Chapter 918 Ethan Will Always Be Bradley's Family

Avery's Place

Edgar sat obediently beside Avery, massaging her calves while Lyanna hovered nearby, pouring water for her. The police had just left, and Rhett was likely still at the station with his swollen eyes.

"Could you two be any more dramatic?" Avery sighed, rubbing her temples.

"Avery, you're so badass! Need a girlfriend?" Lyanna was openly flirting now, competing with Edgar.

Avery leaned back on the sofa, speechless.

Edgar glared at Lyanna. "Am I invisible here?"

"Fair competition," Lyanna replied with surprising boldness.

"Fair? Take a look in the mirror and tell me how we're in the same league," Edgar retorted childishly.

"I will not!" Lyanna huffed.

Their bickering gave Avery a headache. "You're both so noisy."

They immediately fell silent. Avery was about to laugh when Edgar's phone rang—it was Edward.

"Come home. We need to discuss something," Edward said gravely.

Edgar frowned. "I'll be right there."

He kissed Avery's forehead before leaving. "Take care of yourself. Call me if you need anything."

"I'll protect Avery!" Lyanna exclaimed, barely containing her excitement.

Edgar shot her a warning look before departing.

Once alone with Avery, Lyanna wasted no time. "It's going to rain. I'm scared of thunder. Can we sleep together?"

"No thanks. I prefer sleeping alone," Avery replied, placing her hand on Lyanna's head.

"But I'm scared," Lyanna pouted.

"Aren't we rivals? Since when do rivals share a bed?" Avery asked.

"Rivals? I'm not interested in Edgar at all," Lyanna shook her head vigorously. "He seems tough, but he's actually childish, hot-tempered, and intimidating."

Avery teased, "Only I get to criticize my man, understood?"

"I'm tired. Get some rest," she added, checking the time before heading to bed.

Lyanna nodded obediently.

Sunshine Restaurant, Silverlight City

Brandon had invited everyone to dinner to introduce his partner.

"The lightning is frightening from up here," Jasmine said, sitting by the floor-to-ceiling windows of the high-rise restaurant.

Ethan held her hand. "Brandon insisted on this place."

"It's beautiful though," Jasmine smiled. "I never realized Brandon was so romantic. His partner must be lucky."

Brandon had been surprisingly attentive lately—picking up his partner after work and spending every possible moment together.

"I heard Brandon's bringing his partner to work as his personal assistant at the Raymond Group. Talk about being inseparable!" Jasmine remarked.

Ethan sighed, his mouth twitching.

"He even buys little cakes from that bakery near the office. So romantic!" Jasmine gushed.

"A cake is romantic? I'll buy you one every day starting tomorrow," Ethan promised.

"It is romantic! He bought flowers too," Jasmine said, snuggling against Ethan's arm.

The elevator doors opened, and Brandon emerged with someone tall following closely behind, face partially hidden in the dim lighting.

"Brandon! Over here!" Jasmine called, standing up.

Ethan, who could now see clearly, covered his face. This was exactly what he'd suspected.

"Sister-in..." Jasmine's greeting died in her throat as the pair approached. "Bradley? Um... Brandon, where's your wife?"

Brandon smiled, taking Bradley's hand.

Bradley kept his head down, mortified. He'd wanted to keep their relationship private, but Brandon insisted on making it public, claiming it would give Bradley security. Now he just wanted to disappear, worried about Ethan and Jasmine's reactions.

Jasmine hiccupped in shock. "Brandon's... orientation... you never told me," she whispered to Ethan.

"You think I knew? He kept it well hidden," Ethan replied grimly.

"Jasmine, this is my partner. We recently got married," Brandon announced, sitting down with Bradley.

Jasmine recovered quickly. "That's wonderful! We're already family, and now we're even closer."

Ethan maintained a cold demeanor. "When did this happen?" he asked sternly.

"I fell for him at first sight, though I didn't understand it then," Brandon admitted openly.

"Mr. Douglas, I—" Bradley began quietly, ready to take responsibility.

"You've got nerve, seducing my younger brother," Ethan cut in. "Did he threaten or force you? Don't be afraid of him. I'm here."

Bradley was stunned that Ethan still acknowledged Brandon as his brother.

"I... I pursued him first," Bradley admitted, blushing.

"It was me," Brandon squeezed Bradley's hand. "This is on me."

"I've known my orientation since I was eighteen," Bradley explained softly. "I told my mother, but she warned me never to tell anyone, especially Howard, or I'd be disowned."

Ethan fell silent.

Sensing the tension, Jasmine called for wine. "Let's celebrate this occasion!"

"If he ever mistreats you, tell me," Ethan finally said to Bradley. "I can still take him down. Besides, this has nothing to do with Howard. I'll always be your brother, your family."
