Chapter 524 Annabelle's Punishment

"Annabelle, we're family. What your dad has could ruin us. Hand it over," Howard demanded, trying to intimidate her.

Annabelle knew Howard wanted the evidence to blackmail businesses in Silverlight City and boost the Douglas Group. But he was too confident.

"I'll never give it to you," Annabelle replied, feeling guilty. She didn't have the evidence. Even if she had it, she wouldn't hand it over.

Howard's face darkened. "Daniel, there's stuff at the company that needs you. Go. I'll handle Annabelle."

Daniel hesitated, realizing Howard's plan to imprison Annabelle and get the evidence.

"Dad, what if somebody at the company asks about her?" Daniel asked, his voice shaky.

"If anyone asks, say Annabelle's sick. After her miscarriage, she's depressed and suicidal. She needs to stay home," Howard said, each word chilling Annabelle.

Annabelle tried to call the police, but Howard's men took her phone. She had no one to help her—no family, no friends.

"Daniel," Annabelle pleaded, fear rising. "Please take me away. I'll agree to the divorce."

Daniel took a deep breath, unsure what to do.

Claire, understanding Howard's plan, smirked. "You were so arrogant. Now no one can save you."

Claire's voice dripped with venom, and Howard's words were cold and ruthless.

"Daniel, get back to the company," Claire ordered.

Daniel gave Annabelle a conflicted look, then left.

Annabelle called out in despair, but he was gone.

"Daniel, you're a coward. Come back!"

As soon as Daniel left, Claire slapped Annabelle, pulling her hair and beating her. "Scream all you want. Just hand over the stuff."

Annabelle glared at Claire and Howard. "You'll get what's coming to you."

"The Harper family has info crucial to the Douglas family. Don't you want Daniel to run the company? Get the info from her, and I'll let Daniel take over," Howard said calmly.

Claire, ruthless and cunning, smiled. "Don't worry, Howard. I'll make her talk."

"Lock her in the basement. If she screams, break her legs," Claire ordered, crushing Annabelle's last hope.

Annabelle regretted falling out with Zelda. Now, no one could save her.

Meanwhile, Ethan sat in his office, looking serious. "Raymond, I've sent you the evidence. If anything happens to me, it'll protect Jasmine, the kids, and the Cunningham family."

Raymond was silent for a moment. "Howard hasn't completely lost it yet."

"He will soon. He'll realize I have the evidence," Ethan replied.

"Have you secured the evidence about your mom's death?" Raymond asked.

"Not yet."

"You need to hurry."

Ethan nodded. "I need to leave LY for a while. Howard's targeting LY. I can't let it be destroyed; it's my gift to Jasmine and Richard."

"Ethan, you can't let anything happen to you," Raymond sighed.

"I'll try my best," Ethan smiled, knowing how ruthless Howard could be. The critical moment was coming, and Howard would retaliate like a madman.

At the Project Department, Samuel frowned at the rumors spreading. "Is the company's hiring standard so low now?"

Someone was stirring up trouble, isolating Jasmine. Her desk was covered in shredded paper.

"Samuel, do you care about her because she's your girlfriend? Mr. Douglas says no dating allowed. If you two are dating, one of you has to go," someone pressed.

"Yeah, even if you're the director, no exceptions."

Samuel glared at Deborah standing in the distance. "Is everyone in Group A so bored?"

"I've explained it, but they don't believe me," Deborah said, smiling slyly. She was trying to break Jasmine's spirit, forcing her to reveal her relationship with Ethan or continue hiding it. Either way, they'd push her out unless she revealed her shareholder status, which she probably didn't want to do yet.

"Samuel and I are innocent," Jasmine said, knowing it was a trap. "Do you have any evidence?"

"Of course. Last night, a luxury car picked you up from the back door. Only employees can park in the underground lot. Who else could it be but an internal employee?"

"I saw it too. A Mercedes worth hundreds of thousands. Besides Samuel, no one else here can afford it."

They were all whispering, green with envy..

Jasmine sighed. "So what if I'm dating someone within the company?"

"Is that an admission? The company rule is no dating. If you have a problem, take it up with Mr. Douglas."
