Chapter 268 Daniel and Henry Join Forces Against Ethan
Boston.
Henry looked gloomy as he looked at the materials in his hand. "You still haven't found out?"
The president of Crestwood Development Group was indeed quite mysterious, never appearing in any public occasions. Some speculated that he might be related to the Burton family of Silverlight City, but I don't think the Burton family has such ability. The assistant whispered an explanation.
"You keep investigating! Crestwood Development Group is constantly against the SHC Group, it's obviously intentional!" Henry realized that someone was deliberately trying to hold him back, to make him stay in Boston.
Who would benefit from doing that? Only Ethan.
"Wait, go check if there is any connection between Crestwood Development Group and Ethan." Henry frowned, feeling somewhat worried for no reason.
"All right, Mr. Patrick."
Throwing the documents in his hand, Henry leaned back in his chair.
Since Wilson and Ethan got together, she had never made any contact with him on her own.
He had thought that Wilson would come to him when she was at a loss, but he didn't expect Ethan to suddenly appear.
His phone suddenly rang.
Henry picked up his phone and saw that the caller was Daniel.
"What's up?" Henry's voice was indifferent.
"Do you know about Annabelle being the heiress of the Cunningham family?" Daniel asked.
Henry smirked meaningfully.
He was very doubtful about the authenticity of this matter.
"Annabelle and I are getting engaged. Tomorrow, the head of the Cunningham family, William, will return to Silverlight City. The family banquet will announce our engagement. Annabelle wants to get married as soon as possible, so I invite you to attend the wedding." Daniel's voice was flat, with no trace of joy at all.
He seemed like a walking corpse.
"Daniel, you're really lucky to marry the Cunningham family's heiress." Henry deliberately mocked Daniel.
Daniel didn't say anything.
"You called me, it's not just to inform me about the wedding, right?" Henry asked Daniel to clarify his purpose.
"You said you would help me. Now, Ethan has offended the Cunningham family. My father wants to sue him and regain part of the shares. By then, I need you to help me obtain Stellar Enterprises and gain recognition from the board of directors." Daniel knew that, by himself, even if he obtained more shares than Ethan, it would be difficult to gain recognition from the board of directors.
As the president of SHC Group, with the support of Cunningham Enterprises, Henry was able to secure Ethan's current position.
Henry was determined to make Ethan pay for taking Wilson away from him.
He wanted to take everything away from Ethan.
He didn't believe Wilson would stay with Ethan once he had nothing left.
"You easily agreed to marry Annabelle, but you used to love Wilson," Henry's voice was filled with irony.
"I want Ethan to have nothing. We have to ensure he can never turn the tables," Daniel reminded Henry, kicking him out was just the first step.
He wanted to make it impossible for Ethan to ever fight back, that was the most crucial part.
"When that happens, Wilson will lose her support and come to rely on you," Daniel's voice was low.
Henry narrowed his eyes, to be honest, he was intrigued.
"Then it depends on whether Howard is willing to go hard on Ethan." Henry agreed.
"Mr. Patrick, just wait for good news."
At Cunningham Enterprises.
Wilson returned from the project department of Westing, in a very good mood.
"We'll be bidding tomorrow, what do you have to win against the Wilson Family?" Nolan walked past Wilson and snorted.
Wilson's smile instantly disappeared from her face. She looked at Nolan's back and mimicked his icy demeanor by snorting as well.
Her mood always turned bad when she saw Nolan.
Wilson changed the project details. She packed up her things and prepared to leave work.
"Wilson, I heard your salary is very high, are you friends with Mr. Douglas and Mr. Cunningham? Why don't you treat us to a meal after work?"
"Yeah, Wilson, with such a high salary, why not treat us to a meal? Money shouldn't be an issue for you."
Wilson pushed her black-framed glasses and lowered her head without saying a word.
"Wilson, you have to be sociable. Since we'll be colleagues in the future, we should all get along harmoniously. When we all started working here, we treated each other to a meal. Although you're a newcomer, you have the highest salary, even higher than Gary's. Why don't you treat us to a meal?"
Wilson took a deep breath and stood up with her cellphone. "I'm sorry. My husband is picking me up from work, so I have to leave. Maybe next time."
She didn't hadn't even received her salary yet. Moreover, even if she did, she wouldn't be able to afford to treat so many people to a meal.
If they all went out for a meal together, she would have to spend over two thousand dollars.
She needed to save money to support Ethan.
"Wilson, you're too stingy, with such a high salary."
Wilson bit her lip and saw Nolan coming out of the office with a dark face, so she called out, "Mr. Cunningham! Everyone feels very tired, and as the boss making so much money, you should treat everyone to a meal."
Nolan frowned, stopped in his tracks, and glanced at those people.
Those people turned their heads and busied themselves with work.
Wilson smiled and walked away with her phone in hand.
"Wilson, are you leaving work so early?" Gary said. He deliberately mentioned that Wilson was leaving on time in front of Nolan.
"It's already time to leave, why aren't you leaving? You've been looking at your phones during work hours, haven't you been working properly? It's already after work hours, but you haven't finished your work. Your work efficiency is wasting the company's electricity." Wilson naively remarked, glancing at Nolan with regret. "Mr. Cunningham, the company's monthly electricity bill must be tens of thousands of dollars, right?"
Nolan leaned against the glass frame, looking at Wilson's innocent and blunt remarks, feeling like laughing for no reason.
"Mr. Cunningham, we haven't been playing with our phones," several employees said nervously.
Nolan remained silent, exuding an aura of aloofness.
"You haven't been playing with your phones, but you haven't finished your work on time. Your work efficiency is too poor," Wilson shook her head. "Mr. Cunningham, I've finished my work. Goodbye."
Nolan hummed in response. He thought Wilson was cute, but he reminded himself that she was deliberately seeking his attention, she was too calculating. "You better finish your work. If you can't complete tomorrow's project, I'll deduct your entire salary!"
Wilson became angry.
Wilson turned around, unwilling to interact with Nolan.
Seeing Wilson enter the elevator without speaking to him, Nolan angrily followed her. "What's with this attitude of yours? What is this attitude of yours?"
Wilson ignored Nolan.
If she can't handle him, canIsn't she able tojust avoid him if she can't handle him?
"Look at how you are now." Nolan challenged her.
Wilson still didn't pay attention to him.
Over the years, Wilson had become adept at ignoring others. In these years, Wilson's specialty was ignoring others.
No matter what Nolan said or how he attacked her, she didn't respond and pretended not to hear.
"Don't you hear me talking?" Nolan angrily asked.
Wilson's eyes turned red, she turned back to look at Nolan. "Mr. Cunningham, my left ear is injured, I can't hear. I'm sorry, you're standing on my left side, I can't hear you."
After saying that, Wilson squeezed out some tears.
When Wilson walked out of the elevator, Nolan was still standing there, stunned.
What did he just do?
She couldn't hear from her left ear.
He had really crossed the line this time.
Wilson ran out of the company, wiped her tears, and snorted angrily as she happily ran towards Ethan's car.
