Chapter 383 Jasmine’s   Identity Exposure

Jasmine: [Ethan will choose me!]
Henry did not reply to Jasmine.
This time, Henry was gambling, not to show Jasmine but to satisfy himself.
In fact, Henry wanted to know what made Ethan different.

Bellagio Hotel.
Henry arranged to meet Ethan at the Bellagio Hotel.
"Where's Jasmine?" Henry looked at Ethan.
Ethan entered the private room and gave Henry a cold look. "Jasmine has her own life; you have no right to interfere."
"Ethan, do you think you love Jasmine more than I do?" Henry asked,
"It's not a feeling, it's a fact." Ethan was very confident.
Henry chuckled mockingly and didn't waste time with Ethan, getting straight to the point. "The SHC Group has acquired the project headquarters. Do you understand what that means?"
"It means that I need your approval to take over this project," Ethan replied, not naive.
"Take a look at this proposal," Henry explained Daniel and Annabelle's proposal to Ethan. "Daniel and Annabelle have bribed people in the project department, leaking your confidential information. They are essentially copying your work."
Ethan frowned, already having an idea, but he had a better backup plan.
"Ethan, you have no chance against the Douglas family in this battle," Henry explained to Ethan, "Setting aside our competition, I admire your abilities. Between you and Daniel, I can choose you."
Ethan staked his future on a gamble with the Everharts; failure wasn't an option. If he lost, he'd be doomed to lifelong servitude under the Everhart family. "Why not get straight to the point? We're all quite busy." Ethan glanced at the time. Edward said he must accompany Jasmine today; although he didn't know what Edward and Cordelia were up to, he still wanted to be with Jasmine as soon as possible.
"Give up on Jasmine; just tell her that you need some time apart." Henry looked at Ethan. "I'll help you, not just with the West Coast's new energy project; you know what else I can offer you."
Ethan looked at Henry. "Are you so confident that I will agree, even if you deliberately delay?"
Henry nodded. "Yes."
Everyone was a business person; it would be foolish not to agree to such a deal beforehand.
"That's the difference between you and me." Ethan smiled. "Whenever there's a conflict, your first thought is always to sacrifice Jasmine. Do you think that's love towards her?"
Henry furrowed his brows. "Isn't it? Just like you, if you don't agree to my demands, you'll lose the bet. If you lose the bet, you won't even be able to support yourself, let alone Jasmine. Do you want Jasmine to live a life of hardship with you forever, never able to hold her head up?"
To Henry, holding Jasmine in his arms meant he couldn't focus on making money.
Making money meant he wouldn't have free hands to embrace his loved one.
This society was very realistic and contradictory.
Love and luxury were reserved for the strong.
"What if Jasmine is willing to endure hardships with me?" Ethan stood up. "Henry, I don't want to waste any more time with you. Jasmine has firmly chosen me, and I won't let her down. No matter how many times you ask, my first choice will always be Jasmine! I love her because I have the ability to protect her and give her the life she desires."
Henry's downfall was Ethan's overwhelming confidence.
Ethan, from a young age, knew that relying on others was unreliable; only self-reliance mattered.
So, before doing anything, Ethan always made sure he had absolute confidence in himself.
This was why Ethan secretly supported the Crestwood Development Group, developed it, and founded it.
Ethan knew that one day, Howard would use shares to threaten him. Instead of passively taking hits, he preferred to be prepared, at least to face the enemy head-on, fair and square.
"Ethan." Henry chuckled somewhat helplessly. "You're truly crazy."
"Thanks for the compliment." Ethan glanced at the time. "I promised Jasmine to have dinner with her, so I'm sorry, I can't stay with you."
"Ethan," Henry lowered his head, his voice hoarse.
For a long time, Henry threw Daniel's proposal into the trash. "You win. Since you chose Jasmine and Jasmine chose you, I won't let Jasmine lose."
Henry didn't want to hurt Jasmine anymore.
Ethan paused, realizing that Henry was planning to cooperate with him.
"Even so, I won't thank you because in business cooperation, mutual benefit, you chose me, so naturally, I won't let you lose on the project." After Ethan finished speaking, he left.
Henry sat there for a long time.
Looking up at the ceiling, Henry smiled.
Henry probably understood why Jasmine had chosen Ethan so firmly.
Because Ethan was truly fearless.
He was not afraid of losing everything; his only fear was losing Jasmine.

Hotel room.
Annabelle's face turned pale, trembling all over. "Dad, Mom, I'm about to sign a contract with Willian for shares. Have my scandals been handled?"
Thomson and Amanda quickly reassured Annabelle. "Don't worry, everything has been taken care of. The Douglas family knows what today is; they won't randomly attack. Remember, you are the heiress of the Cunningham family; they dare not say anything to you. Once you get the shares of the Cunningham Group, you won't need to fear them anymore."
Even if the Douglas family got angry, so what?
"If Howard dares to say anything, I won't let him. His own son is incompetent, and he wants to blame my daughter?" Thomson said, very displeased, "Once you get the shares, they won't dare to speak against you."
Annabelle sighed in relief, nodding. "Dad, you're right."
Shares; Annabelle must get them first.
Annabelle was so angry now, hoping Willian wouldn't back out.

Hotel private room.
Willian sat opposite the conference table, looking very unhappy. "How did you raise your daughter!"
Cordelia leaned back in her chair. "She's grown up; her private life is her own business."
"How can I trust giving shares to Annabelle like this?" Willian seemed to want to back out.
Sophia felt nervous, silently cursing Annabelle for her foolishness, spreading such rumors at a critical moment.
"Regardless, you must sign the contract today," Cordelia warned Willian.
"Willian, Annabelle must be feeling sad now. She also didn't want this to come out. You should think about her as a father. What if she wants to commit suicide." Sophia's voice choked up. "Have you forgotten the year our daughter Evelyn almost overdosed on sleeping pills?"
Whenever their daughter Evelyn was mentioned, Willian couldn't hide his pain. "Sign!"
He reached out, grabbed Cordelia's contract, and signed it.
Annabelle pushed the door open and saw Willian signing; finally relieved, she walked over with a forced smile. "Mom."
Cordelia remained silent.
Annabelle assumed Cordelia was angry.
Willian finished signing all the contracts and handed them to Cordelia who glanced at them and asked Willian to leave his fingerprint.

Willian reluctantly left his fingerprint.
"You can let our daughter sign now!" Willian looked at Annabelle.
Annabelle hurried forward, wanting to take the pen from the table.
But Cordelia took it away and glanced at Edward standing at the door. "Edward, call your sister in to sign the contract."
Edward raised an eyebrow. "Sure, Mom."
Then, Edward opened the door and looked at Jasmine standing outside. "Jasmine, come in."
