Chapter 95 The Commercial Value on Jasmine

Ethan sat across from Howard, lazily leaning back on the sofa. "Yes."
"The situation with Daniel needs to be resolved quickly. Rumors are now spreading among the company's top management and board of directors. Daniel is your brother, a member of the Douglas family. We rise and fall together as a family," Howard reminded his son, cautioning him not to go too far.
"I can help Carmen, and I can help Daniel. I can even try and persuade Jasmine to drop everything," Ethan said with a negotiating tone as a smile spread across his face.
In the bedroom, as soon as Carmen heard Ethan offer his help, she perked up, stopped using the oxygen, put on her slippers, and rushed out. "Ethan, your brother..."
"I've tried various means. The Wilson family and you have pushed Jasmine too far. Besides marrying into the Douglas family for self-preservation, she has no other way out. So, it's clearly impossible to pressure Jasmine to drop the case through other means," Ethan laid out his negotiation openly.
"Ethan, why don't we just deceive her for now? You can agree first and get married to her in secret. After this matter is over, we can figure out how to deal with her." Carmen quickly coaxed Ethan.
"I can marry Jasmine," Ethan said nonchalantly.
Howard frowned. "No. Ethan's reputation also concerns the dignity of the Douglas family."
Ethan sneered. In Howard's eyes, the dignity of the Douglas family was more important than his own son.
"Howard!" Carmen was so anxious she began to sob. "We can temporarily appease Jasmine and just keep the marriage a secret, this marriage will not be known to anyone. Daniel is also your son. You can't be so biased. If he's convicted, if he goes to prison, his life will be ruined forever."
Howard raised his hand and rubbed his forehead, clearly feeling a headache coming on.
"I am willing to make the sacrifice. But when it comes to what belongs to me, shouldn't father also provide me with some assurance?" Ethan asked.
Carmen hesitated for a moment, realizing Ethan wouldn't easily compromise.
They waited for his response.
"As long as I get married, I can go to the notary office to claim my shares. The shares left by my grandfather and my mother, all belong to me. Father, do you have any objections to this?" Ethan looked at Howard.
"No!" Before Howard could speak, Carmen interjected. "It's not... Ethan, your grandfather has more than just you as a grandson. Daniel is also his grandson, so those shares definitely... definitely can't all go to you."
Ethan sneered and stood up. "Then there's nothing more to discuss. The company has regulations that any internal personnel with a criminal record, without any excuse, cannot participate in company management."
Carmen's face went pale, and she anxiously clenched her hands.
Ethan!!!
It was obvious that Ethan and Jasmine had teamed up to bring her son down.
Damn Jasmine!!!
Carmen could only temporarily compromise; she would clearly continue scheming behind the scenes. "Since Mr. Douglas Sr. left a will... I have no objections."
Howard glanced at Ethan.
At that moment, he truly realized that Ethan had grown up.
"I have no objections," Howard said.
"As for the shares in your hands, Father, whomever you want to give them to is none of my concern," Ethan disdainfully dismissed the idea of scheming for the shares in Howard's possession. If he felt it appropriate, he could give them all to Daniel.
As for whether they would continue to maintain this pitiful father-son relationship in the future, it would depend on Howard's actions.
Carmen gritted her teeth and clenched her hands.
‘No rush, the most important thing to do now was to get Daniel out. If Ethan were to die unexpectedly, or if they found some leverage against him, they could still fight for the shares.
Moreover, marrying Jasmine was a time bomb, a stain that Ethan would never be able to erase.’ Carmen ranted in her mind.
"Tomorrow, I will take Jasmine to the notary office. I hope you can come and be a witness, Father." Ethan straightened his tie and left.
He wasn't afraid at all of Carmen exposing his marriage to Jasmine because Howard was someone who highly valued the reputation of the Douglas family. He probably wished to bury this matter deep underground.
"Howard, look at Ethan. He has grown up. He no longer regards you highly and is openly fighting for the family's shares. Mr. Douglas Sr.'s shares clearly belong to Daniel; how can they all go to him?" Carmen cried with frustration, ingratiatingly approaching Howard.
Howard's face darkened. "Look at the son you've raised! Who Mr. Douglas Sr.'s shares go to are clearly stated in the will!"
Unwilling to accept defeat, Carmen lowered her head and clenched her hands tightly. She would never let Ethan have his way.

Ethan's residence.
Jasmine sat on the sofa, waiting for Ethan to return for a long time.
Since she was in an unfamiliar environment, she chose not to move around and could only lie down on the sofa to rest for a while.
Ethan returned home at ten o'clock in the evening. Upon arriving home, he found Jasmine already asleep on the sofa.
While looking at Jasmine on the sofa, Ethan paused for a moment and instinctively lightened his footsteps.
After tossing his suit jacket aside, Ethan loosened his tie.
He expected to feel uncomfortable with a stranger in his home, but after seeing Jasmine sleeping on the sofa, he surprisingly didn't show any signs of displeasure.
"Mr. Douglas!" Jasmine woke up, startled to see Ethan back, and quickly sat up, nervously raised her hand to fix her hair.
"Have you had dinner?" Ethan glanced at the time.
Jasmine shook her head.
Since Ethan wasn't coming back for dinner tonight, there was no chef coming in to cook.
Liam was in charge of arranging the chef's schedule.
Furrowing his brow, Ethan clearly disapproved of Liam's attitude.
"I... I made dinner. There are ingredients in the fridge. Mr. Douglas... if you don't mind, you can have some." Jasmine hurriedly got up and went to the kitchen to bring out the still-warm meal.
Ethan had already eaten dinner and was about to refuse, especially since he had an obsession with cleanliness. He wouldn't even eat food prepared by a chef other than his regular one.
But after remembering the delicious meal Jasmine had cooked for Henry in Boston, he inexplicably wanted to taste what she had made now.
Ethan stood up, walked into the dining room, and looked at the meal on the table.
It was all very simple home-cooked food. Unlike the Michelin-starred chefs he was used to, Jasmine's food seemed very plain but oddly warm.
After sitting down, Ethan picked up his fork and took a bite.
If Liam were here, he would probably be shocked.
Jasmine looked expectantly at Ethan. Although her cooking skills were not great, she had put effort into it.
Ethan glanced at Jasmine and, seeing the expectation in her eyes, subconsciously took a few more bites. "It tastes good."
"I... I washed everything and made sure it was all very clean." Jasmine held the bowl, smiling cautiously.
Ethan paused, fork still in his hand, and looked at Jasmine. "If you're willing, you can take care of the cooking, and I'll pay you separately."
Jasmine stood up quickly, waving her hands. "No, no need for payment. I can cook, and I will... learn more dishes. Really, you don’t need to pay me."
It was already enough.
Ethan didn't want to burden Jasmine too much and nodded. "Tomorrow, come with me to the notary office. Howard and Carmen will be there too. You don't have to worry, I'll be there."
