Chapter 297 What Have You Done to Wilson?
Cordelia paused and looked at Edward, remaining silent for a long time.
"Edward, what are you and Edgar up to?" Nolan, as the eldest brother, didn't want to stoop down to Edward's level. After all, as the oldest, he had taken care of his two younger brothers, as well as Fiona, following the death of their father in their early years.
Edward and Edgar used to be very obedient and respectful toward him.
Edward was more stable than Edgar, but he respected Nolan.
Edgar, being younger, was favored by everyone, so he was closer to Nolan.
However, since they met Wilson, both of the brothers changed. Nolan now harbored a strong resentment toward Wilson. It was hard to understand what charm Wilson possessed that made both of his brothers protect her.
"Brother, what did you do to Wilson!?" Edgar also rushed over, first hugging Edward to prevent him from acting, and then asking Nolan what he did.
"She took Wilson to the Starlink Club for socializing, let people bully Wilson, and even caused Wilson to get hurt," Edward said angrily.
Nolan was shocked.
Who spread these rumors? It seemed as though he really made Wilson accompany guests for drinks, took advantage of her, and caused her harm. This sounded unforgivable.
"Who told you this?" Nolan's face was swollen and there were traces of blood at the corners of his mouth. Edward was too ruthless. Nolan was very sad.
He took care of his younger brother as he grew up, and now he was being beaten by him for the sake of an outsider. "Nolan, you have gone too far!" Edgar also yelled Nolan's name.
"How can you do such a thing? I already felt that you were targeting her when you made Wilson complete the Westing Town project. I didn't expect you to be so harsh toward a girl. You have gone too far." Edgar let go of Edward.
Although he couldn't physically harm Nolan, Edward could do so if he wanted. Cordelia sighed as well. Although she knew that her eldest son was not that kind of person, she was still angry and spoke up.
"Hanchen, Wilson is a good girl. You better learn a lesson. If there is a next time, I will use a stick to knock some sense into you." Nolan was so angry that his mouth hung open, unable to say a word in defense. It was really unbearable to be misunderstood and unable to argue.
Suddenly, he thought of Wilson and frowned without saying a word. He had many misunderstandings about Wilson before, and when he spoke them out, Wilson was unable to explain. She must have been very upset at that time too. Perhaps this Wilson, who made both of his brothers go crazy for her, was indeed a dangerous person. "Edward, come with me," Cordelia said with deep meaning. Edward snorted and followed Cordelia, leaving.
Ethan's residence.
Wilson was in the living room calculating her salary in her pajamas. "Regarding the project bonus from Westing Town, I set aside a portion to be used when Justin gets sick, and another portion was given to the landlord, a total of one hundred fifty thousand dollars, which is our annual rent."
Wilson was calculating household expenses.
Ethan sat beside her, feeling a bit guilty, and cleared his throat. "Actually..."
"It's okay! I still have plenty of money," Wilson quickly shook her head, afraid that Ethan would feel uncomfortable. "I know you have some money, but you can't touch that. You still need to start your own business. I didn't touch the money that brother Liam sent me before."
Wilson knew that Ethan would definitely start his own business. He was a shining sun that would eventually shine.
"Besides planning your business, what we need to do now is find evidence of Howard and Mrs. Douglas's involvement in your mother's death, so that the bad people can receive the punishment they deserve," Wilson told Ethan about her idea.
Starting Ethan's business was the first step, it was to prove and silence others, and it was also to relax Howard and Mrs. Douglas's vigilance.
But what really needed to be done was to use legal means to make sure Mrs. Douglas and Howard were punished. Only then could Stellar Enterprises return to Ethan's hands.
Ethan reached out and pulled Wilson into his embrace. "Aren't you afraid that I can't win against them?"
Wilson held onto Ethan and reassured him softly. "You have me, I will find a way for you to win. You chose me in the first place, and I won't let you lose."
Ethan looked down at Wilson, his heart pounding.
There was no reason for him not to love his wife wholeheartedly.
"Ethan, do you trust me?" Wilson spoke softly.
She had the ability and means to make Ethan win, so Wilson never truly panicked. With Ethan's abilities, returning to Stellar Enterprises was just a matter of time.
Under Daniel's management, Stellar Enterprises would only deteriorate. After such a big piece of cheese went bad, it wouldn't take much effort for Ethan. Those who couldn't get the cheese would personally come to Ethan's door.
Stellar Enterprises was not exclusive to the Douglas Residence. There were so many employees, so many executives, and so many members of the board.
If someone threatens their interests, it means their lives are in danger.
People are always self-centered, especially these capitalists.
Wilson saw through these people very clearly.
She was waiting for them to rot from within, to decay into mud.
"Well, I believe you," Ethan said firmly.
Wilson looked at Ethan. "However, you will have to endure for a while. During this time, many people will laugh at you and bully you. After all, with Daniel and Annabelle's marriage and the Cunningham Family as a backing, he will definitely be arrogant for a while."
Wilson was afraid that Ethan would panic, so she quickly spoke again. "But don't be afraid. I have built a good relationship with Cordelia and Mr. Cunningham. It's all to help you. This time, let me protect you."
Wilson also patted her chest firmly.
This time, she would protect Ethan.
Ethan nodded and smiled. "Okay."
Wilson took the initiative to embrace Ethan, resting her head on his shoulder. "You're with me as we walk into the abyss, and I will accompany you too."
Ethan didn't need to be afraid because she would always be by his side.
Wilson felt sorry for Ethan, but she also had to think about how to minimize the harm he would suffer.
Today, a large sum of money was spent on renting a house. Although she still had money, Wilson still felt sorry. She wanted to save more money to help Ethan start his own business.
But the house had to be a better one. Ethan had never suffered before, and she didn't want him to experience the hardships she had endured in the past.
Back then, she was kicked out of the Wilson Residence and didn't even have a place to stay. She hid in the alley for a long time.
If Richard hadn't found her, she would have probably been trapped in the alley by those drunkards.
"Wilson, I will always be with you," Ethan kissed Wilson proactively, feeling a bit apprehensive inside.
The reason he didn't tell Wilson the whole truth was because he wanted to accompany her through the adversity and help her regain confidence, bit by bit.
Now, Wilson had made significant changes to protect him, and Ethan knew that this was more effective than any therapy by a psychologist.
As Wilson said, true redemption is not the beam of light in the darkness, but the warmth that accompanies you on the journey.
Wilson felt sorry for the expensive rent and had begun to save money to buy a house that belonged to her and Ethan. It was a pity to hand over rent to someone else.
Wilson had just entered the bathroom when her phone rang.
Ethan glanced at it, frowned, and saw that it was Henry.
Actually, when Wilson came back from the hospital, Henry had been calling her non-stop. Ethan remembered that he had blocked Henry's number on Wilson's phone, so he didn't understand why Wilson released him from the blacklist.
He felt an inexplicable sense of jealousy.
