Chapter 292 Wilson and Ethan Encounter a Car Accident

At Starlight Diner.

Edward was waiting for Ethan in the lobby.

"Sir, please have some water." The girl who came to deliver the ice water looked very young, probably a college student working part-time.

She was beautiful, with big eyes and no makeup, but exuded a non-worldly temperament.

It had to be admitted that Starlight Diner had a good eye for hiring people.

The girl accidentally spilled the water on Edward when she was placing it in front of him.

"Sir, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." The girl was frightened and stood up in panic, trying to help Edward wipe it off with tissue paper.

Whether she did it intentionally or was really nervous, her actions and the parts she wiped were too sensitive.

"Get out," Edward furrowed his brows, his voice ice-cold.

If it were someone like Edgar, who was always pursuing affairs, he would have already become friends with the girl on Facebook.

But Edward was obviously not that kind of person.

If this girl was trying to seduce Edward intentionally, then she had chosen the wrong person.

"I'm sorry, sir. Please don't let the manager fire me, I really need this job. I'm sorry," the girl's eyes turned red, her voice choked with tears.

"Get out," Edward became somewhat displeased.

This restaurant belonged to Cordelia, and she had strict requirements for her employees.

Incidents like today were absolutely not allowed, strictly speaking.

The girl who brought the ice water wanted to say something, but she saw Edward's firm attitude and could only leave with red eyes.

After a while, the manager came in nervously. "Young Master, this is my fault. Luna is very smart and agile. Her training and assessment were top-notch. I didn't expect her to make such a mistake."

Edward didn't intend to hold it against her. "Just be more careful in the future."

"Okay, Mr. Edward. Luna is a junior in college. Her family is poor, and her mother won't give her the tuition fees. She is just here to earn some money for school. I also feel sorry for her. If you could deduct some of her salary, please don't fire her," the manager pleaded for Luna.

"Just tell her to be more careful. There's no need to deduct her salary, but if this kind of mistake happens again, think about how to handle it," Edward looked at the time, Ethan was already ten minutes late.

Knowing Ethan well, he was definitely not the type to be late.

And today, he was looking for him to talk about Wilson.

Edward called Ethan, but he didn't pick up.

Edward had a bad feeling.

"Brother, did Wilson go to work?" Edward called Nolan again.

"I just received a call. Wilson got into a car accident. She's not injured, but Ethan injured his forehead protecting her. It's not a big deal, what's wrong?" Nolan didn't think too much, thinking it was just a normal accident.

Edward's face turned pale, he didn't respond to Nolan's words and hung up the phone directly.

He was a little worried, so he got up and left the tea room.

He should go find Ethan himself.

Outside Starlight Diner.

Edward left, and Luna, who was hiding in the restroom, carefully glanced around, tightened her grip on her phone, and made a call. "Auntie, he came alone, didn't see anyone else, yes, only him, that's right."

At Silverlight City Hospital.

Wilson looked at Ethan's forehead, her eyes were red with anger. "That car clearly targeted us."

Ethan was taking the subway to send Wilson to work when a car deliberately drove toward them after they got off the subway.

Fortunately, Ethan reacted quickly and held Wilson in his arms.

"That person did it on purpose." Ethan's voice was cold.

He had already asked Mitchell to investigate.

This was a dangerous sign, someone wanted to cause trouble for him, or for Wilson.

"Could it be Mrs. Douglas and Daniel's people? Even though they have kicked you out of Stellar Enterprises, they are still wary of you," Wilson expressed some concern, knowing how insane Mrs. Douglas and her people were.

As long as Ethan is alive, they will never sleep well.

"It's hard to say," Ethan couldn't say for sure if they were after him or Wilson.

"Well, regardless, these people have gone insane," Wilson bit his lip.

If Ethan hadn't been protecting her during the sudden incident, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Ethan held Wilson's hand. "Don't be afraid, I'll pick you up for work and take you home. If you don't want to work, it's okay."

Wilson shook her head. "I still want to work, you just have to be careful. Mrs. Douglas will definitely try to harm you."

Ethan nodded.

After he took care of his injuries, he took Wilson out of the hospital.

Mitchell came to pick them up in his car. "Get in."

"Any leads?" Ethan asked.

"The other party is very professional. They only want money and we have no idea who they are. They took cash and the intention was to hit you, and there's insurance to cover it," Mitchell said softly. "Both of you are being watched."

"Are you sure it's us and not just Wilson?" Ethan looked at Mitchell.

It didn't matter if Mrs. Douglas wanted to cause trouble for him, after all, Mrs. Douglas was now in the public eye.

What Ethan was worried about was someone targeting Wilson.

"That person wouldn't say, but the police found a photo of Wilson in his car," Mitchell whispered.

He was afraid that Wilson would be scared if she heard.

There was no doubt that this was aimed at Wilson.

Ethan frowned, his face looking extremely unpleasant.

Indeed, this matter was aimed at Wilson.

Mitchell glanced at Wilson in the rearview mirror, and her face was already pale.

"Keep investigating, find out who it is," Ethan was angry.

Mitchell could tell that Ethan was very angry now, and the consequences would be severe.

"Ethan, how about we take Wilson to the company first?" Mitchell suggested, not wanting to scare Wilson and thinking it would be better to find out more details first.

"It's okay, she should know, she needs to know that someone is after her, so she can stay vigilant," Ethan wouldn't hide it from Wilson; she needed to be on high alert at all times.

Wilson nodded and held Ethan's hand.

Actually, knowing that those people were after her, Wilson felt relieved.
At least they weren't here for Ethan.

In the Cunningham Family.

Ethan breathed a sigh of relief after dropping Wilson off at the company.

"I found something interesting." Mitchell tossed the tablet to Ethan.

Ethan looked at it, furrowing his brows.

On the tablet was a photo of a woman who looked quite beautiful.

"What does this mean?" Ethan asked.

"It's the daughter that Sophia and Willian raised." Mitchell pointed to the photo. "Don't you find her familiar?"

"The Cunningham Family's illegitimate daughter?" Ethan replied nonchalantly.

"Yes, the Cunningham Family's illegitimate daughter. When the scandal about Wilson's true identity was a hot topic, she had already debuted as a trainee in Country H. She came back to Silverlight City a year ago and has been developing in the domestic entertainment industry since then but without much fame."

"Her name is Evelyn, she's a decent actress, but her resources are limited. It seems like Sophia doesn't want her daughter to be in the spotlight, but Evelyn hasn't listened to her."

Evelyn had a very low presence in the entertainment industry, so it was no wonder Ethan had no impression of her.

If it weren't for Mitchell's investigation, he wouldn't have known about her.
"Evelyn, Sophia's daughter."

According to Sophia's ambition, she wouldn't want her daughter to develop in the entertainment industry.

This Evelyn seems somewhat rebellious.
