Chapter 391 Annabelle Went Crazy at the Party

The reporters quickly turned their cameras towards Zelda.

"Ms. Martinez, what do you mean by this?" a reporter hurriedly asked,

Annabelle's face turned a bit sour. "Zelda, what do you mean by this? Who invited you to tonight's party?"

Annabelle looked down on Zelda who had no intelligence or talent, yet she had overshadowed her for so many years.

It was hard enough to keep her in check, and now she was acting foolish again.

"Annabelle, do you think you're the only face of the Harper family?" Zelda sneered. "You called the paternity test agency to ask them to falsify the results and agreed to pay $30,000. That was you."

Zelda smiled and took out a recording. "Annabelle, when you called the director of the paternity test agency, I was right outside the door listening. You were really careless."

Annabelle looked at Zelda in shock, her whole body tense.

The reporters were also shocked, looking at Zelda. "Ms. Martinez, are you saying that Ms. Harper deliberately asked the paternity test agency to falsify the results and that the director of the agency was bribed? Is that what you mean? Do you have evidence?"

Reporters instantly surrounded Zelda.

"Ms. Martinez, please elaborate."

Annabelle finally reacted, looking at Zelda in a frenzy. "Zelda, are you crazy? Do you not want to return to the Harper family? If you dare to talk nonsense, I will definitely kill you!"

Zelda watched Annabelle go mad and waved her phone in front of her.

"Annabelle, do you know what I hate most about you? I hate that high-and-mighty attitude of yours, always looking down on me, as if you were the only heiress in the family and I shouldn't exist! After I was born, Mom and Dad gave me more attention and love, and seeing you jealous made me the happiest."

Zelda played the recording.

"Annabelle, when I was eight, you took me out and tried to abandon me. You thought I didn't remember, but I knew everything. Do you know why Mom and Dad don't like you? It's because I secretly told them about it." Zelda played the recording.

In the recording, Annabelle was on the phone with someone from the appraisal agency.
The reporters' eyes lit up, capturing everything, and intense discussions erupted online instantly.
[Ms. Annabelle from the Harper family bribed someone from the appraisal center to impersonate the heiress of the Cunningham family.]
[Annabelle's kind persona has completely collapsed.]
[Annabelle's bitter life.]
These headlines quickly dominated the top news on various websites.
The entire event turned into a session for spreading bad news about Annabelle.
Fiona leaned against the corner, watching the stunned Annabelle, sighed, and shook her head.
People might not be able to choose their birth, but they could choose their path.
Annabelle's situation today was her own choice.
There were countless right paths, but she chose to hurt others.
When you hurt others, be prepared, for one day you would receive the punishment you deserve.
Life was just like that, but she couldn't understand it.
Taking a sip of red wine, Fiona found it boring, put the glass on the table, and sneaked away while her agent wasn't looking.
She hated these business parties the most.
"Zelda! You must be crazy!" Annabelle's hysterical voice could still be heard at the party.
Fiona chuckled, took off her high heels, threw them out of the bathroom window, lifted her dress, and climbed out the window, intending to jump out.
"Ah!" She missed her step and fell.
She thought she would fall into the bushes, but it seemed like she landed on something.
"Can you get up?" A man's deep, gritted voice came from behind.
Fiona quickly stood up, looking at him in horror. "What are you doing in the bush?"
Ryan, with a gloomy face, first looked at the high heels that had hit his head, then at Fiona, who had landed on him. "We have no enmity; why do you keep hurting me?"
"You! Dr. Ryan?" Fiona was even more horrified. Why did he look so gloomy? What was a doctor doing in the bushes?
"I brought my cousin to the party. A kitten got stuck in the crevice of a rock and kept meowing. I was trying to rescue it when a pair of high heels fell on my head! I was about to see who threw the heels, and then you landed on me!" Ryan almost gritted his teeth as he spoke.
Fiona laughed awkwardly, picking up the high heels from the ground. "So, did you rescue the kitten?"
"No," Ryan said coldly, squatting down to continue rescuing the cat.
The concrete slab had a crack, and the kitten somehow got stuck in it.
"Move, let me do it!" Fiona pushed Ryan, picked up the high heels, and struck the crack in the concrete slab hard. Soon, the sharp heel had made an opening in the crack.
Ryan used a twig to pry open the concrete slab and rescued a small kitten from inside.
"It's so small. If we just leave it like this, can it survive?" Fiona asked softly, her face flushed, clearly tipsy from the wine.
Ryan looked at Fiona, who was barefoot and squatting on the ground and was momentarily stunned.
A star, usually like this?
Seeing Fiona's red eyes, I almost cried.
"I'll find someone to adopt it," Ryan said softly,
"It's just like me, unwanted and always abandoned," Fiona said, tears streaming down her face.
Ryan panicked; he had never been this flustered before. "Why are you crying?"
"Can you adopt it?" Fiona looked up at Ryan.
Ryan's heart tightened. "You know my job; I'm very busy, mostly working night shifts."
"Then we can adopt it together! When I'm not filming or on a schedule, I can take care of it. When I go out, I'll send it to you. Is that okay?" Fiona looked at Ryan with longing eyes.

Ryan was originally going to refuse sternly; he wouldn't allow his limited energy to be wasted on a kitten.
But Fiona looked at him like that, and he actually agreed. "Okay."
After agreeing, he was stunned himself.
He was going to raise a cat.
"Dr. Ryan, you are such a good person." Fiona sniffled and took out her phone. "Dr. Ryan, let's exchange contact information. If there's any problem with the kitten, we can get in touch anytime."
"Is this considered co-parenting?" Ryan asked,
Fiona nodded. "Co-parenting."
Ryan smiled helplessly. Fine, at least it was not a romantic relationship, so there was no need to worry about future arguments or breakups over the kitten's custody.
"So, if both of us are busy, where do you plan to take the cat?" Ryan William asked,
Fiona thought for a moment. "My brother."
But thinking of Nolan's gloomy face and then looking at the poor little kitten, it seemed very incongruous. "Nolan can help take care of it!"
Nolan's apartment.
Nolan sneezed several times as he went upstairs.
Standing at the elevator door, Nolan felt uneasy and called Ethan.
"Is my sister asleep?"
"Hearing the word 'sister' from Mr. Cunningham's mouth is really ironic." Ethan didn't forget to mock Nolan.
"Ethan, I'm warning you, I'll find a way to make up for my mistakes. Don't add fuel to the fire in front of Jasmine. Don't forget you two are already divorced, and don't blame me for not agreeing to her marrying you." Nolan also threatened Ethan.
Everyone was about the same; no one should bully anyone.
Ethan coughed and spoke with a smile, "Nolan, it's late. You should be fine now."
"Jasmine said she forgave me. Is that true?" Nolan was uneasy, leaning in the smoking area and lighting a cigarette.
"Nolan, Jasmine was deeply hurt and abandoned six years ago. If you investigated, you should know she went to prison, had severe depression, and attempted suicide multiple times." Ethan's voice was low. "I don't ask you to do everything for her; I just hope you, as her brother, can be more patient with her."
