was too childish.

Helpless, work was important, so Nathaniel had to leave first.

"I'm leaving now." Nathaniel hugged Amelia. "Call me if you need anything."

Knowing Nolan was hiding in the car by the roadside, Nathaniel deliberately kissed Amelia on the forehead.

Amelia's body stiffened, but she still nodded. "Okay, take care."

Nathaniel got in the car and left, leaving Amelia standing at the door, feeling lost.

"So reluctant to part?" Nolan got out of the car, his voice deep and clearly displeased.

"Mr. Cunningham didn't leave?" Amelia asked, her voice cold and calm.

In reality, she was very nervous.

"I decided to stay a few more days." Nolan looked around, the place seemed really nice.

Amelia lowered her head. "Sorry, all the rooms are booked, there's no room for you."

Nolan's room was only booked for one night, so it was gone.

Nolan was a bit unhappy. "I can pay extra."

"Sorry, it's not about the money, it's about trust." Amelia pointed to the guesthouse next door. "You can stay there."

Nolan walked up to her, very unhappy. "Amelia, don't treat me like this."

She looked up at Nolan. "Mr. Cunningham, how should I treat you?"

Nolan was stunned, looking away, feeling guilty.

He hadn't treated Amelia well in the past.

"I'll stay in your room." Nolan shamelessly said.

Amelia was infuriated, when did he become so shameless?

"Mr. Cunningham, with your status, there are plenty of luxury hotels in Sunrise City, there's no need to squeeze in here. Don't you have a cleanliness obsession? I'm a dirty woman." Amelia's voice was hoarse.

Nolan wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in his throat.

"Are you and Nathaniel married?" he asked.

"Yes." Amelia lied.

Nolan frowned. "He's not right for you, he's a celebrity, you know how messy their private lives are?"

Nolan wanted to say that her public image wasn't good because she was Lawrence's daughter. If their secret marriage got out, it would hurt her a lot.

Amelia laughed self-deprecatingly. "Mr. Cunningham, we have no ties anymore. Nathaniel is my husband, the father of my child, please don't speak ill of him."

Nolan rubbed his temples in frustration. He used to disdain explaining, but now he couldn't get the words out.

He regretted it but didn't know how to make amends.

He wanted to win Amelia back, to return to the past, but he didn't know how to do it.

"Suit yourself." Amelia said coldly, turning to leave.

He stood in the yard, frustrated, wanting to slap himself.

Was he being cheap, driving Amelia away, and now wanting to win her back?

Sitting in the yard, Nolan didn't know what to do, so he called Jasmine for help.

Only Jasmine would help him without laughing at him.

"Nolan? What's up?" Jasmine answered the phone.

"Well." Nolan coughed. "I have a friend, who used to have a young girl clinging to him. He thought the age gap was too big, and their statuses didn't match, so he thought they had no chance and drove her away, even did some bad things. But now he regrets it, and the girl is married..."

"Cheating man." Jasmine cursed.

Nolan felt he hadn't finished speaking.

"She's married, what does your friend want? Is he regretting driving him away earlier? Does he want to be the third wheel now, or is he trying to break up the girl's marriage?" Jasmine asked angrily.

"Third party?" Nolan was agitated. He would be a third party?

He, the president of the Cunningham Group, would be a third party?

"But her husband isn't a good person either, he's in the entertainment industry, you know how it is, full of debauchery. I heard he was invited to a... gathering before." Nolan always had a bad impression of Nathaniel.

Because someone without a family background, who could make it in the entertainment industry to his current status, couldn't be innocent.

"What does that have to do with your friend?" Jasmine spoke again. "Your friend had already missed her. Wait until the girl gets divorced. Don't be misbehavior."

Nolan was speechless from Jasmine's scolding.

"Alright." Nolan was silent.

"Nolan." Jasmine's voice was puzzled. "That friend isn't you, is it?"

"What a joke, I..." Nolan immediately denied. "Alright, I have a meeting, I'll hang up now."

Nolan quickly hung up, leaning weakly against the pillar.

Even if Amelia was to get married and have children, it shouldn't be with Nathaniel.

He had said before he wouldn't abandon her.

Looking back at Amelia still busy, he frowned.

Should he wait for her to get divorced?

If Amelia saw Nathaniel's true colors, would she wake up and divorce him?

So Nolan called his assistant to investigate Nathaniel.

"Mr. Cunningham, Nathaniel's crew is having a party tonight. Bruce Simmons, a boss in Sunrise City, invited the whole crew to the biggest entertainment club in Sunrise City. You know the expenses there, many rich women like these male celebrities." Sure enough, he found something.

Nolan squinted his eyes. Although it was a bit unethical, Nathaniel himself wasn't innocent.

So, Nolan got up and walked to Amelia. "Come with me tonight."

Amelia didn't even look up. "I'm not available."
