Chapter 257 Annabelle doesn't look like Bernice.
"Ethan, the story behind this is long. Let's talk about it tomorrow when I come to find you," Annabelle whispered.
Ethan coldly snorted and said calmly, "Joe, do you think this lady looks like Mrs. Cunningham?"
There were some things Ethan couldn't say, so he could only let Joe speak for him. After all, Joe was just a child. He didn't want Bernice to feel embarrassed.
Ethan was a shrewd person and knew how to make good use of Joe.
Joe blinked, looked at Annabelle, and said, "She doesn't look like Mrs. Cunningham, but my mommy and grandma do!"
Wilson took a deep breath and hugged Joe. "Joe, would you like something to eat?"
Annabelle's face turned pale.
Ethan raised an eyebrow and said nothing.
"Ethan, between Annabelle and Fiona, who do you plan to choose?" Nolan asked with a dark expression.
Regardless of whether Ethan chose Fiona or Annabelle, Ethan had to make a decision today.
Wilson nervously glanced at Ethan.
Ethan looked at Fiona, then at Annabelle. "Mr. Cunningham, both of them are women you like. How dare I compete with you?"
Fiona scowled at Annabelle and said, "Ethan's marriage should be his own decision."
"Mrs. Cordelia, this is my wife. We have already obtained a marriage license," Ethan stood up and stood beside Wilson. He hugged Joe and took out the marriage license. "Our wedding is scheduled for the second half of the year, and you must come."
Cordelia looked at Ethan in surprise, then looked at Wilson. "Since you have obtained a marriage license, Ethan, don't let Wilson down. I really like Wilson, and if you make her sad, I won't let it go."
Ethan nodded with a smile.
Annabelle looked at the marriage license in shock and couldn't come to her senses for a while.
She had thought the picture Ethan posted on Facebook was fake, but she didn't expect them to actually obtain a marriage license.
She thought to herself, 'How is this possible? What's so good about Wilson? Why would Ethan choose her?'
Tears welled up in Annabelle's eyes, and she stood up saying, "Mom, I'm not feeling well. I'll go back to my room first."
After saying that, she ran off, looking visibly upset.
Cordelia was a little hesitant, but she didn't want to comment on the emotional matters between young people. "Ethan, it would be best if you explain the misunderstanding between you and Annabelle as soon as possible."
"Of course, Mrs. Cordelia," Ethan nodded.
Wilson was nervous and sweating in his palms. He dared not look at Nolan.
It was obvious that Nolan was very angry already.
He gave Wilson a stern glance and thought to himself, 'She really is calculating.'
"Mom, take Joe to see Annabelle," Nolan looked at Cordelia, clearly wanting to keep her away.
Cordelia nodded and took Joe to find Annabelle.
"Fiona, you should go back to your room too," Nolan told Fiona.
Fiona exclaimed in frustration, "Nolan!"
"You go and rest first," Nolan responded once again. Fiona reluctantly got up and returned to her room.
Only Edgar was left at the dining table. He was still immersed in the news of Ethan getting married. He looked at Ethan and said, "Show me your marriage license."
Ethan raised an eyebrow and handed the marriage license to Edgar.
Edgar looked at the marriage license pensively. "This must be fake," he said sadly, glancing at Wilson. "I'm heartbroken."
Wilson awkwardly smiled. "It's not fake."
"Give it back to me," Ethan reached out and snatched the marriage license, putting it back in his pocket. "Don't dirty it."
Edgar looked at Ethan disparagingly and leaned toward Wilson. "Wilson, think about it again. It's so boring to live with him."
"Mr. Ethan Douglas is fine," Wilson whispered.
"Edgar, go back to your room," Nolan instructed Edgar to leave.
Edgar obviously cared about Nolan's command. "Why should I go back? I haven't eaten yet."
Nolan's face darkened, ignoring Edgar.
"You keep eating, don't mind him. He was kidnapped when he was a child, and his way of showing affection to others is being cold," Edgar whispered to Wilson.
Wilson was taken aback and looked at Nolan. He couldn't believe Nolan had been kidnapped.
"Ethan, are you sure?" Nolan asked in a deep voice.
"Mr. Cunningham, do you intend to ruin someone else's marriage? How shameless," Ethan responded calmly.
Nolan took a deep breath, getting angry at Ethan's words. "It seems like you don't care if someone takes your position at Stellar Enterprises."
"Anything that can be taken away is garbage to me," Ethan said disdainfully. The tension between them immediately heightened as they locked eyes.
The two of them could start fighting at any moment.
Edgar pulled Wilson away from them. "Stay away, don't let them accidentally hurt you."
Wilson anxiously looked at Ethan and carefully held onto the hem of his clothes. She didn't want Ethan and Nolan to become enemies.
She thought to herself, 'After today, Nolan will definitely look for Howard. In his anger, he might take action against Ethan. After all, there are no more obstacles.'
Taking a deep breath, Wilson started contemplating her and Ethan's way out.
Claire paced around the Douglas Residence, clapping her hands in frustration. "I can't believe how impressive Annabelle is. She's actually the daughter of the Cunningham family. What a lucky break for her."
With a huff, Claire became extremely angry.
Although the Harper Family was wealthy, they were not on the same level as the Cunningham Family.
"Howard, can you believe Annabelle is the daughter of the Cunningham family?" Claire whispered.
Howard also snorted in disdain and said, "Ethan is really fortunate."
"Howard, Ethan was so determined to break off the engagement with the Harper Family, and now he's a member of the Cunningham Family," Claire sat next to Howard and whispered, "Maybe we should talk to the Harper Family and convince Daniel and Serena to break off their engagement. That way, Daniel can get engaged to Annabelle and have a better life than Ethan."
"Just look at how rebellious Ethan has become. He will never listen to us. Once he becomes wealthy, I'm afraid he will-" Claire sighed and didn't finish her sentence.
Howard snorted in agreement. He understood what Claire was trying to say.
Clearly, Ethan no longer respects him as his father.
If Ethan is connected to the Cunningham Family, it would be difficult for him to handle Ethan in the future.
"What's wrong with Daniel these days?" Howard asked angrily. "He's useless! He's nowhere near as capable as his brother. How can he make the Douglas family stronger in the future?"
Upon hearing Howard's words, Claire couldn't help but feel happy. She knew Howard would pass the family business to Daniel. "Daniel has been studying hard these days. He's very dedicated," she praised Daniel.
In reality, Daniel hadn't been studying at all these days. He spent every day drinking at a bar.
All he wanted was to see Wilson again.
Unfortunately, Wilson would never see him again.
