Chapter 358 Connor Came up with Another Idea for Annabelle

That night, Ethan had a dream.

He dreamed that he had returned many years ago.

That year, Jasmine had just graduated from high school.

That summer, she was still shining like a bright pearl.

That year, she was still the pride of heaven, excelling in her studies, a genius girl envied by everyone.

That year, her eyes still sparkled with confidence.

"Ethan, hello, this is my girlfriend," Daniel said.

Still at the Douglas family, they met for the first time.

He stood still, looking very unhappy.

Even in his dream, he couldn't suppress the urge to punch Daniel.

When Daniel proudly and boastfully introduced his girlfriend to him years ago, his tone was full of pride and show-off, thinking, ' This is my girlfriend. Impressive, right? Even though you are inferior to me, my girlfriend must be better than yours.'

Daniel was showing off, and he had once used Jasmine as a means of showing off.

Jasmine said, "Ethan, hello, I'm Jasmine." At that time, she was cheerful but actually shy.

When she greeted him, she seemed so awkward.

He looked at her, reached out to her, and said with a smile, "I'm Ethan."

She was taken aback, probably not expecting him to be so approachable.

Seeing them shake hands, Daniel felt a bit jealous and reached out to pull her into his arms.

He said, "Ethan, come wash up and have dinner together."

Ethan didn't say anything, but his gaze was always on Jasmine, intense and possessive.

"Stay away from him. He's scary," Daniel muttered to Jasmine in a low voice.

She turned to him, feeling a strange sense of familiarity.

She thought, 'Why does seeing him standing there all alone make me feel sorry for him?'

Since his mother passed away, Carmen, as his father's mistress, took the opportunity to bring Daniel and Lisa into the Douglas family, making him feel like he didn't belong there.

She took the initiative to bring fruit and asked, "Ethan, do you eat fruit?"

He sat on the sofa, glanced at her, and asked, "Why did you choose Daniel?"

"Daniel is a good person and treats me well," she explained, feeling a bit shy.

"Then you must be blind," he said with a smile, worrying he might scare her.

"Look at me. I'm much better than Daniel. Break up with him and be with me," he said.

She was shocked, looking at him with horror.

Why did he say that?

She hadn't eaten well all night, then made up an excuse about something at home and left early.

His gaze was too aggressive as if he wanted to devour her.

He said, "Jasmine, I'll drive you home."

At the entrance of the Douglas family, he drove out to take her home.

Jasmine  quickly waved her hand and said, "No, it's okay."

He frowned and said with warning in a deep voice, "Get in the car."

It worked, and she inexplicably got into the car.

'Why couldn't I refuse him?' she thought.

He looked at the very young girl, furrowing his brow, saying, "Fourteen years old? You're fourteen years old, and you come out alone at night."

Jasmine shifted in her seat nervously.

"You are too young. You're not allowed to date early. Break up with Daniel," he said.

She was stunned by his words.
"Let's talk about dating when we're old enough to get a marriage license." Ethan calculated seriously, thinking about when she would reach the legal age to marry so they could get a marriage license.

Jasmine held onto her seatbelt, tears welling up, saying, "Ethan, where are you taking me? This isn't the way to my house."

In the dream, she looked very young, and he felt sorry seeing her cry, so he stopped the car and comforted her, saying, "Darling, I'll take you to see the sea. The night view by the sea is beautiful."

"Who are you calling, darling? I want to go home," she said, crying. Then she ran out of the car.

He wanted to chase after her, but he couldn't catch up, and suddenly woke up, realizing he was dreaming.

He sighed in relief, looked down at her in his arms, and silently patted his chest.

Thank goodness it was just a dream.

It seemed like Jasmine had a dream, too, dreaming that he was chasing her.

"Creep," she murmured.

He kissed her forehead and said, "Who were you dreaming about? That creep wasn't me, was it?"

Clearly, she was quite self-aware, and the next second, she answered, "Ethan."

The villain.

The next morning.

When the alarm went off, her eyes were still swollen. For some reason, she cried a lot during her dream last night.

In her dream, she dreamed of him.

She remembered that their first meeting at the Douglas family was not the first time she had met him.

Their first meeting was at his mother's funeral.

That day, all the guests who came to mourn were dressed in black, including her in a black dress.

She held an umbrella, stood not far from the grave, and watched the boy holding his mother's portrait, standing silently in the rain.

In fact, she was attracted by his back that day.

She wanted to hold the umbrella for him, to comfort him but didn't know what to say.

After the adults left, she went up to help him with the umbrella without saying a word.

He just glanced at her.

That one look was enough to captivate her.

His eyes contained a deep, unfathomable darkness, like a surging tsunami of hidden hatred.

From that day on, she was drawn to his eyes and that face.

So much so that when she first saw Daniel in high school, she felt strangely familiar.

Her first impression of Daniel was simply the boy mourning his mother in the rain, holding her portrait.
That person was Ethan.

It had always been him.

At Alex's company.

Annabelle arrived early and sat at the lounge bar drinking coffee.

Karen was very sensible, knowing that Alex wouldn't refuse to help, so she didn't show up again.

After all, they both had families now.

Karen was now focused on getting Serena to wake up as soon as possible, with no other requests.

"Connor, are you sure that if people around start whispering and discussing Jasmine, she will become fearful and panicked? Leading to difficulty breathing, severe speech impediments, and social anxiety?" Annabelle called Connor.

"You should have found out that Jasmine had aphasia for a long time. When her depression was severe, she couldn't speak, couldn't express herself normally, let alone socialize," Connor spoke solemnly.

She said with a smile, "You're quite something."

"Wish you success," Connor said meaningfully, then hung up.

She leaned back in her chair and squinted, saying, "Is everything ready?"

The assistant nodded, saying, "Annabelle, rest assured, everything is ready."

"Very well, then we'll wait for Jasmine to arrive. I want to see how she handles the project if she embarrasses herself in public."

She thought, 'After a while of bidding, Ethan would definitely have Jasmine present the project proposal and the future direction and focus of the company.'

'If she suddenly suffers from social anxiety and loses her ability to speak, it will be quite a spectacle.'
