Chapter 830 Nolan, Don't Lie to Me Again
Sunrise City.
The Cunningham family thought Nolan had cancer, so they didn't dare to tell him about Jasmine's accident and kept it from him and Cordelia.
As a result, Nolan still had the mood to weed the garden.
"Nolan, a new B&B opened across the street. They're renovating now. I heard it's themed rooms, and they're doing a live stream with a lot of internet celebrities. It's packed over there," an employee ran in and told Nolan about the B&B across the street.
Nolan responded with a hum. "Quite clever."
"They're live streaming and badmouthing us, saying the nearby B&Bs are small and shabby, and the landlady has a messy private life," the employee whispered.
Nolan frowned. It's fine to do their own business, but spreading rumors about Amelia was a bit dirty.
"Hey," Just as the employee finished speaking, Arabella arrived, wearing a tank top and shorts, with a hot figure and exquisite makeup.
Nolan ignored her and continued weeding.
"Handsome, how much is Amelia paying you? I'll pay you double. Come work for us?" Arabella walked up to Nolan. "Do you have a girlfriend?"
"I'm talking to you." Seeing Nolan ignore her, she felt a bit embarrassed.
At the door were Arabella's internet-famous friends, all dressed flamboyantly, mocking Arabella. "Arabella, is this the handsome guy you mentioned? Is this the level of your taste now? You can't even get him now?"
They laughed at Nolan's attire, thinking he was just a poor loser.
What's the use of being handsome if he looked so poor? "Does he have a hundred dollars on him in total?"
"Arabella, you have millions of followers online. You don't need to find a poor guy, right?" One of her friends said.
Arabella looked at them. "What do you know?"
Then she turned back to Nolan. "Let's get to know each other and have a meal together?"
Nolan pointed to the flowers on the ground. "You're stepping on the flowers, move aside."
Arabella felt a bit awkward and took a step back, feeling that Nolan was being ungrateful. "I genuinely want to be friends with you."
"He won't go." Just as Nolan was about to say something, Amelia's voice came over, filled with anger.
Nolan raised an eyebrow, thinking Amelia finally came out.
"He's just working for you, not sold to you, right?" Arabella looked at Amelia and sneered.
"He's my husband," Amelia said angrily, hands on her hips, looking quite imposing.
Nolan didn't expect Amelia to admit his identity, feeling ecstatic but not daring to show it. He pretended to be calm and walked over. "Why aren't you sleeping?"
Amelia had been very sleepy lately, and he had just coaxed her to take a nap.
"I was woken up by her," Amelia said angrily, pointing at Arabella. "You just attract women. Why can't you be behave."
Nolan felt wronged and coaxed Amelia. "I'm sorry. I'll accompany you to sleep, okay?"
Amelia thought for a moment and turned around. "Come in and sleep."
Once Amelia agreed, Nolan's lips curled up. He was quite good at dealing with Amelia.
As they entered the house, Nolan turned back and gave Arabella a cold look. "During your live stream, you deliberately spoke ill of my wife. This is the first instance, and I will not tolerate a recurrence."
Nolan's aura was so strong that Arabella didn't react for a while.
He has a wife? Amelia is his wife?
Arabella laughed.
A few friends walked up to Arabella. "You fancy a married man?"
Arabella sneered. "So what if he's married? I must have him."
"Are you crazy, Arabella? That guy is very poor, right?" the friend was puzzled.
Arabella turned and left. "Do you know who he is?"
"Who?"
Arabella didn't say anything. She certainly couldn't reveal Nolan's identity to these people.
Nolan disguised himself well, thinking no one in Sunrise City knew him. Unfortunately, Arabella happened to recognize him.
Previously, at a charity gala, Arabella had gone to great lengths to get in and had seen Nolan, the high and mighty president of the Cunningham Group, someone she couldn't even get close to.
At first, she didn't believe the news that Nolan was at a B&B in Sunrise City. But when she came to check it out and saw Nolan, who had changed a lot since the charity gala, darker and seemingly thinner, she didn't dare to recognize him at first, thinking it was a mistake.
But recently, she had found out that the president of the Cunningham Group had been replaced by the second child of the Cunningham family, Edward.
Arabella became even more convinced that the person at the B&B was Nolan.
So she was absolutely not going to give up.
Room.
Amelia reluctantly lay on the bed, feeling very hot.
She was almost five months pregnant, and although her belly wasn't very big, she felt uncomfortable all over.
Nolan followed her in and went into the bathroom. "I'll take a shower first."
"Get out," Amelia told Nolan to get lost.
"Didn't you ask me to accompany you?" Nolan asked.
Amelia snorted. "I said that on purpose for those women to hear. Look at the way they look at you, like they want to eat you up."
Nolan chuckled. "My room's bathroom doesn't have a shower. It's not convenient to go outside now. I'll take a shower here."
Amelia wanted to refuse, but Nolan had already started undressing.
He didn't care about Amelia at all and stripped naked in front of her.
"Nolan, can you have some decency?" Amelia was so angry her voice trembled, and her ears burned.
"We're a couple, legally," Nolan said seriously, swaggering into the bathroom.
Amelia angrily threw all of Nolan's clothes out the door.
When Nolan finished his shower and came out wrapped in a towel, he saw Amelia sitting on the bed, puffing with anger, and his clothes were gone. "Oh, without clothes, I can only sleep here."
Amelia got even angrier. "How dare you..."
Before she could finish, Nolan shamelessly pulled her into his arms. "Be good, you didn't sleep well last night. Sleep a bit more."
Amelia instinctively resisted, but thinking he was dying, her anger seemed to subside all at once.
Why argue with him who's about to die?
"Nolan, apologize to me," Amelia's voice choked up.
'As long as you apologize, I'll temporarily forgive you.' She thought.
Nolan's arms stiffened for a moment, then slowly tightened, his voice hoarse. "Amelia, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I really regret it."
Amelia snorted, secretly wiping her tears. "I won't forgive you so easily."
"Don't forgive me, Amelia. Let me atone for my sins," Nolan's hand gently soothed Amelia's belly, his breath hot.
Don't forgive him, he didn't deserve it.
He just wanted to atone properly.
A year later, whether Amelia agreed to be with him or not, he probably wouldn't be able to move on for the rest of his life.
He loved her, but he realized it too late.
Amelia curled up. "Even if you know this child isn't yours, will you still continue?"
"It's my fault." Originally, the child in her belly should have been Nolan's, but he had caused her to miscarry.
He brought it on himself.
"I hate you," Amelia choked out, then fell asleep.
She was so tired, being pregnant was really hard.
Maybe it was because of the pregnancy, she seemed to crave the Nolan's presence more.
"I'm sorry," Nolan whispered, holding Amelia tighter.
"Don't lie to me again, or I'll hate you," Amelia mumbled in her sleep.
