Chapter 250 Richard was Indeed Not May's Son.
Wilson messaged Ethan: [I'm busy with work, do you want to go back first?].
Ethan replied angrily: [You have to work overtime on your first day. Nolan is exploiting the employees.].
Wilson laughed and responded: [I'll finish up and take a taxi back.].
Ethan sent a cute expression: [I'll wait for you.].
Wilson was surprised that Ethan, who was usually so aloof, had so many cute expressions.
Wilson quickly replied: [I'm heading downstairs right away.].
She felt that Nolan's work was not as important as Ethan's and decided to go home on time.
"Wilson, you won't be able to finish today's work, you can't leave," Gary and Peter said as it was closing time.
"I refuse to work overtime." Wilson pushed the files away, ready to leave.
"What do you mean, Wilson?" Gary said angrily.
Wilson packed up her things. She wanted to quietly leave before Nolan came out.
She didn't want to work overtime.
"Where are you going?" Coincidentally, Nolan walked out of the office.
"Mr. Cunningham, she wants to leave without finishing her work," Gary said angrily.
"It's the designated closing time. You don't have the right to demand that I work overtime. Besides, I came here to help you, I only want to be responsible for project-related matters," Wilson said calmly. "Right?"
Nolan's face turned dark, and he glanced at Wilson. "Are you trying to negotiate with me now?"
"We have a working relationship." Wilson lowered her head, unwilling to look at Nolan.
"Mr. Cunningham, it's her first day at work. Someone without team spirit like her should not stay in the company," Gary said angrily.
"Mr. Cunningham, she's too arrogant," others chimed in.
"Are you sure you want to negotiate with me?" Nolan threatened, looking at Wilson.
Wilson furrowed her brow. "Mr. Cunningham, in my eyes, you are an impartial person. Before this, I thought you were capable of managing the company, but now I am a bit disappointed."
Letting out a sigh, Wilson spoke again. "For such a large company with so many departments, the project department is the most important core. As soon as I arrived, they made me work overtime. Leaving aside whether I should be doing the work that should have been theirs, do you think their behavior is beneficial to the company's development?"
Looking up, Wilson glared at Nolan, the sweat in her palms betraying her nervousness and fear.
This was her first brave step in facing authority, driven by the knowledge that she had Ethan by her side.
Nolan furrowed his brow, his voice low. "You, a person who goes against the family that raised you for twenty-one years for the sake of personal gain, dare to lecture me about management?"
Clearly, Nolan was still bothered by Wilson's intention to compete with the Wilson Family for the Westing project.
Wilson froze, gripping her fingers tight.
"When will you finish your work? And when will you leave?" Nolan clearly did not want Wilson to leave on time.
Wilson bit her lip, resentfully turning away.
"Ha, I thought you had some background, turns out you're just an ordinary person. You better finish these tasks properly," Gary said angrily.
"Cunningham Enterprises, such a large company, bullying a new employee. Haha." Ethan leaned against the glass door, staring at Nolan. "Nolan, you really lack moral character."
The Project Department often dealt with Stellar Enterprises, so they knew Ethan.
Gary looked at Ethan in astonishment. "Mr. Ethan Douglas?"
"How did my wife offend all of you? You made her work overtime." Ethan raised an eyebrow and walked over to embrace Wilson.
Everyone's mouths dropped in shock.
Wilson was Ethan's wife!
"Ethan, Wilson and I have a partnership," Nolan said. "Since she's working for me now, she must fully obey the company's management."
"Does your company stipulate that Wilson has to work overtime? Show me the regulations." Ethan reached out for the rules.
Nolan's face darkened. "Ethan, if she wants to help you, she has to..."
"Nolan, what are you doing?" Before Nolan could finish his sentence, Edgar rushed in.
"You want Wilson to work overtime? How can you be so heartless?" Edgar said angrily, standing in front of Wilson protectively.
Ethan raised an eyebrow; he was the one who called Edgar.
"What are you doing here? Get out," Nolan said in a low voice.
"No! I disagree with Wilson working overtime. What right do you have to make her do that?"
The other employees were stunned, they didn't know Edgar and Wilson had such a good relationship!
"Um, Mr. Cunningham, I'm sorry. We'll finish the work we should have done. We'll do it now," Gary nervously said, taking all the documents off the table. He was afraid of causing trouble by being late.
Wilson blinked and looked at Ethan, silently asking him what was going on.
Ethan raised an eyebrow at Wilson, indicating that she should just watch.
"Wilson is not feeling well, so I am taking her home." Ethan held Wilson's hand, prepared to leave.
"Nolan, what's your plan? Why are you interfering? Joe is looking after Wilson at her place. What's your intention?" Edgar confronted Nolan, refusing to yield an inch as he ushered him into the office.
While pushing Nolan, he called out to Wilson, "Wilson, go home and rest. I'll come over for dinner tomorrow; you're an excellent cook."
Wilson nodded anxiously.
Ethan led Wilson away.
"Nolan is a problematic person. But it seems like he is good to his siblings," Wilson said softly.
Ethan held Wilson's hand. "Let Edgar handle him. Let's go eat something delicious."
Wilson's eyes brightened. "What are we going to eat?"
"Shall we go for Korean food?" Ethan asked.
"Sure!" Wilson was very happy, truly content with Ethan.
At the appraisal center, Mitchell called Richard over. Meanwhile, the three children were gathered at Betty's place, enjoying her company immensely.
"You called me over voluntarily?" Richard asked nervously.
"Take a look." Mitchell handed the report to Richard. "I conducted two appraisals for you, and the results show that you are not May's son. You have no blood relation."
Richard was shocked as he looked at Mitchell.
How could this be? This couldn't be possible.
"It's not possible. She has been taking care of me since I can remember."
"Don't get worked up." Mitchell placed another appraisal result in Richard's hand. "Although you and May are not mother and son, you have a blood relation. That means she could be your aunt or cousin."
Richard was shocked, unable to recover for a long time, upon learning he was not May's biological child.
"But my mother, May, really did give birth to a child, a girl."
If Wilson was not his sister, then who could she be?
