Chapter 61 Have Henry and Justin Do a Paternity Test
Jasmine paused, and her gaze flickered.
Ethan... searched for her all night? Really?
"No... it's okay; he's Daniel's brother," Jasmine instinctively looked away.
"I can see he's different from Daniel. He seems genuinely concerned about you. Otherwise, a powerful CEO like him wouldn't personally come to find you in the middle of the night. If he wanted to capture you, he wouldn't need to do it himself," Emily shook her head, feeling that Ethan had no ill intentions towards Jasmine.
"Emma, is there a package for me at home?" Jasmine changed the subject.
Emily could tell Jasmine didn't want to talk about this further and took out a small bag from her purse. "Here, sent by your brother."
Jasmine glanced at it and felt relieved. "Thank you."
"Jasmine, since you've decided to start anew, don't let the past hold you back. I once thought I couldn't move on, but once I did, things got better," Emily reassured Jasmine.
Jasmine nodded, clutching the item in her hand. They were Justin’s hair follicles. She needed Henry to do a paternity test with Justin as soon as possible.
She had to confirm if Henry was indeed Justin’s biological father.
"Your clothes..." Emily noticed something off about Jasmine's attire.
It was a high-end custom brand; it was unaffordable for most people because each piece cost tens of thousands.
"Mr. Patrick?" Emily guessed while looking at Jasmine with a shocked expression.
Emily then pulled Jasmine towards the restroom, "Jasmine, think this through. Like Ethan, Henry isn't someone women like us can handle. Do you know how many women Henry has had around him all these years? He..."
"He might be the father of my son," Jasmine said softly.
Emily gasped, biting her lip as she thought for a moment. "Henry has a woman named Melissa; she’s a celebrity. She's not someone to mess with. Be careful, there are no secrets in this world."
"However, Melissa isn't the most critical issue. Have you heard that the Patrick Family and the Brown Family in Silverlight City might be forming an alliance? The Brown Family has been promoting this for a while; it seems like a done deal," Emily felt sorry for Jasmine.
She couldn't believe that these wealthy people truly liked Jasmine.
These big shots would never care for a woman who had been to prison and had a child.
Jasmine stared blankly at Emily, "The Brown Family?"
Jasmine almost instinctively began to tremble once she heard the name Brown.
Zelda, the woman who had led the bullying against her back then, and the one who had publicly humiliated and tormented her the most after her false identity as a rich girl was exposed, was from the Brown Family.
"Jasmine?"
Chloe's voice rang out from outside the restroom.
Jasmine composed herself and nervously walked out.
"Mr. Patrick... Mr. Patrick is here for you."
Jasmine's heart tightened, and she walked towards the reception with her head down.
When Henry arrived at the club, the club's manager sprinted almost a hundred meters to greet him, as a show of respect.
"Mr. Patrick, what brings you here?" The manager asked, wondering about the purpose of this visit.
Ignoring the manager, Henry glanced at Jasmine and handed her breakfast. "Remember to eat."
Everyone, including Jasmine herself, was shocked.
Henry was clearly intentionally being thoughtful.
Everyone was puzzled, not understanding why Mr. Patrick, this early in the morning, would personally deliver breakfast to a receptionist.
Over the years, Henry had been involved in quite a few scandals. The only person he had been associated with for the longest time was the rising star Melissa, yet even so, he had never visited her set or brought her food.
Given Jasmine's status, a woman with no education who was a mere receptionist at the club, shouldn't she keep a low profile? Wouldn't it be better to hide her away? Why did Henry seem so okay with everyone witnessing this?
Emily, standing by, looked at Jasmine with some concern.
She didn’t want to get caught in the crosshairs, but this clearly was not a good situation.
"Jasmine..."
After handing Jasmine breakfast, Henry left.
Emily pulled Jasmine aside amidst the surprised looks of the others. "What are you thinking?"
Jasmine remained silent.
Henry's actions had essentially exposed that she was in a relationship with Mr. Patrick, pushing her to the edge of the cliff.
With no way out behind her, the only way for her to survive was to hold on tight to Henry, the big tree.
"He's pressuring me." How could Jasmine not see through what Henry wanted?
He was forcing her into a corner, making her realize that only he could be her support and that she should rely solely on him.
Emily sighed and hugged Jasmine. "These wealthy people really aren’t good people, every single one of them."
"Jasmine, you and Mr. Patrick..." The manager approached with a fawning expression.
Even Chloe looked at Jasmine in shock.
Jasmine didn't know how to explain, so she remained silent with her head down.
"Jasmine and Mr. Patrick are old acquaintances," Emily hastily explained. "How long will Mr. Patrick's interest in her last?"
The manager nodded. "But Mr. Patrick taking an interest in Jasmine is a blessing, and a blessing for the club as well.."
The manager was clearly trying to get Jasmine to talk about Henry.
However, Jasmine stayed silent, standing at the receptionist's desk with her head down.
Not long after Henry left, Ben arrived, saying the manager had approved leave for her to go for a check-up.
"Miss Wilson, I’m sorry... This is how Mr. Patrick normally operates," Ben was somewhat hesitant, as medical check-ups were quite disrespectful, but this was how for Mr. Patrick treated women. He even required this when he chose to sponsor rising stars, so he didn't say much.
"It's okay," Jasmine shook her head.
"The results from the medical center will be out soon, and I'll take you to the company to see Mr. Patrick," Ben felt like Henry was a bit anxious; he was overly eager to keep Jasmine by his side.
"Okay..." Jasmine agreed.
She also needed to have Henry to do a paternity test as soon as possible.
After leaving the medical center, Ben handed Jasmine a bottle of mineral water.
Jasmine took it and said thank you.
"Miss Wilson... there's something I shouldn't say, but I feel you should be prepared. Mr. Patrick... he won't marry you," Ben had followed Henry for six years, so he knew Henry too well.
He separated marriage, and his emotions very clearly. He wouldn't marry early, but if he did, it would definitely be a transaction.
Ben said it tactfully to make Jasmine think it through. He hoped she wouldn’t get emotionally invested in their relationship; otherwise, she would definitely end up very miserable.
Jasmine nodded, and after receiving the medical report, she followed Ben to SHC Group.
"Mr. Patrick, Miss Wilson is here."
Henry stood up and glanced at Jasmine. "Have you had breakfast?"
Jasmine nodded.
"Take a look at the contract," Henry asked Jasmine to review the contract.
Jasmine shook her head. "No need..."
She didn't care about the contract's contents.
After taking out Justin's hair from her pocket, Jasmine looked at Henry. "I want... you to do a paternity test."
Then, Jasmine placed the medical report on the table. "Apart from that one night, no man... has touched me, so..."
Jasmine lowered her head as her face turned a deep red.
But it wasn't out of shyness or difficulty in speaking.
"So, if that night was with you, please let me know the results as soon as possible..." She didn't need Henry to take responsibility; Henry just needed to cooperate with the medical examination, nothing else.
Justin was an accident, but he was innocent.
Henry took Justin's hair and sat on the sofa. "If I'm not Justin's biological father, what do you plan to do?"
Jasmine looked up at Henry. "Continue searching..."
Henry's face darkened for a moment. Jasmine's current compromise was entirely for the child; it seemed like she was negotiating a business deal with him.
