Chapter 412 Three Bad Women Doing Bad Things

Karen sneered. "I don't need to collaborate with anyone."

"Mrs. Wilson, you're very confident in yourself." Sophia smiled as she sat down. "You think that just because you gave birth to Alex's son and Benjamin's daughter, you can succeed."

Karen frowned, a bit displeased. "At least I'm a bit stronger than you."

"You've been with Willian for many years, yet you didn't marry him, nor did you give him a son. Your daughter didn't get any shares of the Cunningham Group, only living expenses, which isn't very meaningful." Karen sarcastically smiled.

Sophia's face turned sour, but she restrained her displeasure and smiled. "It's a pity your biological daughter hasn't been found yet, and Benjamin's shares aren't guaranteed, especially since Evan isn't his biological son."

Sophia tapped the table and spoke again, "As for Alex, his relationship with Evelina is very deep. I've seen it myself. There's no gap between them. As long as Evelina disagrees, Alex's shares won't go to Evan."

Karen looked at Sophia with a dark expression.

Sophia was stating facts.

Some matters could be very sensitive and crucial. A small mistake or error could lead to the complete failure of the entire plan or effort, so they needed to be handled with extra care and caution.

That was why Karen, knowing that Benjamin could no longer return to the family, placed all her hopes on Alex.

But Karen was also clearly aware that Evelina was an uncertainty with Alex.

Therefore, for Karen to secure Alex's assets, she had to deal with Evelina.

And Evelina was hard to deal with.

"You probably don't know. Evelina and Cordelia are very good friends. Evelina has been in Silverlight City for a while, staying at Cordelia's place. The two of them have agreed to go against you, and you definitely can't win," Sophia spoke again.

Karen fell silent and stopped talking.

"Both of you are formidable figures. If we join forces, we can achieve the greatest benefits." Annabelle smiled, trying to calm Karen.

"I want the shares of the Douglas family, you want those of the Everhart family and the Wilson family, and Sophia wants the shares of the Cunningham family. We have no conflict of interest, and cooperation is the only way to win." Annabelle smiled as she poured Karen a cup of coffee.

Karen took the coffee and glanced at Sophia. "How confident are you in dealing with Cordelia and Evelina?"

"A woman needs to capture a man's heart to succeed. We'll take it step by step. First, we need to find a way to get Evelina and Alex to divorce and have Alex acknowledge your son. That way, we can ensure everything goes smoothly." Sophia smiled and shared her plan.

After all, she wanted Cordelia's life, while Karen only needed Evelina and Alex to divorce.

"The three of us working together will definitely win," Annabelle smiled and spoke again, "Here's some good news: Howard's health is deteriorating. He had a heart attack and a stent placed; he doesn't have many years left. Arnold Sanders, who owns the Sanders Group in Country M, has returned back and plans to collaborate with the Douglas Group."

Sophia was stunned for a moment. "Arnold, I've only heard of him, never seen him. He's said to be very mysterious, rarely appearing in public, and there's no image of him online."

Sophia had investigated Arnold, as the Sanders Group and the Cunningham Group had always been competitors.

"Yes, Arnold is very low-key, never appearing in public because he hates flattery and doesn't like crowded places. So, many things are handled by his assistant."

Annabelle nodded and spoke again, "As long as Arnold collaborates with us, dealing with the Cunningham Group and Cordelia will be easy."

"It seems we have a good chance of success." Sophia also smiled. With Arnold's involvement, dealing with Cordelia would indeed be much easier.

"If you get the chance, could you introduce me to this Arnold?" Sophia was very interested in Arnold. Willian was now useless, but Arnold was not. Arnold was the direct majority shareholder of the Sanders Group, holding 56% of the shares, making him the absolute authority. Moreover, Arnold seemed to have never been married.

She had even had people investigate Arnold and had gone to great lengths to please Willian, hoping he would take her to various parties to meet Arnold. But every time, she missed him perfectly.

"Arnold will attend next month's charity auction. He wants to enter the market in Silverlight City, so he will definitely use this opportunity to meet people in Silverlight City and compete with the Cunningham Group for resources." Annabelle smiled. "I'll make sure to introduce you to Arnold then."

Sophia smiled and nodded. "Good."

At Ethan's place.

Jasmine woke up at eleven o'clock the next day. She rarely felt this exhausted, with her arms and legs aching badly. She moved her arm and groaned.

"Jasmine, it's time to get up and eat," Ethan said, rubbing Jasmine's head.

"I'm not eating," Jasmine said, lying on the bed with a bit of a temper.

Ethan smiled. "I've already made lunch. Today, we have your favorite, Grilled Salmon."

Jasmine peeked at Ethan. "I cried last night, and you still continued."

"My bad, I... I'll do it again next time," Ethan said.

Jasmine didn't believe Ethan at all. She covered her head with the blanket. "You're not trustworthy anymore."

Ethan pulled Jasmine out of the blanket. "Howard is in the hospital. Even if it's just for the Douglas Group's higher-ups to see, I have to go."

Jasmine nodded. "Should I go with you?"

"Do you want to go?" Ethan was worried Jasmine wouldn't want to see Claire.

Jasmine thought for a moment and nodded. "I don't want to see them, but if I don't go, I'm afraid they'll bully you."

Jasmine wanted to protect Ethan. After all, Ethan now had nothing, having been kicked out of the Douglas family. During his startup period, he was looked down upon and bullied.

Ethan guiltily held Jasmine in his arms and placed her on his lap. "Jasmine, about the Crestwood Development Group..."

"If you hadn't mentioned the Crestwood Development Group, I almost forgot. Nolan asked me to sort out the cooperation project between the Cunningham Group and the Crestwood Development Group today. They need me to coordinate. I shouldn't have slept until now!"

Jasmine panicked, got out of bed, and ran barefoot to the study.

"Put on your shoes," Ethan said helplessly, chasing after her with slippers.

"No, I need to work first." Jasmine hurried to the study, turned on the computer, and started organizing documents.

Ethan leaned against the door frame. "Can you eat first?"

Jasmine shook her head. "In a moment, I need to send an email to Nolan first."

Ethan leaned against the door in silence for a long time. He couldn't explain the situation with Crestwood Development Group to Jasmine, so he decided to wait until they got their marriage certificate. Just in case she got angry and went back home, it would be hard for him to win her back with his abilities.

Although not very talkative, Nolan was very good to his family. Edward was extremely smart; he was the most imaginative member of the Cunningham family.

Ethan's phone rang. He glanced at it; it was Connor. Ethan squinted his eyes and got up to go to the living room.
